Mickey Mouse’s fascination with flying goes back to his first film, created this month in 1928. The silent classic, “Plane Crazy,” was later re-imagined and officially released as a sound cartoon in 1929 (following the debut of “Steamboat Willie”). In the film, Mickey channels famed 20th-century pilot Charles Lindbergh as he builds a plane and embarks on an adventurous flight with Minnie Mouse.
Great fashion statements usually have a story. That’s what I love about the retro Mickey Mouse on this aviation-themed tee. We’ve accessorized the look with classics that have a twist. The rich brown leather cross-body Dooney & Bourke bag features tooled leather flourishes of symbols from Disney Parks, like Mickey ear hats and bursts of fireworks. In keeping with the bag, the watch has a dark brown textured leather strap. Mickey’s hands help you tell time, directing you to the hour and minutes. We layered on some arm candy with a bracelet by Alex & Ani and top the look off with a gold Aurora lippy from the Beautifully Disney Collection.
Get whistles while you work or play sporting this “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs“-inspired outfit. Red jeans are the foundation for the tee, featuring a lovely portrait of Snow White. Then it’s off to work for the dwarfs as they come together to tote your things in the canvas carryall. The bag is large enough to hold all of your essentials, including some Beautifully Disney cosmetics and compact mirror (just in case you need to double check who is the fairest of them all). Snow White also graces the face of the stylish timepiece, with black caviar beading around the bezel and a patent leather strap to complete the look.

You’ve always wanted to visit Paris, but don’t know what to wear to one of the most fashionable cities in the world? Why not take a trip to the France Pavilion in World Showcase at Epcot for a dress rehearsal and to experience some of the sights, sounds and tastes of the “City of Lights.” Stroll past the Eiffel Tower at Epcot and turn the walkways into your own fashion runway in this sparkly daytime look. Mickey and Minnie share a romantic moment on the pink tee paired with black sequined shorts (from our closet). We’ve echoed that feeling with the heart-shaped earrings and the vintage-inspired crystal bow watch. A pyramid-studded black cross-body bag finishes the look.
No trip to Paris would be complete without sampling some sweet treats like macarons – meringue sandwich cookies – so don’t forget to stop by Les Halles Boulangerie & Patisserie. Bon appétit!
We’re celebrating Disney Fairiesthis week as part of Limited Time Magic at Disney Parks, so Tinker Bell was the obvious inspiration for this outfit. She is by far one of my favorite Disney characters. I think it’s her spunky attitude that’s most endearing. She’s the perfect blend of feminine and edgy, qualities often mimicked in fashion.
If you want to channel your inner Tink, start with this lace and sequin detailed tee. It can take you from a day in the park to a casual evening of cocktails with friends. A pair of distressed jeans (we pulled these from our closet) and accessories in soft hues of cream and gold complete the look. The stylish Steve Madden tote is large enough to accommodate the sequined Tinker Bell cosmetic bag filled with a neutral Beautifully Disney eye shadow palette — Enchanted Kiss. The watch features rose gold tone hardware, a big trend for 2013. And the ombre crystal earrings are from popular designer Tarina Tarantino’s Spectrum Line.
April showers don’t have to put a damper on a day at Disney Parks when you’re sporting this cute tee. Pair it with your own khaki shorts and some fresh accessories that will hold up in almost any kind of weather. The vinyl tote will keep all your essentials dry and brighten your day with its pops of neon (yes, 80’s neon is back on trend, but in smaller doses this time). Complete the look with “Mickey Mouse Icon” earrings, cosmetics from the Beautifully Disney Princess Collection (nail color – Off to the Ball; lip lacquer – Stroke of Midnight) and a sporty “Wish” watch.
Color coordination doesn’t get much simpler than black and white, so I was surprised to learn the combo is one of the hot fashion trends for Spring 2013. This week’s outfit shows a return to basics doesn’t have to be boring, especially when borrowing a few style cues from Minnie.
The positive/negative play on polka dots on the collared tee and tiered skirt anchor the look. The red bow adds just the right dose of color on the tee and makes the watch and headband pop. Layer a Disney-themed Alex + Ani charm bracelet with the watch for a final flirty touch. Now you’re ready to kick up a heel (or maybe a flip flop), just like Minnie.
One of the best ways to accessorize a new outfit is with the right cosmetics. If you’ve been following our style series, you’ve probably seen some of the Disney-inspired nail colors we’ve featured. For the first time ever, Disney Parks is introducing its own line of beauty products. It’s appropriately “crowned” Beautifully Disney. The premiere, seasonal collection – Wickedly Beautiful – takes guests into a world of good versus evil to create modern interpretations of Snow White, Cinderella, Ariel, Aurora, Evil Queen, Lady Tremaine, Ursula, and Maleficent. Products include lacquer crème nail polish, lip gloss and eye shadow. The line is available at Disneyland Resort’sVault 28 and Walt Disney World Resort’s TrenD. We were there at TrenD as the products were officially unveiled.

By definition, the word nerd used to mean “uncool.” But these days, nerds are flaunting their pocket protectors, horn-rimmed glasses and ankle length pants with pride.
Cool or not, the best fashion is about expressing your personal style with confidence. Who wouldn’t have fun at Disney Parks while sporting this ensemble? We paired the tank with dark jeans, but it would also look great with distressed denim or khaki shorts. The tote bag stays true to the nerd brand, complete with suspender details on the straps. We finish the look with comfortable canvas flats and a touch of sparkle in the Mickey Mouse hand earrings.
On this Valentine’s Day eve, I started thinking … if the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach, the way to a woman’s heart might be in a piece of sterling silver jewelry. One of my favorite new jewelry collections at Disney Parks was created by artist Petra Azar from Studio Petra Azar. She calls the line “The United Heart,” as it features heart-shaped pendants that double as magnetic clasps. The pieces can be dressed up or down and worn with everything from minimalist looks to something more romantic or girly.
I had a chance to chat with the designer during her recent trunk show at Tren-D at Downtown Disney Marketplace. She shared her creative inspiration and what makes her Disney designs so special.
As Valentine’s Day approaches, we may turn our thoughts to some of the classic romances throughout history. Antony and Cleopatra, Romeo and Juliet, and of course Mickey and Minnie! Their whimsical take on expressing their affection for one another is the inspiration for this week’s outfit.
Denim in bright hues has been a great alternative to navy or black the past few seasons, so we start with a pair of red jeans. (Apparently Mickey is quite the trendsetter with his red pants.) We’ve topped them off with a black tee that touts “I love you to the moon and back.” If you look closely, you’ll catch a silhouette of the couple kissing. Finally, we accessorized the look with a Mickey and Minnie tote, white zip wallet and sparkly Minnie necklace. Pop on your own ballet flats or tennies and you’re ready for whatever Disney Parks fun ensues on Valentine’s Day.
