The Art of Haunted Mansion 45th Anniversary Collectibles at the Disneyland Resort

posted on July 25th, 2014 by Michelle Harker, Manager, Merchandise Marketing & Communications, Disneyland Resort

I know the excitement is building as fellow Disney Parks Blog author Steven Miller continues to share the latest news on Haunted Mansion merchandise materializing in Disney Parks. I can hardly believe that in just a few short weeks, we will be celebrating the 45th anniversary of the Haunted Mansion attraction, one of the crown jewels of Disneyland park. There is so much history behind the attraction itself, its famous and infamous residents, and the storytellers and artists that brought it to life.

HHP806441

Over the years, I was fortunate enough to meet some of the Disney Legends and artists behind this attraction and the inception of Disneyland, and it’s something that will live in my heart forever. I know many of you feel the same way. Senior Merchandiser, David Whitaker was no different. “The Haunted Mansion attraction has served as a source of inspiration to many of our artists over the years,” said David. “For the anniversary, I wanted to really focus on the “Art of the Haunted Mansion” therefore allowing each artist to interpret what the attraction means to them, and allowing them to create that in their own signature medium, style and technique. The result is a unique and eclectic collection of characters and artists.”

Here’s your first look at some of the original and limited edition pieces of art, sculptures, figurines and more that will materialize August 16 at Disneyana on Main Street, U.S.A. at Disneyland park.

Add Character To Your Table at Disney Parks

posted on July 14th, 2014 by Michelle Harker, Manager, Merchandise Marketing & Communications, Disneyland Resort

Want to add some character to your dinner table? I have a couple of ideas and easy ways for you to do just that.

Here are a few key items I couldn’t resist from one of the most recent vintage-inspired collections to hit store shelves. I’m sure you’ve heard the saying that everything old is new again. Our merchandisers and artists took that thought one step further and added a Disney twist, creating artwork based on our consumable programs as they would have appeared during the 1970s.

The character plates are the perfect size for any appetizer, snack, small meal or dessert.

plaaaa9382211

Whether your glass appears half empty or half full, you will no doubt be the toast of the town with this collection.

plaaaa837992

If those glasses aren’t quite your cup of tea, try one of these!

plaaaa837333

Find this collection and more at select locations, including the Emporium in Disneyland park and Trolley Treats in Disney California Adventure park, as well as Centerpiece in Downtown Disney Marketplace at the Walt Disney World Resort.

Will you bring this set home with you?
