Last weekend we celebrated the newest Disney•Pixar release, “The Good Dinosaur,” on both coasts — at Disney Springs in Florida and the Downtown Disney District in California. With a DJ dance party, chalk art, activities, giveaways and more, it was a party filled with dino-sized fun for the whole family! Couldn’t make it in person? Check out the video recap below, then make plans to see the film which makes it official debut today, November 25, 2015.

Earlier this fall, our first pedestrian bridge opened near Team Disney. Yesterday, we celebrated the official debut of the second bridge, linking Hotel Plaza Boulevard to Disney Springs Marketplace more safely and efficiently than ever before.
Along with several fellow cast members, one of our Walt Disney World Resort ambassadors, a handful of Disney executives, and partners from Reedy Creek and Hotel Plaza Boulevard, I had the chance to witness the ribbon-cutting moment that marked yet another milestone in the evolution of Disney Springs.
With a giant pair of golden scissors, confetti streamers, musical fanfare and celebratory cupcakes, we debuted the bridge in true Disney Springs style!
Whether you’re staying at one of the Disney Springs Resort Area Hotels located on Hotel Plaza Boulevard or simply parking in the lots near Team Disney for a few hours, I’d encourage you to take a walk across one of these bridges. (It’s surprisingly cool and calm up there, and the views are fantastic!)
With expansion efforts continuing through summer 2016, there’s still more change on the horizon. Now, thanks to our pedestrian bridges, that horizon looks markedly different – literally!

Although today’s high was 86 degrees in Central Florida, this morning when I arrived to work at Disney Springs, it was beginning to feel a lot like Christmas. Holiday music filtered through the speakers, trees and ornaments had been installed overnight and I caught my first glimpse of Santa’s Chalet, recently relocated to a new location across from Ghirardelli Ice Cream & Chocolate Shop. A few hours later, I was among the first to meet Old St. Nick, who’s as jolly as ever!
Like last year, guests will check in at the podium to join a virtual queue, which means less time waiting in line. Planning to visit? Upon arrival, you’ll receive a pager from one of Santa’s Helpers; when it’s time to take your place in line, you’ll be notified. Simply return to the podium within 10 minutes. In the meantime, you can shop, dine and enjoy holiday décor and festivities throughout Disney Springs!
Santa will be greeting guests daily through December 24, 12pm – 10pm. (Santa Goofy takes over December 25-29 during the same hours.) If you have Disney’s Memory Maker Package, your PhotoPass Photos with Santa are included. Of course, Santa’s always willing to smile for a selfie, too!

In my family, the weekend after Thanksgiving always means leftover turkey sandwiches and at least one family outing to the latest big-screen flick. I’m already looking forward to the newest Disney•Pixar release: “The Good Dinosaur” which debuts in 3D nationwide on November 25th. And this year, the movie excitement actually starts the weekend before the film hits theatres, with “The Good Dinosaur Weekend” taking place at Disney Springs Marketplace in Florida and at the Downtown Disney District in California, across from Downtown Disney AMC 12.
On November 21 and 22, both locations will host a celebration with a live DJ and a Dinosaur Dance Party from 11am to 11pm. As the sun sets, meteor shower lighting effects will light up the night. Special décor, photo opportunities and giveaways will amp up the party. T-REX and Rainforest Café will also join in the dinosaur-themed fun – so I’d suggest fueling up at one of these restaurants before making your way to the family-friendly festivities.
“The Good Dinosaur Weekend” is part of Dino Week, happening November 14 – November 22 throughout the Walt Disney Company; be among the first to find out more about Dino Week when it kicks off this Saturday on The Good Dinosaur Facebook page and get to know the film’s lead character, Arlo the Apatosaurus, his unlikely human friend Spot, and all of the T-Rexes, Raptors, and Pterodactyls they meet along the way.
Stay tuned to The Disney Parks Blog for more information about “The Good Dinosaur Weekend” including details on signing events, special event merchandise and more!
FIFA Women’s World Cup 2015 Winner’s Trophy Coming to Disney Springs Tomorrow at the Coca-Cola Share the Celebration Experience

This past July, soccer fans across the country celebrated the U.S. Women’s National Team victory against Japan in the 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup Final. Since that historic win, the Winner’s Trophy has been on display in the United States, allowing fans to get an up-close look – and even a photo – of the coveted prize.
With a 4-year old niece who is wrapping up her first season of soccer, I have huge respect for the team and the sport. I know I’m not alone! I was thrilled to learn that the very first stop in the “Share the Celebration” experience is Disney Springs West Side. Thanks to our friends at Coca-Cola who are sponsoring the event, guests can score a complimentary photo and sample the latest Coca-Cola products. Soccer fans can also shop for gear from United World Soccer.
Travel Tips: If you’re driving, allow plenty of extra time for travel and follow the signs to available parking. For guests staying at a Disney Resort Hotel, take complimentary transportation to Disney Springs, then enjoy a leisurely boat ride from Marketplace to West Side, weather permitting.

Haven’t heard of Jacob Whitesides yet? You will. The 17-year old singer-songwriter has been named Radio Disney’s “NBT” (“Next Big Thing”) featured artist, and with a new EP set to debut later this week, he’s about to move beyond his early YouTube fame into the mainstream.
“Faces on Film” will release this Friday, October 23, 2015, and to celebrate, Jacob will be taking the stage at Disney Springs with a free, open-to-the-public record release pop-up concert. Hosted by Brooke Taylor from Radio Disney, his performance is scheduled to start at 6 p.m. at Waterside Stage, across from World of Disney. Seating will be on a first-come, first-serve basis. Since the event is happening on a Friday night, my best advice is to arrive early (very early!).
No record sales will take place at Disney Springs, but guests can purchase the EP on iTunes, listen on Spotify or search for the latest video on YouTube.
With so much to do at the newly renamed Disney Springs (formerly Downtown Disney), you may want to make a full night of it – I know that’s what I plan on doing!

Disney Springs is now live online at disneysprings.com and via Twitter at @DisneySprings. And the timing couldn’t be better, as we are now celebrating two new one-of-a-kind dining experiences at The Landing: Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar which debuted last week, and Morimoto Asia, officially opening to guests tomorrow, September 30, 2015.
We couldn’t be more excited to operate under our new name as Disney Springs continues to grow and transform through Summer 2016, truly making it “your place to be.”

Labor Day weekend is behind us and summer is over, unofficially, at least! Of course that means we’re starting to think about … Christmas? Though it may seem early, here at Downtown Disney, we’ve already started our holiday planning. This season, our transformation to Disney Springs will be in full effect and our holiday offerings will be updated to be more reflective of our new name.
“Holidays at Disney Springs” will include plenty of familiar favorites. Toy Solider stilt walkers, Snowflake performers, a Kwanza Celebration, Hanukkah medleys, enhanced holiday entertainment, specialty foods and festive décor will return. Santa will be back—this year in a new location across from Ghirardelli Ice Cream and Chocolate Shop—which creates a perfect opportunity to savor a rich hot chocolate while you’re waiting to meet him. The best part? Just like last season, guests will be able to pick up a pager upon check-in to secure their place in a virtual queue line. (And as I found out last year, less time in line means more time for, well, everything else!)
New additions will offer something fun for everyone. I’m most excited about the holiday backdrops that will be coming to the Marketplace and West Side; made to look like pop-up greeting cards, they’ll be the perfect place to pose for family photos. And three new unique-to-Disney-Springs holiday trees will make their debut this season. According to Entertainment Show Director, Tom Vazzana, “Every corner of Disney Springs has new decorations that will fill your spirit, and your camera, with holiday memories.”
Look for holiday touches to start appearing on property in mid-November. In the meantime, I’d suggest you start your shopping now at Downtown Disney because I’ve got a feeling the next fifteen weeks will fly by!

Whether you have one pair or a hundred, shoes are some of our most important accessories. Every good stroll requires a good pair, and more and more, shoes have become a reflection of our own personal, unique styles. Walk the West Side at Downtown Disney and you can find a one-of-a-kind, custom-painted-just-for-you pair of TOMS at Curl by Sammy Duvall. A team of talented artists creates inspired art, using the shoes as their canvas. And the best part? When you purchase any pair of TOMS shoes, the company will donate a second pair to someone in need.
Check out the video below to get some ideas for your next pair, or feel free to come up with your own suggestions for the TOMS customization team at Curl!

The “Great Irish Hooley” signifies that we’re half-way to St. Patrick’s Day, and this year we celebrate the fourth installment of this authentically Irish weekend that only Raglan Road Irish Pub & Restaurant could deliver!
If you’ve missed the last three years, let me bring you up to speed: it’s a lively mix of top Irish bands, step-dancing, craft beers, stellar Irish cuisine, and Celtic face-painting, all rolled into one fantastically fun festival.
For the music lovers in your group, the line-up will not disappoint. Screaming Orphans, a quartet of talented Irish sisters with a passion for original pop/rock, is headlining. A new Raglan Road house band, The Raglan Roots Coalition, will keep the crowd moving. Other bands including JigJam, The West Coast Trio, The Blaggards and Cooney & Ryan, are set to provide a mix of bluegrass, folk, and traditional Irish tunes. And keep an eye out for The Blarney Stones; if lead singer Hannah Carr looks familiar, don’t be surprised – she’s a former Raglan Road Irish Dancer.
Think you might need a few libations before you try authentic step dancing? Four limited-edition craft beers brewed especially for the Hooley by Ireland’s Rye River Brewing company will be available: a Raglan Road Saison, a citrusy Raglan Road Fruit Salad Weiss Beer, a refreshing McGargles Jims CO2 Stout and a McGargles Francis Tropical American IPA. Of course, they’re in addition to the beer, wine, spirits, and cocktails that will be featured throughout the weekend. (So yes, you can still have your Guinness.)
To polish off the party, save room for Irish fare from celebrity chef Kevin Dundon. The beer-battered fish and chips is a standout, as is the Shepherd’s pie with a contemporary twist. The seafood and gluten-free entrees also gain high marks from guests, but I can honestly tell you that I’ve never had a bad meal here … no matter what you order, you’re in for a treat.
Of course, the above is best enjoyed when you look the part, so consider getting your face painted; artists will be on hand Saturday though Monday to paint kids and kids-at-heart.
The rockin’ long weekend will also commemorate the pub’s 10-year anniversary – a decade of Raglan Road is definitely worthy of celebrating, so make plans to take part!
