Disney Sea & Shore Week on ‘Wheel of Fortune’

posted on February 12th, 2016 by Tony Shepherd, Producer, Broadcast Marketing

There are many partners that we work with at Disney – but it’s no secret that “Wheel of Fortune” is one of our favorites … and we’re always thinking about new ways that we can work together.

Last year, we brought three of our vacation experiences together to create an exciting week on “Wheel”: Disney Cruise Line, Adventures by Disney and Aulani, a Disney Resort and Spa in Hawaii. It was so much fun, we decided to do it again! So, once again, it’s Disney Sea & Shore Week on “Wheel”!

I always tell you that I have the best job at Disney … and working on this production may have been the most fun of all. Along with some other very talented (and lucky) cast members, we played host to our friends Pat Sajak and Vanna White as they sailed aboard the Disney Cruise Line … got a taste of Hollywood on one of our spectacular Adventures by Disney trips … and experienced the true magic of Aulani, a Disney Resort and Spa in Hawaii.

Pat and Vanna, along with the entire crew from “Wheel of Fortune,” made memories that will last a lifetime as we all traveled from the Atlantic to the Pacific. From an extraordinary dinner at Palo aboard the beautiful Disney Dream, to storytelling by the fire at Aulani … to a stroll along world famous Hollywood Boulevard on a unique Adventures by Disney excursion, I don’t think any of us will soon forget these special moments.

Good news is, you’ll get to see many of these experiences throughout the week of shows – along with some clever Disney-themed puzzles, a dazzling set, special contestants who love these destinations just as much as we all do … and there’s plenty of inspiration, too, for your next Disney vacation as you venture outside the theme parks. (And, another exciting treat – five lucky viewers will win their very own dream vacation to Aulani, just for watching!)

So, don’t miss Disney Sea & Shore Week, beginning Monday, February 15 through Friday, February 19! Check your local listings or visit for time and channel.

Nashville Strikes a High Note with Adventures by Disney Travelers

posted on January 13th, 2016 by Amanda Adler, Public Relations Manager

Nashville was recently named Destination of the Year in Travel + Leisure’s Readers poll. And it’s no surprise. Between the music, food and cool activities this destination has to offer, Nashville is becoming a “must visit” for many. On the Adventures by Disney Nashville vacation you can explore the capital of country music and home of the musical drama Nashville on ABC in style.

2 girls on the Adventures by Disney Nashville vacation

Here, you enjoy a private visit to the famed Bluebird Café, complete with performances by local singers and songwriters, and hunt for ghosts during an after-hours visit to The Hermitage, former home of President Andrew Jackson. You’ll even record a song in the historic RCA Studio B!

Best of all you’ll enjoy a VIP experience at the Grand Ole Opry. Go backstage at the world’s longest running live radio program and savor a private dinner in its famed soundstage, Studio A, as well as premier seating for the show.

Nashville, aptly nicknamed “Music City,” is truly an American treasure just waiting to be explored. Right now tourism to this popular city is booming. With Adventures by Disney you can see the best of Nashville, and take part in one-of-a-kind experiences that will really knock your socks (and your country style boots) off!

What interests you most about this music loving, boot stompin’, historical American town?

Resolve to See the World with Adventures by Disney in 2016

posted on January 8th, 2016 by Amanda Adler, Public Relations Manager

When it comes to making New Year’s resolutions I like to set goals that are obtainable (and don’t leave me feeling guilty about that unused gym membership come March). One goal I set every year is to take my family to see someplace we’ve never visited before. And my favorite way to do this is with Adventures by Disney.

With more than 30 destinations on six continents, the options available through Adventures by Disney are vast. But here are a few of my suggestions on where you should resolve to travel this year.

Arch in Arches National Park

Take in the Beauty of America During the 100th Anniversary of the National Park Service
The grandeur and majesty of Yellowstone, Grand Canyon, Arches, Glacier, Denali and other U.S. National Parks are waiting to be explored. And with Adventures by Disney, you can see all of these and more, all during the Centennial of The National Parks Service.

Visit Lucasfilm, the home of Star Wars
Feel the power of the Force with a trip to Lucasfilm in the Historic Presidio of San Francisco to see rare Star Wars memorabilia, including life-size replicas of Darth Vader and Boba Fett. To cap off this experience, you’ll enjoy a private visit to the Premier Theater and view highlights from many celebrated movies.

Spectacular View of the Danube River

Plan a European Vacation
This one is pretty broad, but the dollar to Euro exchange rate is hot right now, making it the perfect time to plan a trip to Europe. With Adventures by Disney you explore the Sistine Chapel after hours on the Italy vacation, see the Christmas Markets on a Holiday Danube River Cruise, celebrate Oktoberfest on an autumn Germany vacation, or choose from vacations in Spain, Scotland, Norway, Ireland and more.

Celebrate the Disneyland Diamond Celebration, and Get a Sneak Peek at What’s to Come
On the Southern California vacation you’ll go where few have gone before. Enjoy a rare behind-the-magic private tour of Walt Disney Studios, enjoy exclusive access to Walt Disney Imagineering, see Walt Disney’s Disneyland apartment and more, plus enjoy the magic of the Disneyland Resort Diamond Celebration through September 5.

Machu Picchu view as seen on the Adventures by Disney Peru vacation

Cross Some Must-Sees Off Your Bucket List
If you’re like me you have a list of locales you’re eager to visit “someday.” Why not make 2016 the year you cross some of those places off your must-see list? Hike Machu Picchu on the Peru vacation, go on a South African safari, or knock three items off your bucket list by traveling through the Amazon, snorkel in the Galapagos Islands and stand on the equator on the Ecuador: Amazon and Galapagos Islands vacation.

The world is waiting to be explored! Where do you most want to visit in 2016?

Room With A View: Red Rocks in Sedona With Adventures by Disney

posted on December 23rd, 2015 by Amanda Adler, Public Relations Manager

If you’ve followed my posts on the Disney Parks Blog you’ve likely seen me lament the fact that I have yet to ever visit the Grand Canyon. It’s high on my “to do” list, but I’m waiting for the day my toddler is old enough to travel there with me on the Adventures by Disney Arizona and Utah vacation.

And it’s more than just visiting the Grand Canyon that draws me to this destination. From hiking in Arches National Park to Colorado River rafting, off-roading in Monument Valley and more, this trip showcases the beauty of some of America’s National Parks (which just happen to be celebrating their 100th anniversary in 2016) in a way that makes exploring them easy and accessible for families. And for me, as a “grown up” (by most definitions anyway), I can’t help but feel drawn in by the serene allure of Sedona.

I mean, look at this view! Surrounded by red rock formations and 70 acres of scrub forest, I can’t think of anything more sublimely enchanting than waking up to this beautiful Red Rocks vista in Sedona with Adventures by Disney.

Set Sail for Wintertime Fun with Adventures by Disney Holiday River Cruises

posted on December 22nd, 2015 by Amanda Adler, Public Relations Manager

Every family has their holiday traditions. In my family they all seem to center around baking, sweets and the regret that comes from so much baking and so many sweets. But, regardless of what traditions your family holds dear, I’m betting the most important part is spending quality time with the ones you love. And in 2016 I can’t think of any better way to spend that time together, all while getting into the holiday spirit, than by taking a European holiday getaway on an Adventures by Disney Danube River Cruise.

Romantic View of Budapest Along the Danube River

There are few things, if any, more charming than Germany, Austria, Slovakia and Hungary in the winter. Adorable towns and cities decked out in holiday décor, Christmas markets brimming with mulled wine and one-of-a-kind crafts, twinkling lights and, if you’re lucky, even a light dusting a glistening snow. And with Adventures by Disney you can warm up with a hot cup of cocoa onboard an equally charming river cruise ship as you cruise past Budapest spectacularly illuminated, celebrate a holiday luncheon in Vienna and more.

Oh, and did I mention that it’s all completely stress free? How often can you say that about the holidays? With Adventures by Disney, you can rest easy knowing that every detail is planned for you.

Need more convincing? Check out just a few of our top reasons why this vacation is an ideal getaway for your family.
