Disney Style Snapshots: Unveiling Beautifully Disney

posted on March 7th, 2013 by Michelle Stepney, PR Content Director

One of the best ways to accessorize a new outfit is with the right cosmetics. If you’ve been following our style series, you’ve probably seen some of the Disney-inspired nail colors we’ve featured. For the first time ever, Disney Parks is introducing its own line of beauty products. It’s appropriately “crowned” Beautifully Disney. The premiere, seasonal collection – Wickedly Beautiful – takes guests into a world of good versus evil to create modern interpretations of Snow White, Cinderella, Ariel, Aurora, Evil Queen, Lady Tremaine, Ursula, and Maleficent. Products include lacquer crème nail polish, lip gloss and eye shadow. The line is available at Disneyland Resort’s Vault 28 and Walt Disney World Resort’s TrenD. We were there at TrenD as the products were officially unveiled.

Disney Style Snapshots: Creating An Adorkable Disney Look

posted on February 27th, 2013 by Michelle Stepney, PR Content Director

By definition, the word nerd used to mean “uncool.” But these days, nerds are flaunting their pocket protectors, horn-rimmed glasses and ankle length pants with pride.
Disney Style Snapshots: An Adorkable Disney Look

Cool or not, the best fashion is about expressing your personal style with confidence. Who wouldn’t have fun at Disney Parks while sporting this ensemble? We paired the tank with dark jeans, but it would also look great with distressed denim or khaki shorts. The tote bag stays true to the nerd brand, complete with suspender details on the straps. We finish the look with comfortable canvas flats and a touch of sparkle in the Mickey Mouse hand earrings.

It’s an homage to the nerd in all of us.

Disney Style Snapshots: Meet Jewelry Designer Petra Azar

posted on February 13th, 2013 by Michelle Stepney, PR Content Director

On this Valentine’s Day eve, I started thinking … if the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach, the way to a woman’s heart might be in a piece of sterling silver jewelry. One of my favorite new jewelry collections at Disney Parks was created by artist Petra Azar from Studio Petra Azar. She calls the line “The United Heart,” as it features heart-shaped pendants that double as magnetic clasps. The pieces can be dressed up or down and worn with everything from minimalist looks to something more romantic or girly.

I had a chance to chat with the designer during her recent trunk show at Tren-D at Downtown Disney Marketplace. She shared her creative inspiration and what makes her Disney designs so special.

You can find the items at various locations around Disneyland and Walt Disney World Resorts. They’re also available online at disneystore.com at the following links:

Disney Style Snapshots: A Love-ly Disney Outfit

posted on January 30th, 2013 by Michelle Stepney, PR Content Director

As Valentine’s Day approaches, we may turn our thoughts to some of the classic romances throughout history. Antony and Cleopatra, Romeo and Juliet, and of course Mickey and Minnie! Their whimsical take on expressing their affection for one another is the inspiration for this week’s outfit.

Denim in bright hues has been a great alternative to navy or black the past few seasons, so we start with a pair of red jeans. (Apparently Mickey is quite the trendsetter with his red pants.) We’ve topped them off with a black tee that touts “I love you to the moon and back.” If you look closely, you’ll catch a silhouette of the couple kissing. Finally, we accessorized the look with a Mickey and Minnie tote, white zip wallet and sparkly Minnie necklace. Pop on your own ballet flats or tennies and you’re ready for whatever Disney Parks fun ensues on Valentine’s Day.

Disney Style Snapshots: A Disney Parks Christmas Day Parade Fashion Preview at Magic Kingdom Park

posted on December 24th, 2012 by Michelle Stepney, PR Content Director

The stars of the 29th annual Disney Parks Christmas Day Parade will be decked out in festive and fashionable attire – and we don’t just mean Mickey and Minnie. We caught up with hosts Nick Cannon and Maria Menounos earlier this month during the annual TV taping at Magic Kingdom Park to see what they were wearing. Maria shimmered in a sequin and chiffon dress by Alice and Olivia. She accessorized her princess-inspired look with Prada pumps and her own belt. Nick sported a red velvet blazer by Balmain atop a Dolce & Gabbana suit. He finished the look with a candy cane striped tie and dazzling dapper red loafers by Arfango of Italy.

Be sure to tune in on December 25 for all the fun on the ABC Television Network (check your local listings). You can join the social media conversation before and during the telecast using the hashtag, #DisneyParade.

Disney Style Snapshot: Pajama Time!

Disney Style Snapshot: Pajama Time!

The holidays are no time to wear old T-shirts to bed. There’s sure to be someone snapping photos of the family unwrapping gifts, so you’ll want to dress your best, even in pajamas. There are some fun and colorful options available at World of Disney in Downtown Disney. Our choice is a subtle nod to Cinderella, complete with princess-themed socks instead of glass slippers.

Disney Style Snapshots: An Outfit from Under the Sea

posted on November 28th, 2012 by Michelle Stepney, PR Content Director

Ariel’s autumnal-hued hair inspired this week’s outfit. For fall, we’ve paired the character tee with a cozy sweater and jeans. When the weather warms up, shed the sweater and swap the jeans for your favorite pair of khaki shorts. The look is accessorized with under-the-sea-themed jewelry and a sparkly green nail color (Fresh Frog of Bel Air) from OPI’s The Muppets Collection.

You may choose to wear this look for a ride on the new Walt Disney World Resort attraction Under the Sea ~ Journey of The Little Mermaid, where you’ll encounter Ariel and her friends. The attraction is part of New Fantasyland, a multiyear project and the largest expansion in Magic Kingdom Park history. It officially opens on December 6.

Disney Style Snapshots: A TrenD Minnie

posted on November 14th, 2012 by Michelle Stepney, PR Content Director

Hi everyone. I’ve always loved fashion and putting new outfits together, so I’ll be bringing you some of my suggestions for unique Disney looks right here on the Disney Parks Blog.

Deciding what to wear to Disney Parks can be as easy as looking to your favorite Disney characters for inspiration. Minnie’s classic color combo of red, black and white is a great choice any time of year. Pair dark denim with one or more Minnie-themed accessories (like these, available at Downtown Disney’s TrenD) and you’re ready to strut through the parks in style.
