A few minutes before a performance of “Mickey and the Magical Map” at Disneyland park last week, the star of the show got a special visit from another well-known star, Academy Award-winning actress, Halle Berry.
These two pals could’ve spent the whole afternoon catching up, but it was showtime before too long, so a quick kiss for good luck, and then “on with the show!”
Mickey Mouse, clad in his favorite soccer uniform, joined in the fitness fun as Gilles demonstrated some of his soccer skills for our cameras and the impromptu crowd that gathered. A big fan of the sport, Gilles has played amateur soccer in California while continuing his successful acting career.
Born in France, Gilles began his show business career in modeling after serving in the French Army. After a photographer discovered him, Gilles moved to the U.S. following the fulfillment of his military duties. While modeling, he began his acting career and has starred on TV shows, including “Brothers & Sisters” on ABC. He became a fan favorite for his dancing skills on the hit competition series “Dancing with the Stars,” and currently appears on the ABC Family series “Switched at Birth.”
After today’s photo shoot with Mickey, Gilles stayed and took photos with several amateur teams who were arriving to compete in the 2013 Champion ESPN Games.

After winning his fourth straight and record eighth French Open on Sunday, tennis star Rafael Nadal is off to a “monstrous” start to the summer tennis season, so it’s fitting that he celebrated today at Disneyland Paris with Sulley from the soon-to-be-released Disney•Pixar blockbuster “Monsters University.”
Nadal spent Monday with his family at Disneyland Paris enjoying the attractions and interacting with various Disney characters, as well as posing with his trophy. He probably knew his way around the resort pretty well. After all, “Rafa” celebrated his French Open wins in 2011 and 2010 there, which are part of a streak of four straight French Opens victories for him.
So if he wins his fifth straight next year will he celebrate again at Disneyland Paris?
With the additional memories he created Monday with his family at Disneyland Paris, Nadal said before leaving the resort that he isn’t thinking about next year’s French Open at the moment, but rather is already turning his focus toward tennis’ next major event – Wimbledon, which starts in a couple of weeks. If he wins that one, too, this really will be a monstrous summer for him.
“Getting ready to have some fun at Disney!” Candice (@CandiceGlover) tweeted upon her arrival. While here, she recorded video segments that will soon be part of “The American Idol Experience.” She also took time to make a walk-on appearance at the attraction, surprising guests on-stage and in the audience.
Candice’s first single, “I Am Beautiful,” is currently available on iTunes and her upcoming album, “Music Speaks,” is available for pre-order, for a limited time.
Check out this behind-the-scenes video to hear from Lana, as well as cast and crew on what it was like the day the Evil Queen made her appearance in the Happiest Place on Earth. And don’t forget to watch ABC’s “Once Upon a Time” this Sunday, May 5, at 8 p.m. to see the final promo.
We had the pleasure of working with Mariah Carey on the vision for her vow renewal for almost a year, and like most brides, she wanted to feel like a princess on her big day. We couldn’t think of a better place to commemorate five years of wedded bliss – and Roc and Roe’s second birthday – than at Sleeping Beauty Castle at Disneyland park. It doesn’t get much more royal than that!
The evening started with a birthday party at Fantasy Faire fit for a mini prince and princess where guests were served everything from ‘mocktails’ to cotton candy. And of course no birthday is complete without cupcakes and a happy birthday serenade.
After the celebration, guests moved over to Sleeping Beauty Castle where the forecourt was dripping in 10,000 crystals and over 15,000 blooms imported from Holland, South America and France. Mariah arrived in regal style accompanied by her daughter Monroe in the Crystal Coach where they were met by Nick and Roc clad in matching Prince Charming outfits.
The reception was filled with toasts, a few rides on attractions and Nick spinning as the DJ. It’s safe to say this after-hours private event was straight out of a fairy tale and filled with love.
Yesterday, seven-time Grammy-winning trio Lady Antebellum gave a special performance at Disneyland park to celebrate the May 7 release of their upcoming album, “Golden.” Appropriately enough, this special performance occurred on the stage of the legendary Golden Horseshoe Saloon.
From the stage of the Golden Horseshoe, the band mentioned how exciting it was to be here at Disneyland, and then, Hillary Scott, who is expecting her first baby in July, joked that she and her husband, drummer Chris Tyrrell, have just taken their daughter to Disneyland for the first time! “We’ll be back, of course,” she said.
The lucky audience for this exclusive event was limited to contest winners from all over the country, but now you can watch this amazing show yourself, here.
