So allow me to tempt your taste buds further, here’s what you can expect. Tart green apples will be covered in creamy caramel and milk chocolate and topped with pieces of peanut butter cup filled chocolates. If you’re sold on what I just shared with you, it gets better. Our candy makers have taken it one step further, drizzling melted peanut butter and sweet milk chocolate over the top.

I don’t know about all of you, but I can’t wait to try it! Spoiler alert Mom, this will be headed your way for Mother’s Day! Where can you find this delicious dream come true? Look for it at Candy Palace on Main Street, U.S.A., in Disneyland park; Trolley Treats on Buena Vista Street in Disney California Adventure park; and Marceline’s Confectionery in the Downtown Disney District.

Do you plan to add this to your list of things to try?

Disneyland Resort Pin Trading Challenge

posted on April 16th, 2014 by Michelle Harker, Manager, Merchandise Marketing & Communications, Disneyland Resort

If you know, me, you know I’m always up for a challenge. So when my dear friend and fellow Disney Parks Blog author Erin Glover challenged me to a Disney Parks Blog Pin Trading Challenge at Disneyland Resort, I said, “I’m in!”

What would the challenge entail? Erin and I headed into Disneyland Resort with rarely seen Disney Parks Blog pins in hopes that we could make some great trades with Disney fans and take part in some of the fun activities and trading opportunities available. You truly have to see this for yourself!

As you can tell, we had a lot of fun trading, and we only visited a handful of locations. There are so many more places you can go. Remember you can also trade with any cast member and other guests.

  • Fly ‘n’ Buy
  • Julius Katz & Sons
  • Radiator Springs Curios
  • Seaside Souvenirs
  • Tower Hotel Gifts

Downtown Disney District

I always say, Pin Trading is as easy as 1-2-3. There are just a few things to remember. Here are some guidelines on Disney Trading to help get you started. Tip: Keep an eye out for Hidden Mickey pins, generally found on Disneyland Resort cast member lanyards.

My own personal tip on trading: I always say trade for pins that mean something to you, whether it’s a favorite character, attraction or icon. Trade for things you love. Pin trading can be fun by yourself or with the entire family. It’s a great way to meet new friends, visit with old ones and share stories. Remember, Disney pins and trading are popular at many of our Disney Parks & Resorts.

Now, back to business, the competition is still on and we need your help! Both Erin and I are convinced we each have the best pins on our lanyard, so share your comments with us and let us know who you think has the better pins.

Beautifully Disney Gets ‘Curiouser & Curiouser’ at Disney Parks

posted on April 11th, 2014 by Michelle Harker, Manager, Merchandise Marketing & Communications, Disneyland Resort

Curiouser & Curiouser, the latest collection from Beautifully Disney takes a cue from the Caterpillar, Cheshire Cat, and Alice herself, with colors ranging from light, neutral tones to richly pigmented and shimmery shades. This new collection will debut May 3 at Disneyland and Walt Disney World Resorts!

DELUXE PRINT2

As soon as I found out about this collection, I immediately sought out the advice of Rachel Brent, whom I introduced to you with the Pop of Minnie collection, and whom I consider my go-to girl for all things beauty. Since I’m late for a very important date, I’m handing it over to Rachel for a quick overview of the new collection and some of her top picks:

I invite you to fall down the rabbit hole and escape with me to a Wonderland of whimsy, as you disappear into a daydream and discover pristine pastels with a peculiar twist — perfect for spring.

abd837881

A-E-I-O-You need to check out the eye shadow palette, which has quickly become a staple in my own beauty bag for spring and summer. The six ultra-flattering shades are perfect for a golden afternoon.

ABD970444THUMB ABD970442THUMB ABD970443THUMB

Are you thinking of painting the roses red? Forget the roses, and paint your lips one of the gorgeous mini-lipstick hues. My pick is Dum De Dum, which is a cool coral shade. Another thing I positively lost my head over, are the two newest lip gloss shades – Miss Priss and Literally Nonsense! Always lightweight, these emollient rich formulas moisturize and condition your lips, never leaving them gummy. I guarantee these glosses will leave you smiling like the Cheshire Cat.

As you know, no tea party or un-birthday is complete without the new decadent macaroon sponges, shown above. Perfectly sized and luxuriously smooth, these make-up blending sponges will become your go-to treat.

ABD970551

Did I find my cup of tea? I think so. As you can see, I went a little mad using all of the nail colors. What colors will you choose to create a look fit for the Queen of Hearts? Here are my recommendations: Tis’ Brillig is a nice twist on neutral with an iridescent textured finish. Or if you’re feeling ‘blue’, This Way, That Way is pedicure perfect.

Tip: Here is a recent nail design tutorial.

Before you leave Wonderland, one last thing: Purchase a mini lip gloss palette for $19.95, when you spend $50.00 (before tax and after discount) on Beautifully Disney products.

Those of you at the Disneyland Resort are in for a special treat. There will be a special signing on May 3 with Jeff Granito, the designer behind the Beautifully Disney artwork at WonderGround Gallery in the Downtown Disney District from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.

As you can see we’re all a little ‘mad’ here. I know that both Rachel and I are ‘curious’ to see what all of you will do with the colors in this new collection, so share your stories with us here on the Disney Parks Blog or hashtag your images #DisneySide on our social channels.

Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique Celebrates Five Magical Years at Disneyland Park

posted on April 4th, 2014 by Michelle Harker, Manager, Merchandise Marketing & Communications, Disneyland Resort

It’s hard to believe it’s been five years since Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique opened in Fantasyland at Disneyland park. I can still remember standing outside the location on a chilly April day, before the doors opened, watching the ribbon cutting ceremony and I knew then, that we were about to create more magic for our Disney fans than we could have ever possibly imagined.

BBA986344

Over the years, so many truly amazing and inspiring stories have been shared with us from our Fairy-Godmothers-In-Training regarding transformation experiences with you, our Disney fans. It’s some of those magical stories that I want to share with you today.

One of our United States Military Soldiers was homeward bound and wanted to surprise his three year-old daughter and wife. During his daughter’s transformation experience at Bibibidi Bobbidi Boutique, the ‘King’ as we called him, snuck into the photo studio in the location. After receiving the royal treatment, the ‘princess’ was escorted into the photo studio. Upon saying the magic words, Bibbidi Bobbidi Boo, the lights in the studio magically turned on and there stood her dad. The little girl instantly screamed Daddy, to which he replied ‘Hi Princess!’

A family with two ‘princesses’ visited Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique during the first year it was open, with each princess taking part in a Castle transformation experience. Upon making their royal debut, the family offered to pay it forward by adding an additional transformation experience on to their bill and allowing the Fairy-Godmothers-in-Training to work their magic. It didn’t take long before they found a little girl whose dream was to become Belle. As it turns out, the ‘princess’ had been living at an orphanage since she was just a couple months old, and her ‘family’ who had found her in the orphanage surprised her with her first trip to Disneyland park. Not only did the ‘princess’ receive the royal treatment, but unbeknownst to her when she and her family returned home, the ‘princess’ was going to be further surprised with the news that she would be adopted and joining her family for a ‘happily ever after.’

What amazes to this day, is that Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique is something that can be experienced at almost all of our Disney Parks worldwide, aboard the Disney Fantasy in the Disney Cruise Line fleet and even at Harrods in London, England.

So I invite you to help us celebrate the fifth anniversary of the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique opening at Disneyland park, as well as celebrating our locations around the world! How? Share your stories and photos with us on the Disney Parks Blog and across our other social channels. Tag your Instagram photos using #BibbidiBobbidi and we may just share them on our @Disneyland Instagram feed.

Golden Week and Duffy the Disney Bear Merchandise Makes its Way to Aulani, a Disney Resort & Spa

posted on March 31st, 2014 by Michelle Harker, Manager, Merchandise Marketing & Communications, Disneyland Resort

I love finding special souvenirs when I go on trips! I’m pretty sure most of you do too. So if you are heading to Aulani, a Disney Resort & Spa during the month of April or specifically during Golden Week at the end of the month, here are some tips on what I think would make some great souvenirs to add to your collection. For those of you wondering what Golden Week is, it is a collection of national holidays in Japan that often fall within a week’s time period.

First up, is a special limited edition pin celebrating Golden Week. This limited edition 1500 pin will debut on April 10 and features Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse enjoying a sweet moment on their Hawaiian holiday. Where can you find it? Kālepa’s Store, of course! It’s a great find and it’s easy to pack for your trip home.

gwp388921

Now, I know that many of you take your very own Duffy the Disney Bear with you on vacation, and I can tell you from experience that Duffy is a great traveler! So here are a few more reasons why you’ll have to make some extra room in your luggage!

Our talented teams of artists and developers have been hard at work creating a handful of new costumes that are … Who am I kidding? I just have to say it … “bear”y cute! First let me show you the dated costume and plaid costume which became available at Kālepa’s Store this past week.

gwp839933

And now … for the sneak peek! Here’s your first look at some additional costumes headed your way in late spring, early summer. As you can see we had some fun dressing up Duffy the Disney Bear!

Personally, I can’t decide which one is my favorite. Which one is yours?

UPDATE 4/18: The Egg-stravaganza 2014 maps are sold out at Disneyland park and Disney California Adventure park.

Disneyland Park Egg-Stravaganza Egg Hunt

Epcot Egg-Stravaganza Egg Hunt Disney California Adventure Park Egg-Stravaganza Egg Hunt

How it works!
Have fun exploring the parks hunting for ‘eggs’ that portray Disney characters! Record your discoveries by placing the corresponding sticker on the specially themed Egg-stravaganza map to represent that location. Maps and stickers can be purchased for $4.95, plus tax at the following parks and locations:

  • Disney California Adventure park – Elias & Co., Oswald’s, Radiator Springs Curios, Rushin’ River Outfitters, Studio Store and Treasures in Paradise.
  • Disneyland park – Disney Showcase, Fairy Tale Treasures, Gag Factory, Pieces of Eight and Pooh Corner
  • Epcot – Heritage Manor (American Adventure Pavilion), Disney Traders, International Gateway, Pin Central and Port of Entry

There are a dozen reasons for you to love the event this year! I know what new characters have been added, but it’s up to you to find them.

Don’t crack under the pressure! Whether you choose to hunt for eggs or not, return your map to a redemption location: Elias & Co. at Disney California Adventure park; Disney Showcase in Disneyland park or Disney Traders in Epcot and participate in an ‘egg-scramble’ to pick up your surprise.

egg849444

What is the surprise, eggs-actly? Let’s just say it bears a striking resemblance to what you are already searching for!

Purchase as many maps as you’d like—while supplies last—and play again and again! No discounts apply. You should also know that separate admission is required to enter Disney Theme Parks and the experience is subject to restrictions and change without notice.

Are you as egg-cited as I am?
