Give Mom a Magical Wish for Mother’s Day from Disney Floral & Gifts

posted on April 29th, 2014 by Jean Volante, Manager of Dream Making, Disney Floral & Gifts/DEG

It’s that time of year when one of the most important holidays is quickly approaching … Mother’s Day!

Let’s face it, we’re passed the age of gluing macaroni to a stick, creating makeshift broaches out of toilet paper, or scoring a plastic ruby ring from the claw machine at the grocery store … not that I ever did anything like that. Even though mom is probably thrilled you thought of her, it’s time to step it up and give her a gift she’ll love and is just the right size.

For those of us who have resorted to those handmade collectables in the past, my friends and I at Disney Floral & Gifts have an idea that we know mom will just love and make you look like a hero, no tights or cape needed.

For the woman who has made dreams come true now it’s time to return the favor with A Magical Wish: Fulfill a Dream. Take a look. Nestled in a box, laced with a blue bow just like the color of the Fairy God Mother’s robe from the ever classic, “Cinderella,” is a story, a fairy tale wand and sparkling bracelet.

So first, take a moment to read the card. With a magical fairy tale wand and this heartfelt story written by one of our Disney writers, this gift will provide the opportunity for mom to make a wish, one that you or a loved one will eventually fulfill. Translation – you just gave mom a gift she won’t want to return.

After she makes the wish, simply slip the bracelet on her wrist to commemorate the experience which will also serve as a reminder of how much her desires mean to you or a loved one.

And as for the jewelry, take a look at this gorgeous Swarovski crystal bracelet, a token she’ll want to show off again and again sharing the story of Mother’s Day. And, guess who was the hero? That’s right, you!

Engraved with the words, Dream, Wish, and Believe, all mom will have to do is look down at her wrist to remember the special memory you created.

The good news continues for our Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resort fans! Order this gift and have it shipped right to your front door, or perhaps to your office to take home as a surprise, through our new Ship to Home feature. Just visit our Celebrate at Home tab on our website and select A Magical Wish: Fulfill a Dream. Order today and mom can receive her gift before Mother’s Day, which is May 11 by the way. We ship anywhere in the 48 continental U.S., but be sure to order early enough in time for Mother’s Day. I recommend no later than Tuesday, May 6th.

And, if you are lucky enough to share this Mother’s Day with us at Walt Disney World Resort or Disneyland Resort, visit our website for gifts dedicated to this very special holiday.

For more gifting ideas for mom and all of your loved ones visit or call 407-WDW-GIFT to speak with one of our Dream Makers at Walt Disney World Resort or 714-781-4438 at Disneyland Resort.

Creating an Egg-Stra Special Easter With Help from Disney Floral & Gifts

posted on April 8th, 2014 by Jean Volante, Manager of Dream Making, Disney Floral & Gifts/DEG

Remember what it was like celebrating Easter as a child? Waiting anxiously to see what the Easter Bunny would bring, discovering a basket full of treats, trinkets, and toys made for one of the most exciting days of the year?

I recall my mother making one-of-a-kind Easter baskets for us. She even went to the extent of sewing matching Easter dresses! And then my father gave us matching corsages for Easter Sunday. It was all about creating that family moment we’d remember for years and years.

And as time progressed the surprises we would discover in our basket would change and evolve based on our interests and passions. Essentially, our Easter basket created a story about us.

It’s that same element of story my friends and I at Disney Floral & Gifts keep in mind when designing all of our gifts and just in time for Easter we’re passing the legacy on to you.

New to our website (available at Walt Disney World Resort) you have the chance to channel your inner “Imagineer” by creating an original Easter basket for your loved one laced with the power of storytelling and (of course) the one of a kind magic only Disney can give! With the help from our skilled Basketeers and just a dash of pixie dust from our fairy friends, your story can take flight.

Simply visit our Custom Gift Builder tab, choose an Easter basket, tote, or cinch bag from our selection of containers and fill with your favorite Easter or Disney treats.

Become the captain of your very own crew with chocolate coins, an eye patch and all things pirate! Or dream up a happily ever after, adding a crown and a wand to complete your very own fairy tale. Your once upon a time awaits you and can be created through any product offered on our Custom Gift Builder tab, only limited to your imagination.

You can expect that same magic when you choose one of our baskets from our collection of predesigned baskets and cinch sacks, created for your convenience.

This season we have offerings including Mickey or Minnie’s Easter Surprise Basket or our Mickey or Minnie’s Easter Surprise Cinch Sack. Each of these predesigned offerings comes with activities, and snacks to share.

We have even more magic-filled baskets for your little one at Disneyland Resort, too! Check out Mickey or Minnie’s Easter Surprise Basket, filled with holiday treats, snacks and activities that your little one can enjoy in the parks!

With help from your friends at Disney Floral & Gifts, this Easter will be a memory for families to cherish for Easters to come and surely have a happy ending!

Celebrate 14 Days of Love at Disney Parks – Love is a Commitment – A Military Family Reunion

posted on February 14th, 2014 by Jean Volante, Manager of Dream Making, Disney Floral & Gifts/DEG

Remember our post featuring a real fairytale engagement right inside Magic Kingdom Park? We talked about promises and the commitment a promise must survive in order to withstand all that it encounters. Sadly, often times the promises we make are broken, life gets in the way and we lose sight of what truly matters. But there are those that show us it can be done, restoring hope for each of us.

Today I’d like to share a story about a couple who eat, sleep, and breath the word commitment in its truest form and have endured every obstacle distance has given them.
Misty and Eric Campbell of Marysville, California met in their sixth grade classroom and have been going steady since. Before the “I do’s” and expansion of their family, Eric committed to serve in the US Air Force. Eight years and three kids later, Eric is now a Master Sergeant Pro Superintendent working with U2 Jets and spending much of his career apart from his children and wife.

“It’s our entire life,” Misty shared. “It may not be easy, but we’re used to it. It’s what we know.”

While away from his wife and children, Eric shared he makes a conscious effort to communicate any way possible.

“We’ve done holidays through a computer screen,” Eric shared. “But I’m really fortunate I’m able to see and talk to my kids, some jobs don’t allow that, so I’m grateful.”

Following his plane ride home to the US, Misty brought Eric to Walt Disney World Resort to spend quality time alone together after their six month separation. So, to enhance their reunion, my friends and I at Disney Floral & Gifts recommended our From Mickey and Minnie with Love, an In-Room Celebration designed to feel as if Mickey and Minnie had come to your resort room to create a one-of-a-kind magical experience. A trail of rose petals led them to chocolates, a pixie dusted arrangement of roses, much like our Disney Dozen floral offering, and a spa basket for two complete with personalized bath towels and more, allowing them to step into a magical Disney moment.

Misty and Eric also experienced a romantic portrait session with our friends from Disney Fine Art Photography to commemorate their special occasion, one that would make Misty totally feel like a princess that had just stepped into a dream.

But since Dad still hadn’t seen the kids, we helped Misty create a reunion that the Campbell’s would never forget back home too!

Before their departure from Walt Disney World Resort, we gave them tips on how to create an unforgettable homecoming with our Celebrate with Mickey candy cake, made with help from Mickey, and including one very special wishing candle.

Upon their arrival, Misty entered their home with the wish filled cake, and told her children that if they wished hard enough Dad might come home.

After repeating the words “Dreams come true” over and over again, Eric finally came through the door. Talk about a grand entrance! All three kids ran and clung to him, the type of embrace you’d never want to end.

Since their reunion, Misty shared with us the kids have not been able to let go of their Mickey plush or Daddy since.

“What an amazing way to end our little getaway,” Misty shared. And an even more amazing way to close our 14 Days of Love series. This story encapsulates all the characteristics of love we’ve shared this week.

It just goes to show, whether young or old, romance or reunion, we need to take time to express our affection, appreciation and admiration for those who have touched our lives. We would all love to live at Disney, the place where dreams come true, so that every day we could experience that magic, good feelings and warmhearted stories we love so much. But inside each of us is the magic to be Disney to someone else, no matter where we are. Just like Walt did for each of us, we have the power to make people feel special, leaving a memory in our hearts forever. Now the torch is ours to take, how will we be Disney for someone else?

Celebrate 14 Days of Love at Disney Parks: Honoring a family of Heroes

posted on February 13th, 2014 by Jean Volante, Manager of Dream Making, Disney Floral & Gifts/DEG

At Disney Floral & Gifts we love to help families create magical moments for their loved ones. So when military wife and mother, Brandy Koory, shared her family’s story with us, we knew we wanted to help her create something extra special for them.

In honor of our “Celebrate 14 Days of Love” series we wanted to feature an unforgettable moment for a hero and his family, deserving of recognition for their acts of valor, endurance, and sacrifice.

Air Force Lt. Col Thomas Koory, has devoted his life to his military career, and still manages to be an outstanding husband and father of three girls Emma, Shelby, and Kayla. For the past 18 years of their marriage he’s been on and off tours both stateside and abroad, missing Christmases, birthdays and more.

Just finishing a six month tour in Afghanistan, each of the Koory girls knows how important Dad’s job is, and so, at home they brave through each day without him. Much like the bravery shown in their new favorite film, Disney’s Frozen.

“They love Anna and Elsa,” Brandy shared. “They constantly quote the movie and sing ‘Let it Go’ all the time.”

Brandy shared it is this same film and characters she adores because it teaches her girls a valuable lesson. “The film is all about selfless love,” she said. “Letting your loved ones be who they want, supporting them every step, and being brave while doing it.”

So, in honor of not only her husband’s bravery in his line of duty, but her girls’ everyday bravery at home, we paired up with the Shades of Green Resort right here on property and helped Brandy surprise her daughters with our Presenting Your Royal Princess In-Room Celebration. With tiaras for each princess, sparkling jewelry, framed Princess proclamations and much more, the Koory girls experienced a fairy tale.

But what about Dad? To see how the man of the hour was honored, check out our behind the scenes footage!

And for more ideas on how to Honor Your Hero visit us at You can also speak with a friendly Disney World Dream Maker at 407-WDW-GIFT or Disneyland Dream Maker at 714-781-GIFT.

Stay with us for our finale of our “Celebrate 14 Days of Love” series, where tomorrow we will be sharing one last heartfelt story featuring an amazing surprise to create an unforgettable homecoming, right here on the Disney Parks Blog! Get your Kleenex ready, you’re going to need it.

Celebrate 14 Days of Love at Disney Parks: A Fairytale Proposal Brought to Life

posted on February 12th, 2014 by Jean Volante, Manager of Dream Making, Disney Floral & Gifts/DEG

Today you’re in for a real treat my friends! Remember yesterday when I told you we’d be sharing a story about a real life Disney proposal? Well the hour is upon us! As part of our “Celebrate 14 Days of Love” series I’m going to share what happened.

When we first learned New Mexico native, Issac Gomez, wanted to propose to his girlfriend, Amanda, my friends and I at Disney Floral & Gifts were eager to help … it’s what us Dream Makers do best!

Like most love stories, theirs began with a surprise encounter, and one Issac can’t help but share with a huge grin. “We met through my cousin, being introduced to her was my Christmas present,” Issac shared. “Best present ever.”

While telling us about her, Issac shared on numerous occasions how selfless Amanda is. “She takes care of literally everyone and would do anything for the people she loves.”

So when Issac shared he wanted to propose, we recommended the ideal gift to set the stage for their moment near Cinderella Castle at Magic Kingdom Park.

Here’s what happened: The night before, a gift was delivered to their room along with a card message that prepped the proposal for the next day. Of course, we’re keeping some of the details secret just in case your sweetheart may be reading this story (wink). As their day was winding down in Magic Kingdom Park, Issac took Amanda to La Fontaine de Cendrillon, Cinderella’s fountain, just as the card message mentioned.

At the fountain, Issac asked Amanda to get two coins from her bag. Realizing she only had one coin, she tried to convince Issac to make his wish in the fountain instead. “We went back and forth for a few minutes before I finally got her to make her wish with the coin,” he laughed. “Just goes to show how thoughtful she really is, always thinking of the other person.”

As Amanda tossed her coin into the fountain, eyes closed, Issac knelt to the ground with her ring in hand and popped the question.

“I asked her to fulfill my wish and spend her life with me, she thought I was kidding,” he said.

“I’m glad he wasn’t,” she added. “I couldn’t have dreamt of a better proposal!”

As if the day wasn’t magical enough, Issac had one more surprise being prepped in their Walt Disney World Resort room … our Presenting Your Royal Princess In-Room Celebration. Imagine Amanda’s surprise to walk in their resort room door to discover roses, her very own tiara, proclamation, and sparkling fairy tale necklace and more, just as if the Fairy Godmother stopped by! “The In-Room Celebration was a complete surprise, unlike anything I could have imagined” Amanda shared.

Or course after the proposal, they captured their memories in France pavilion at Epcot with a romantic photo session taken by our photography experts from Disney Fine Art Photography. Check it out!

Looks like our friends have stepped into their very own Happily Ever After …

To discover more enchantment, visit or call 407-WDW-GIFT for Walt Disney World Resort, or 714-781-GIFT to reach Disneyland Resort.

And be sure to tune in tomorrow when we’ll feature the story of a military family who reconnected at Walt Disney World Resort after Dad had been serving our country for the past six months. You won’t want to miss it!

Celebrate 14 Days of Love at Disney Parks: Propose Near the Cinderella Castle

posted on February 11th, 2014 by Jean Volante, Manager of Dream Making, Disney Floral & Gifts/DEG

Growing up it would seem we used the phrase “I Promise” to get anything we desired in exchange for good behavior. It was the best way to show how much you wanted something, and how willing you were to do whatever it took for parents to say yes.

Now that we are all a little older, we know that a promise is so much more than words of persuasion, it’s the assurance and ultimate commitment to someone that you will abide by until that promise is fulfilled.

A proposal is the perfect example of such a promise. And there’s no better place to make a promise to someone you love and want to share your life with than the place where Dreams Come True.

Wishing Rose from Disney Floral & Gifts

If your sweetheart has loved Disney all their life, more than likely they’ve imagined and dreamt of a fairytale proposal and fairy tale wedding. Want to know a secret? The majority of guests looking to propose at Disney want to propose at Cinderella’s Castle prior to Wishes Nighttime Spectacular firework show. And who could blame them? It is one of the most romantic locations on the planet!

As part of our Celebrate 14 Days of Love series, I wanted to share that at Disney Floral & Gifts we can totally recommend a proposal idea for you that takes place near the castle.

With a rose created to grant a wish and a keepsake to commemorate this life-changing moment, you can create one of the most magical proposals at Magic Kingdom Park to date!

We don’t want to give too much away in case your loved one is reading, but this happy ending includes you down on one knee and your loved one doused in happy tears. With a Wishing Rose and Bracelet offering, you can propose right at La Fontaine de Cendrillon, Cinderella’s fountain. There, you’ll be able to offer the promise of a lifetime, and still have time to watch the fireworks with the one you love.

Now that’s what I call a Happily Ever After.

And if this sounds like a proposal you would be interested in, let us know in comments. Here’s our opportunity to proclaim our wishes to the Prince Charming’s reading this post.

If you’re ready to set up your fairy tale proposal, then visit our website, or speak with a friendly Dream Maker at 407-WDW-GIFT.

Stay tuned to tomorrow’s story right here on the Disney Parks Blog, we’ll share how one man made the dreams of his princess come true with a proposal right at Cinderella Castle. How did he do it? Did she say yes? We’ll tell you all about their love story, dream proposal and more.

Celebrate 14 Days of Love at Disney Parks: Share Your Heart With a Friend

posted on February 8th, 2014 by Jean Volante, Manager of Dream Making, Disney Floral & Gifts/DEG

As your new friend, I must say I’ve learned quite a bit while sharing the 14 Days of Love series. All this talk of love makes me think of the people in my life that I don’t know what I would do without. Like my friends.

There are no rules or requirements to being a friend. A friendship can be between siblings, coworkers, classmates, or childhood friends. I think what makes friendships truly special is no matter how far apart you are, no matter how long it’s been since you’ve last spoken, you can always pick up where you left off. You can grow apart just to grow closer together again. My sisters, who I would consider my best friends, are the best and strongest long distance relationship I’ve ever had.

There’s a special bond between siblings, and when you’re friends with your siblings it makes that bond of love even stronger.

Disney’s newest hit animated film “Frozen” is all about that sisterly bond and how selfless love can change everything. Throughout the fun packed, adventure film, Anna helps her sister Elsa break an icy spell she’s cast, creating an eternal winter on their kingdom. I certainly don’t want to spoil the ending, but let’s just say it’s an act of selfless love they have for each other that helps them save the day!

When I saw this film, there were so many moments that resonated for me as a big sister. So many memories of us as kids came rushing back to me, the memories that are etched in my heart forever.

Just as I’ve shared my heart with you, I want to help you share yours. So, in honor of our friends, and our siblings who share that same title, my friends and I at Disney Floral & Gifts have created a heart that you can share with your loved ones, and it’s so easy to do!

Share our link via Facebook to post this electronic heart image to your friends’ wall. Once posted, you can share a message, saying how much your friend means to you, straight from the heart (pun intended). You can share as many times or with as many friends as your heart desires (pun intended again).

No matter where or why we met, our friends are the glue that keep us together and they deserve to be reminded of how special they are to us. Even while at the Disney Parks, there’s an opportunity for friends and family to stay connected.

And, if you’re visiting the Disney Parks over the next few days, check out the film at at the AMC Downtown Disney 12 Theatres at Disneyland Resort in California, and the AMC Downtown Disney with Dine-In Theatres at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida.

For more gifting ideas for our friends this Valentine’s Day, visit us at, call 407-827-GIFT for Walt Disney World Resort, or call 714-781-GIFT to reach the Disneyland Resort. And be sure to stay tuned for our 14 Days of Love campaign! Our next blog post will include an opportunity for me to respond to your gifting challenges. You won’t want to miss it!

Celebrate 14 Days of Love at Disney Parks: Love is Creating Cherished Memories

posted on February 6th, 2014 by Jean Volante, Manager of Dream Making, Disney Floral & Gifts/DEG

Throughout the world, Valentine’s Day is recognized as a holiday for couples. But just as Walt created the Disney Parks for children of all ages, we want to open our heart and share ideas as to how you can express your affection, appreciation and admiration for anyone special in your life, regardless of age. As part of our “Celebrate 14 Days of Love” series, I have an idea that’s a gift to children and parents alike!

At the Disney Parks there is nothing more exciting for a child than meeting a character; seeing and embracing their all time favorite heroes, heroines, princesses and pirates from the films and stories that have played such a role in their childhood in the flesh (or fur). And it’s an equally touching moment for parents, watching the dream of their child come true right before their very eyes.

As if this moment wasn’t magical enough, Disney Floral & Gifts at Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resorts has found a way to extend this magic, making it a once-in-a-lifetime memory.

With both parents and children in mind, Mickey and Minnie’s Valentine Day Surprise is a gift designed not only to allow children to meet their favorite mouse, but receive a gift and return the thoughtful gesture. Not only will children receive a Valentine card from Mickey or Minnie, but will be provided with an opportunity to create one in return, teaching them that holidays are not about receiving, but giving. Once created, children can personally deliver their handmade Valentine at any meet and greet location in the parks and surprise Mickey or Minnie! The child will know they’ve created something so special for that character, and that they will be remembered by them, with a memory to cherish.

We’ve even created a gift for the little ones who may just be too little to understand the memories they’re creating. And though too little to understand, we’ve created a way to capture those first time memories so they can be shared as they grow.

Your little one will be ready for their Disney adventures with all the first-visit essentials like an official autograph book, their first pair of Mickey or Minnie Mouse ears, a cozy blanket and Mickey or Minnie Mouse plush to cuddle with. But the most important piece to this puzzle is the photo memory cards. My First Disney Visit- Valentine’s Day provides parents a way to capture detailed moments to share with those who are not present, and of course share with those too little to remember them for a later time.

Whether it’s their first monorail ride, first castle photo, or their first Disney meltdown, (trust us, it’s bound to happen once) parents will be able to Tweet, Instagram, post on Facebook and text all these cherished memories and more! The gift of a memory is the greatest and most loving gift a parent can give. And watching a child’s wish be granted is just a major plus.

You know what they say: time flies when you’re having fun, and in the place where dreams come true, fun is inevitable. It seems these moments fly away faster than Tinker Bell and, like her trail of pixie dust, they will eventually fade. But although they will soon be in the past, we want to help you remember them, now and always. A gift you can share, and a memory you will cherish forever.

For more gifting ideas for children and adults too, visit us at or call 407-WDW-GIFT for Walt Disney World Resort, or 714-781-GIFT to reach the Disneyland Floral and Gifts Dream Makers. And be sure to stay tuned for our 14 Days of Love campaign! Next time we’ll feature a story of selfless love to help you express your appreciation for those who have been there for you.

Celebrate 14 Days of Love at Disney Parks: Love is Courageous

posted on February 5th, 2014 by Jean Volante, Manager of Dream Making, Disney Floral & Gifts/DEG

When we think about heroes and those of great courage, a few may come to mind … perhaps a whole array of fictional superheroes. But as we get older we come to know and appreciate these heroes as figures who are quite non-fictional and present in our everyday lives.

They are the teachers who educate us valued lessons. They are the military soldiers who protect and serve us around the clock. They are the law enforcement and firemen who sacrifice their lives for us. And they are our families that support and love us endlessly. We call it courage, they call it love. Love for our neighbors, love for our country, and love for our families.

With such a great impact left upon us all, it seems nearly impossible to show our deepest gratitude towards them. What could compare to the greatest gift of sacrifice? As part of our 14 Days of Love celebration we want to share how you can express your appreciation and admiration with the gift of a memory.

There are hundreds of ways to say thank you, but my friends and I at Disney Floral & Gifts have found a way to express our thanks with a gift of recognition. Honor Your Hero gives the opportunity to not only honor a hero of yours but medal them, letting them know they are a champion in your eyes. Take a moment to read this declaration.

Day 5: Celebrate 14 Days of Love at Disney Parks: Love is Courageous

Upon receiving a triumph medal, fitting for a hero celebrating a great accomplishment, they will also receive a certificate with an official seal from the Walt Disney World Resort, the place where dreams come true. When you present them with this certificate your hero will officially be honored as part of a Disney tradition. It is their character, courage, and hope that earn them such recognition like so many dreamers and doers before them.

By wearing this medal of triumph, it will be known that your hero has inspired, protected, and encouraged a dream-come-true for another, a gift that truly keeps giving.

Day 5: Celebrate 14 Days of Love at Disney Parks: Love is Courageous

Now we know heroes don’t necessarily require a cape, tights, and the ability to fly, I’ll bet there’s someone that comes to your mind. For me, my hero is my knight in shining armor, my husband. Nearly saving my life he was able to find a cure to my illness and stayed at my side through a life changing ordeal. It was his courage and love that lead me to Disney, and here I am, able share my story with you!

If the world were full of those who could help others, what a difference it could make! All it takes is the power of one to inspire another. And in honor of all our heroes during our 14 Days of Love celebration we want to share a few “pay it forward” ideas that hopefully will inspire someone else to show their heroic side, no matter the size.

  • When someone repays you, ask them to pay it forward to someone else.
  • Check up on someone who has been over-looked (our widows, those who are sick). Offer to provide an act of service to help.
  • Spend time teaching someone something that will help them with their life skills.
  • Offer your seat to someone who is standing.
  • When someone performs act of kindness on the road, wave to say thank you.
  • Spend consistent time with family! Set aside time each week, even if it’s small at first.
  • Secretly choose someone to become a source of inspiration and encouragement. Recognize them periodically.
  • Extend yourself to new employees or neighbors. We know how it feels to be the new kid on the block, make them feel welcome.
  • Write a note to a teacher who made a difference in your life.
  • Write a thank you note to your hero and leave it in a surprise location they’ll discover.

Whether an act of bravery, thanks, or kindness, the difference begins with you. We all have the ability to create a memory; all it takes is a little faith, trust, pixie dust, and you!

For more gifting ideas for our heroes and any other inspirations in our lives, visit us at or call 407-WDW-GIFT for Walt Disney World Resort, or 714-781-GIFT to reach the Disneyland Resort. And be sure to stay tuned for our 14 Days of Love series! Next time we’ll share a story about creating Disney memories. Stay tuned!
