Check Out ‘Why To Stay At A Disney Resort Hotel: The Musical’

posted on November 25th, 2015 by Geoffrey Pointon, Public Relations Manager, Disney Destinations

With more than 25 themed Walt Disney World Resort hotels on property offering an abundance of amenities and services, you may be wondering what is the best way is to learn about them before you book your next Walt Disney World vacation. How about a reimagined musical score written with some of the Disney classics in mind (“Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious,” “Step In Time,” “I Wanna Be Like You,” “it’s a small world” and “Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah”)?

Add a touch of Nicolas Dromard, who played the role of Bert in the Broadway version of “Mary Poppins,” and also appearing in the “Jersey Boys” as Tommy. You then add a splash of Steven Antin, (director of this wonderful 3 ½ minute musical video) who has appeared in “21 Jump Street,” “The Goonies” and directed various feature films. And top all that off with various dance numbers choreographed by Joey Pizzi, who has worked on such films as “Chicago,” “Hairspray” and “The Terminal” and this is what you get.

Add a Splash of Color to Your Epcot Visit with Colortopia Presented by Glidden

posted on November 13th, 2015 by Geoffrey Pointon, Public Relations Manager, Disney Destinations

Today I’m excited to announce that Colortopia presented by Glidden is officially open at Innoventions East in Epcot. When I stopped by to check out the new exhibit, I was tickled pink by the three immersive zones that truly showed me the power of color.

The first experience takes place in the “Power of Color Theater.” This specially designed area uses vibrant hues along with harmonious sounds and narration to explore the psychology of color. For example, red can make me feel several emotions at once like anger or love.

The second zone called the “The Color Lab” features two interactive stations. The first, Color Mix ‘n Match, allowed my 5-year-old son and me to mix red, green and blue to create new colors. The second station, Spinning Spectrums, uses revolving multi-colored disks to test color perception. As the disks spun faster, my son and I tried to guess the actual color of the disks. While it was a gray area on whether or not we were correct, we had fun guessing together.

My favorite experience is in the third zone, “Color Our World,” which features color shadows and a magic paintbrush. With the magic paintbrush, I was able to choose the color palette I wanted to create a spectacular scene on digital screen. Depending on the color, the scene and storyline changed.

The fun didn’t stop there. While walking around World Showcase I was also able to play with the expansive color palettes with the Colortopia mobile app. I collected colors from each pavilion and added them to my personal color palette to take home. The app also features exciting games to test your memory and understanding of color. Visit, to learn more about the exhibit and the app. It’s a blue ribbon experiences!
