February 13 – It’s Villaintine’s Day!

posted on February 13th, 2015 by Jean Volante, Manager of Dream Making, Disney Floral & Gifts/DEG

It’s Friday the 13th, the day before Valentine’s Day, and take a look at our banner below! What happened?! It looks like today has been taken over as “Villaintines Day?!.” I get a dreadful feeling that if I don’t share ideas about expressing your “Villain side,” there could be trouble! So for all our Villain’s at heart, it looks like this post is for you. And if you took the “Discover Your Disney Side” quiz and your loved one wants to be “the fairest of them all”, or would rather bring out the “beast” in those around them then this is for you too!

DOE69574852

Oh, how villains just loathe the thought of love during this time of year! In fact, just this morning I overheard “someone” talking under their breath about how they despise all those “goodie-goodies” giving lovey-dovey tokens of affection. “It’s all about indulging in the pleasures of life,” they said. “After all, who has time for relationships when one can take time for themselves, enjoying life to its fullest!”

So, for those looking to create a Disney villain “sanctuary” after a full day in the park, take heed.

At Walt Disney World Resort, start with a dramatic gift for the queen in your life with Roses to Die For. This arrangement is the perfect haunting mix of dark roses, twisted willow and spooky spider webs. Add to the malevolent ambiance with a surprise that lets you toast to a happily “evil” after with A Disney Villains Indulgence. Now you can indulge in your villainous side by sipping sparkling berry juice in exclusive black goblets while enjoying delectable chocolate truffles in exquisite flavors representing the essence of our wicked women. The magic continues with a one-of-a-kind keepsake: an exclusive matted illustration by Disney artist Charles Wissig, featuring our evil ladies and their esteemed signatures.

DOE69574853

So, here’s your chance to channel your inner Disney villain. When visiting Walt Disney World Resort, amaze your loved one by preparing a villain “sanctuary” featuring “heart stopping” surprises. Simply visit our Heroes & Villains page or call a Dream Maker at 407-WDW-GIFT (939-4438). When visiting Disneyland Resort check out the Disneyland Roses to Die For or call a Dream Maker at 714-781-GIFT(4438).

And be sure to tune in tomorrow, where I’ll be wrapping up these 14 Days of Love with a surprise that’ll be sure to “melt” your heart.

By the way, it seems as if these villainous influences are starting to rub off on me. There’s a mirror on my wall … and for some reason I feel the need to ask it a question …

Day 12 – Experience a Fairy Tale Proposal

posted on February 12th, 2015 by Jean Volante, Manager of Dream Making, Disney Floral & Gifts/DEG

For those who’ve tuned in to learn the voting results from yesterday’s post, we have the outcome. We asked you to vote for your favorite Valentines gifting idea and you have spoken. The winner of the best Valentines magical moment is The Valentine’s Collection. Whether it’s Valentine’s Day or another special occasion, you have ideas to create a special Disney moment for a loved one.

Speaking of winning magical moments, let’s talk about some winning fairy tale proposal ideas! If your love is a Princess at heart or Disney enthusiast, then getting engaged at the place where dreams come true is the ultimate proposal location. But, who do you contact and what are your options?

daldal739881

As part of our Disney 14 Days of Love series, today I’m sharing Disney Floral & Gifts proposal ideas at Walt Disney World. If you’re wondering what this series is all about, check out our first story and take the Discover your Disney Side quiz to learn more.

So, back to you, our favorite topic! Proposing is a big event in your life, and we’ve learned you’re looking for charming ideas at special locations like a romantic Disney restaurant or the Cinderella Castle right before the fireworks. Your ultimate goal? To create the most enchanting proposal and celebration experience your loved one will talk about for years to come.

To help we recently enhanced our engagement/proposal page to feature four proposal ideas such as:

dashjk654321

dsahjkl654322

  • Be our guest and make reservations at a romantic Disney dining location to set the stage for your proposal with Crown Her a Princess.

dsakjl654323

  • Offer a “Once Upon a Time” proposal at a carriage ride, dining location or even in the privacy and comfort of your resort room.

The possibilities are endless really, simply because we can deliver your proposal surprise to Disney dining locations, excursions and resort rooms. The ideas called out above though help to provide you with established experiences.

So here’s what to do:

  1. Take a look at the four proposal ideas on our engagement/proposal page and select the location and gifting experience you like best. Next, make reservations with that location. For example, for Disney dining reservations, call 407-WDW-DINE. For carriage ride reservations, call 407-WDW-PLAY. Our Dream Makers arrange for delivery of your gift and celebration, but can’t book your dining or excursion reservations at this time.
  2. Order your proposal gift for delivery to that location.
  3. Order your romantic celebration for your resort room. You’ll especially want to check out From Mickey and Minnie with Love, Presenting Your Royal Princess-Adult and my favorite, “A Wish Come True – Two Day Romantic Experience

Take time to review your options so you feel comfortable with next steps. You can order online, yet, we also understand this is a big event and you may want to speak with a Dream Maker to walk you through the process, that’s totally fine! After the proposal, your gift will become a keepsake to remember, one they’ll be able to share for years to come. Only at Disney can you receive a “glass slipper” and be proclaimed a Princess by your Prince Charming.

And speaking of creating a moment to remember, you have to watch this video featuring a real life proposal here at Walt Disney World. Jake, did such a good job convincing his sweetheart, Maria, that this was just a photo shoot, that when he actually proposed using the Wishing Rose and bracelet proposal idea, she said yes! Take a look!

And while we’re talking about surprises, tomorrow is Friday the 13th. I have this dreadful feeling something villainous is stirring. This is not good! #Disney14DaysofLove

Day 11 – Valentine Ideas that Express Your Affection

posted on February 11th, 2015 by Jean Volante, Manager of Dream Making, Disney Floral & Gifts/DEG

Looking for ideas to express your inner Prince Charming this Valentine’s Day?

DEV750271

Then this post is for you. As part of our 14 Days of Love series, today I’ll be sharing how you can create a Disney magical moment for your loved one while at Disney Parks. If you’re celebrating at home, some of the ideas I’ll be sharing can be modulated a bit using a little creativity and local resources. But, if you’re wondering what this series is all about, check out the Discover your Disney Side quiz to learn more.

daldal739881

The easiest way to create a Disney magical moment for your loved one is to tie-in their favorite Disney story or character with your gift, card message and delivery location. Below are some ideas featuring a variety of Disney-themed rose bouquets and gifts for couples, dads and families. But again, for our friends at home, you can modulate these ideas with the help of your local florist and embellishments they may have for traditional gifts.

Let’s get started!

DEV750272

1. The Disney Dozen – red roses

  • Magical insight: 13 long stemmed red roses featuring one pixie-dusted wishing rose.
  • Card message idea: “Pixie dust was sprinkled on this bouquet to create a magical wish just for you.”
  • Disney delivery location: Deliver to resort room on Valentine’s Day for surprise at end of the day creating magical wish activity.
  • Park availability: Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort

DEV750273

2. A Magical Wish – Romance Your Love

  • Magical insight: A gifting experience that includes a heart-warming note, sparkling wand and Swarovski crystal bracelet, offering a magical wish, granted by you!
  • Card message idea: “I didn’t want to wait till the last petal fell to let you know I love you.”
  • Delivery location: Send to a romantic Disney dining location for delivery to your table before dessert.
  • Park availability: Walt Disney World Resort
  • DEV750274

    3. A Disney Dozen – Princess Pink (great idea for Dad)

    • Magical insight: Princess-themed long stemmed pink rose design with sparkling accents
    • Card message idea: “I didn’t want to wait till the clock struck 12 to let you know how much you’re loved. Love, Your Prince Charming, Dad.”
    • Delivery idea: Snap a photo of you and your little sweetheart in the room, with the bouquet, so she can remember the moment for years to come.
    • Park availability: Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort

    DEV750275

    4. The Valentine’s Collection – Grand Family Celebration

    • Magical insight: Gift for family expressing love for Mom while providing treats and goodies for rest of the gang.
    • Card message idea: “Let’s create “sweet” memories this Valentine’s Day while at the place where dreams come true.”
    • Delivery idea: Send to the resort on Valentine’s “Eve” since the family will be in the park most of the holiday.
    • Park availability: Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort

    DEV750276

    5. A Wish Come True – two day romantic experience (my personal favorite)

    • Magical insight: Surprise a loved one at your resort with roses on Valentine’s eve and an unexpected romantic second night wish and surprise on Valentine’s Day.
    • Card message idea 1st night: “An expression of my affection on Valentine’s “Eve” so you’re one of the first to know how much you’re loved.”
    • Card message idea 2nd night: “On Valentine’s Day, I saved the best for last. A magical wish awaits just for you.”
    • Park availability: Walt Disney World Resort only. However for Disneyland, you can send roses on the first day and the 2nd day, Mickey and Minnie with Love- In Room Celebration.

So, if you’re celebrating the holiday while at the parks, we can help. You can visit our Walt Disney World, DisneyFloralandGifts.com Valentine’s page and order online, or speak with a Dream Maker at 407-WDW-GIFT. If visiting Disneyland, visit our DisneyFloralandGifts.com Valentine’s page to order online, or speak with a Dream Maker at 714-781-GIFT.

Now here’s your chance to share input. Would you vote to let us know which magical moment you like best? In tomorrow’s post I’ll share the results as well as some new “engaging” ideas I’d like to “propose.” In fact, you’ll want to stay tuned to watch a real-life fairy tale proposal that took the bride-to-be by surprise, so much so that she said no! You’ll have to see what happened! #Disney14DaysofLove

Create a Big Birthday Celebration with 14 Days of Love

posted on February 10th, 2015 by Jean Volante, Manager of Dream Making, Disney Floral & Gifts/DEG

“Happy Birthday to you. Happy Birthday to you. Happy Birthday dear…” well, you know the rest. We all know this song as the anthem to a very special day! A day filled with laughter, love and celebration. But can you imagine celebrating your special day at the place where dreams come true? For those of you who’d love a birthday celebration at Walt Disney World or the Disneyland Resort, you’re going to love this! And according to the “Discover Your Disney Side” quiz, if your loved one is fun, enthusiastic, sweet, kind, loyal or your best pal, then read on because this post is also for you! If you’re just joining us and wondering what the excitement is all about, check out our introduction post to this year’s Disney 14 Days of Love and take the quiz!

daldal739881

One of the most popular requests we receive from guests is, “Can Mickey come to our resort room to wish my child a Happy Birthday?” So our creative team took on the challenge and designed a birthday celebration experience that felt just as if Mickey and the gang came to your Walt Disney World or Disneyland Resort room! Imagine this: you just celebrated your child’s birthday with a full day in the parks. As you return to your Walt Disney World or Disneyland Resort room, you notice a “Happy Birthday” banner hanging on your door. When you open the door, you see that your resort room is filled with surprises left by Mickey and the rest of the Fab 5, all in celebration of your child’s birthday! Imagine the jaw-dropping memory you’ll create.

birwdw384758

With Mickey and Pals Big Birthday Wish at Walt Disney World and Mickey and Friends Birthday Bash at the Disneyland Resort, every member of the Disney Fab 5 brought goodies and surprises to create a one-of-a-kind surprise in celebration of their special birthday! Mickey Mouse made sure to bring essential birthday party items including birthday ears and balloons. And in true Minnie fashion, that sweet mouse brought a delicious candy cake. Goofy, Donald and Pluto also brought along surprises for the celebration, including a few “goofy” gags, “quacky” surprises and “doggy” keepsakes.

And, you can also customize these experiences as well as personalize them. For example, you can add on additional birthday ears for the rest of the family as well as have them embroidered. After you enjoy it here, take it with you and use it year after year for birthday celebrations at home.

These resort experiences are available now for purchase. You can order Mickey and Pals Big Birthday Wish at Disney World Floral & Gifts online or speak with a Dream Maker at 407-WDW-GIFT. For Mickey and Friends Birthday Bash at Disneyland, you can order online or call a Dream Maker 714-781-GIFT. Once ordered our Dream Makers will prepare the surprise for you while you’re away from your room.

And speaking of surprises, I have a secret to share. Our creative team has begun re-imagining this grand celebration to bring an all new, over-the-top experience right to your Walt Disney World or Disneyland Resort room. In the spirit of Disney 14 Days of Love, I’m giving you an exclusive look at some of our concept art for this brand new experience! The picture below represents possible art for five new bins for the new birthday surprise. What do you think?

bbawdw293847

Each collapsible bin will feature goodies and surprises from each character, all in celebration of your big day! It’s slated to launch on both coasts fall of 2015. And, there’s more in store! So, stay tuned to the Disney Parks Blog and DisneyFloralandgifts.com at Disney World and DisneyFloralandGifts.com for Disneyland. And be sure to join me tomorrow for day eleven of Disney 14 Days of Love, where I’ll be sharing romantic ideas for expressing your affection on Valentine’s Day.

So now that you’ve seen some of the concept art for the brand new birthday celebration, what do you think? We want your feedback! Share which bin is your favorite and tell us what else you’d like to see in your birthday surprise by commenting below or using #Disney14DaysofLove. See you tomorrow!

Day 9 – Fresh Cake Magical Moments with 14 Days of Love

posted on February 9th, 2015 by Jean Volante, Manager of Dream Making, Disney Floral & Gifts/DEG

Today, you’re in for a real “treat”. In day 9 of our 14 Days of Love series, I’m announcing something “fresh” and new that should make quite a few wishes come true. Because you kept asking, we listened. How could Disney say no to you, right?! :)

daldal739881

And, for those following us in our series who have loved ones with character traits that make others feel so very special, this post is for you. Here’s an idea to create a magical moment just for them. If you’re just joining us and wondering what the excitement is all about, check out last Sunday’s post to take the “Discover Your Disney Side” quiz to learn more.

In the past, you’ve asked if Disney Floral & Gifts could deliver a fresh cake to your resort. Until today, we only offered a variety of candy cakes. But today, that changes! So, if you’re coming to Walt Disney World and celebrating a birthday or special occasion you can now select from three fresh cake surprises that includes two cake flavors for each.

Announcing…

Mickey’s Celebration Cake

duidui736991

Mickey’s Magical Celebration

duidui725112

And the ultimate?

Mickey’s Grand Birthday Party. And, even though this image below only shows one very large singing balloon … this gifting experience comes with a very very large bundle of balloons too. In fact, there were so many we couldn’t fit them in the image below.

duidui7356993

Let’s talk about these decadent fresh cakes for a moment. Yum! These 6”, two-tiered round cakes serve about 4-6 people depending on the size of the slice. You have two flavors to choose from in all three offerings, either chocolate or vanilla. Along with the piping at the bottom and top of the cake, there are two adorable Mickey and Minnie chocolate ears on top. And what’s written on the top? It says, “Celebrate!” So, for those celebrating other occasions such as an anniversary, cheerleading competition or marathon of sorts, you can choose the Mickey’s Celebration Cake and embellish the gift with additional personalized keepsakes to really “sing” to their special moment here at Disney World.

Like I said earlier, these gifting experiences can be delivered to all Walt Disney World resorts. Once created, we will take your surprise to the resort and the resort will take it up to your room, after you’re checked in of course.

So, here’s one more “magical” idea to add to make this cake experience a jaw dropping moment for the little ones. Take a look at our 4’ Mickey’s In The House air walking balloon. Imagine bringing the little ones in your room to see your choice of cake celebration and this over the top Mickey? It could appear just as if he came to the party! Because he’s an air walker…he’ll move around the room all on his own too. And if you’d like to take him home with you, simply insert a straw into the balloon and let out the helium. Then you can have him re-inflated once at home. Clearly there are ideas here … lol.

To get started, just click on to any of the links above and you can begin creating your surprise. So, while you’re busy “imagineer-ing” your birthday surprise, I’m preparing to share even bigger birthday news tomorrow. So stay tuned! #Disney14DaysOfLove.

They are use to giving to others, so how ‘bout creating a moment that takes them by surprise?

Today I’m excited to let you in on magical tip: here’s the secret to how we create one of our sweet gifts. dream of. Next, tie the ribbon around the outside of the candy bars as shown.

Day 7 – Frozen Summer Fun with 14 Days of Love

posted on February 7th, 2015 by Jean Volante, Manager of Dream Making, Disney Floral & Gifts/DEG

Welcome back! Today, I’m feeling a chill in the air and the desire to “let it go”. So, for all our “Frozen” fans, you’re going to love what I have to share in this post. If your loved one is poised, creative, lovable, fun, caring – in other words “Frozen” inspired – then you’ll be tickled to hear about the new personalized experiences we’ve created. If you’re just joining us and wondering what the excitement is all about, check out Sunday’s post to take the “Discover Your Disney Side” quiz to learn more.

daldal739881

So here’s the scoop! I have a secret to share and you’re the first to know. I’m so glad you’re here because our creative team at Disney Floral & Gifts has been creating a special surprise just for you and in time for Olaf’s favorite time of year, and what is that? Together now…SUMMER! Coming soon (in spring 2015), you can experience your very own wintery celebration in the comfort of your Walt Disney World or Disneyland Resort room! So step through the door to experience two brand new “Frozen” surprises!

daldal836622

First, Olaf’s Warm Welcome Celebration! That’s right; inside your resort room, Olaf left you a heart-warming surprise for the whole family with a new experience, “Olaf’s Warm Welcome.” Once inside you’ll see a large Olaf plush, Olaf vision glasses to see the parks through his eyes, and surprises from the snowman himself! And if you really want to “let it go,” you’ll love our second experience, “Anna and Elsa’s Warm Welcome.” It will feel just as if our royal sisters visited your resort room, transforming it into Frozen fun from Arendale! If that isn’t enough, you can even personalize these celebrations with embroidery to transform the surprises into Frozen keepsakes.

And, you’ll be able to customize these experiences by adding on additional merchandise that’s part of the package. For example, if the package comes with one Olaf plush, you can add additional plush for other members of the family and so on.

We took the surprise one step further, creating A Disney Frozen Memory-Child and A Disney Frozen Memory-Adult. These exclusive gifts feature bracelets made of ice-inspired Swarovski crystals and sterling silver accents, complete with a rose and heartwarming note for your loved one so their favorite story becomes even more personal. Both are available separately now or as an add-on to your Frozen In-Room Celebrations in the spring. So here’s your chance to shake off the winter blues and pack your bags, because both In-Room Celebrations will be available for sale at Walt Disney World and the Disneyland Resort in April with delivery to your Disney resort room to start soon after.

Do you want to be one of the first to know when they go live? Just contact a Dream Maker through email and once the official launch date is set, we will send you a note with the exciting news.

Can you already hear the reaction of your kids when they discover this waiting for them in their resort room? And most likely there will be singing again, right?

And speaking of more surprise moments you can create for those you care about … you have to come back to the blog tomorrow where I’ll be sharing a Disney DIY project that you can make right at home so you can be “Disney” for someone else. It’s a “sweet” surprise that includes a clever design secret.

What’s the experience look like? Imagine this: it’s the second day of your visit and you’re on your way back to your Walt Disney World or Disneyland Resort hotel room after an exciting day in the parks. With this experience, you have the power to create the gift and the memory. First, pick a container from our wide selection of exclusive baskets, bins, and character totes and you’re off. Fill it with goodies, delicious treats and fun tinkering toys for the young ones, keepsakes, beverages, and specialty surprises for the adults. You can choose from any items in the Custom Gift Builder to put into your container, then a Disney Floral & Gifts Basketeer will design your creation just for you and your special someone.

To make it even simpler, follow these three easy steps to learn how you can “imagineer” your own gift:

Step 1: Select your container. Choose a basket, tote or tray.

Step 2: Fill your container. Choose between an assortment of gifts and treats.

Step 3: Complete your order and leave the rest to us!
