It’s All ‘Good’ at WonderGround Gallery in the Downtown Disney District

posted on April 22nd, 2013 by Michelle Harker, Merchandise Marketing & Communications Project Manager, Disneyland Resort

Here’s your first look at some of the new “Good vs. Evil” artwork debuting at WonderGround Gallery in the Downtown Disney District over the coming weeks.

The first two images are by this month’s WonderGround Gallery artist in residence, Jeff Granito, and feature Cinderella in Magical Makeover and Tiana in Blooms of the Bayou. If you are an avid collector, then make your way down, as the one-of-a-kinds are available now. Look for special hand embellishments on the one-of-a-kind images that will surely take your breath away. If you are looking to display this image in a more subtle way, then I’d recommend the deluxe print version. Note: Meet Jeff Granito every Friday and Saturday throughout the month of April from 5–9 p.m.

Window Shopping at Disney Parks Around the World: Disneyland Paris

posted on April 10th, 2013 by Michelle Harker, Merchandise Marketing & Communications Project Manager, Disneyland Resort

I love to travel and I hope you do too, because I’m taking you on a trip. From time to time, I invite you to join me as we “window shop” at Disney Parks around the world.

Our first stop… Disneyland Paris!

Can you believe it’s been 21 years since Disneyland Paris first opened its doors? It’s amazing how time flies. I had the chance to catch up with Regis Alart, Junior Product Developer and 2011-2012 Disneyland Paris Ambassador, who gave us a glimpse at some very special artwork created for a 1993–2013 Joyeux Anniversaire pin.

“The art was inspired by the way Le Château de la Belle au Bois Dormant was decorated when we celebrated our very first anniversary,” said Regis. “I’m so happy that we can now share this special occasion with Disney fans around the world.”

Take a look!
Disneyland Paris Joyeux Anniversaire Pin
This anniversary pin, which will be limited to an edition size of 1,013, will retail for €12.99 and will be released at Disneyland Paris on April 12, at the Pueblo Trading Post in Frontierland. Even though most of the merchandise highlighted in our upcoming “window shopping” trips here on the Disney Parks Blog will not be available to purchase via phone or mail order, this is a special exception! Guests who wish to inquire about remaining quantities of this pin may do so after April 13 with the Mail Order team at Disneyland Paris via dlp.pintrading.mail.order@disney.com.

I hope you enjoyed the trip. Have your passport to the world of merchandise ready, because you never know where we will go next.

Colorful New Friends Tees at Disney Parks

posted on April 3rd, 2013 by Michelle Harker, Merchandise Marketing & Communications Project Manager, Disneyland Resort

Good friends are hard to come by … when you’re lucky enough to find them, hang on tight. No one knows that better than some of the friends you’ll spot on a new collection of ladies character sketch tees that are available now at Disney Parks. This colorful new collection of tees feature such fan favorites and good friends as Dumbo, Chip ‘n’ Dale, Jiminy Cricket and Piglet and are currently available to purchase at Disney Clothiers in Disneyland park, Gone Hollywood in Disney California Adventure park, and World of Disney in the Downtown Disney District at the Disneyland Resort. Look for them at Tren-D in Downtown Disney Marketplace at the Walt Disney World Resort in April. Available for only $32.95 each.
This Colorful New Collection Of Tees Feature Such Fan Favorites And Good Friends As Dumbo, Chip ‘n’ Dale, Jiminy Cricket And Piglet
This next collection featuring Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse is set to debut at Disney Vault 28 in the Downtown Disney District at the Disneyland Resort and Tren-D in the Downtown Disney Marketplace at the Walt Disney World Resort in June 2013. With foil embellishments accenting the art, you’ll not only feel cool wearing it, but you’ll look cool too. Available in June for only $32.95 each.
This collection of Tees Features Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse
Now, I personally have gone nuts for the Chip ‘n’ Dale tee, because you don’t see them too often. But if my conscience were to be my guide, I probably would choose Jiminy Cricket.

Who’s your favorite?

posted on March 29th, 2013 by Michelle Harker, Merchandise Marketing & Communications Project Manager, Disneyland Resort

Don’t miss your chance to meet acclaimed author Ridley Pearson, as we set sail for adventure with the release of his newest book, Kingdom Keepers VI: Dark Passage, the much anticipated addition to the Kingdom Keepers saga. Ridley will be on hand for special appearances and signings at the following locations April 10-11, 2013.

Here’s a look at the cover as well as on what you can expect from this new book.
Kingdom Keepers VI: Dark Passage Book Signing with Author Ridley Pearson at the Walt Disney World Resort
The five Kingdom Keepers and their core friends have uncovered a startling truth: Maleficent and the Overtakers (Disney villains) are plotting a catastrophic event that could have repercussions far beyond the world of Disney. Aboard Disney Cruise Line’s inaugural passage through the new Panama Canal, the Keepers and their holograms uncover a puzzle hidden within the pages of a stolen journal. The point of that puzzle will reveal itself in the caves of Aruba, the zip lines of Costa Rica, and the jungles of Mexico. A destructive force, dormant for decades, is about to be unleashed. The five Kingdom Keepers are to be its first victims.

Something to keep in mind: Wristbands will be distributed to guests on the day of the signing with each purchase of Kingdom Keepers VI: Dark Passage by Ridley Pearson, allowing the wristband owner to get two books signed. A wristband from the appearance location is required to meet Ridley Pearson. A limited number of wristbands will be available the day of the signing. Once the wristbands have been distributed, the line to meet Ridley Pearson will close.
