Another offering we want to make sure you don’t miss is the opportunity to learn how to draw some of your favorite friends from “Frozen” over at the Animation Academy at The Magic of Disney Animation.

Character artist Brian James Fichtner previously gave us a tutorial on how to draw Olaf, which you can view here and a tutorial on how to draw Elsa, here. This time, he’s back to share how to draw one of the film’s more artistically complex characters – Anna. Grab a pencil, paper and check out the full tutorial below!

‘Frozen’ Summer Fun Includes Treats for Cooling Down at Disney’s Hollywood Studios

posted on July 8th, 2014 by Pam Brandon, Disney Parks Food Writer

With a nod to the blockbuster animated film “Frozen” but also some icy cold beverages just for grown-ups, “Frozen” Summer Fun at Disney’s Hollywood Studios has a little something delicious for everyone.

OLC806753

Start with the adorable Olaf, Elsa and Anna cupcakes ($5.19) – almost too cute to eat, but they’re delicious too. Olaf’s is carrot cake (of course) with cream cheese icing and a white chocolate Olaf. The Elsa and Anna cupcakes, vanilla for Elsa and chocolate for Anna, are topped with a cascade of buttercream frosting to create the girls’ dresses, and a white chocolate topper.

You’ll find the cupcakes at Studios Catering Co., Pizza Planet, ABC Commissary, Rosie’s All American Cafe, Fairfax Fare (Anna and Elsa are there only on July 5), Oaken’s Trading Post & Frozen Funland, Starring Rolls Cafe and the coffee cart.

If you prefer a keepable souvenir, the cute Olaf sipper cup comes filled with all sorts of icy concoctions, from a blue raspberry milkshake at Min & Bills’ Dockside Diner ($9.29) to strawberry lemonade at Backlot Express ($9.49) or frozen blue raspberry slush or strawberry lemonade slush at Oaken’s Frozen Funland ($10.25).

More “Frozen” goodies can be found at Oaken’s Trading Post & Frozen Funland – the new place to keep cool this summer located inside the Soundstage One building toward the rear of the park with a frozen pond for ice skating, open daily from park opening to 8 p.m. Along with the cupcakes and slushie drinks, you’ll also find an Anna & Elsa cookie ($5.25), plus hot cocoa, churros and Mickey pretzels.

Just outside the Premiere Theater, where the popular “Frozen” sing-along happens daily, you’ll find more “Frozen”-themed goodies, including the Anna & Elsa cookies, Anna & Elsa or Olaf crisped rice treat ($4.25).

At Hollywood Scoops on Sunset Boulevard, ice-cream fans will appreciate the blue sugar cookie ice cream sandwich with your choice of hand-dipped ice cream ($4.19).

Three fun “Frozen” summer cocktails are available at the Animation Bar and Idol Bar daily from 4-10 p.m. The Let It Glow ($6.49) is non-alcoholic, with pineapple juice, grenadine, ginger ale and a glow cube. There’s also a Summer Berry Margarita ($11.75) and the Blue Dream with citrus vodka, blue curacao, peach schnapps, sweet-and-sour mix, pineapple juice and a glow cube ($11.75).

All the “Frozen” goodies are available through September 1. Most of the sweet treats (excluding alcoholic beverages) are on the Disney Dining Plan.

Five Things To Love About ‘Frozen’ Summer Fun at Disney’s Hollywood Studios

posted on July 7th, 2014 by Jennifer Fickley-Baker, Social Media Manager

What’s not to love about “Frozen”? It has a great story, unforgettable characters … and those songs!

Now through September 1, Disney’s Hollywood Studios is playing host to a bevvy of film-inspired offerings that include a new fireworks spectacular, a procession, falling snow, special snacks and exclusive merchandise, plus opportunities for guests to celebrate their “Frozen” Side by joining in a group singalong or moving to the beat at a “Frozen” dance party.

That said, here are five things you’ll definitely dig about the new “Frozen” offerings at the park.

NFS706063

  1. New “Frozen” Fireworks - It’s not every day that a Disney Park debuts a new fireworks show – this is huge deal! The brand-new fireworks spectacular was inspired by the story of “Frozen.” It features songs from the film and a not-to-be-missed finale (which I won’t give away here). Our Entertainment team constantly tries to raise the bar, so this is one show that you can’t miss!

NFS706077

  1. Kristoff - Another hero from the film has joined in the fun at the park. Spot Kristoff on the Wandering Oaken’s Trading Post float in the “Anna and Elsa’s Royal Welcome” procession at 11 a.m. and on stage during the Frozen Fireworks spectacular at night.

NFS706065

  1. Snow at Disney’s Hollywood Studios – It may be July, but the heat is no match for Elsa’s magical powers. Look for snow flurries on Hollywood Blvd. during “Anna and Elsa’s Royal Welcome” procession and during other entertainment moments.

NFS706066

  1. “Frozen” Sing-Along Celebrations – You sing “Let It Go” at home, in your car – and as in my case, possibly even in the office. Thanks to the “For the First Time in Forever: A “Frozen” Sing-Along Celebration,” there’s now an organized place where we can all sing the songs from the film together, multiple times each day.

NFS706067

  1. Ice Skating In Summer – One of the many fun things to do inside Wandering Oaken’s Trading Post & Frozen Funland on Soundstage One is ice skate. In July. How cool is that?

Last night Disney’s Hollywood Studios capped off the first day of the park’s new Frozen Summer celebration by debuting an amazing new “Frozen”-inspired fireworks spectacular. And what a show!

The spectacular, which is one of the first fireworks shows in Disney history to be inspired solely by one film, celebrates the songs, story and great characters of “Frozen.” The show also features an amazing finale moment to the song “Let It Go” that will be simply unforgettable for Elsa fans.

Be sure to check out the photo gallery below to see some of the amazing spectacular for yourself.

Inaugural ‘Anna & Elsa’s Royal Welcome’ Parades Through Disney’s Hollywood Studios

posted on July 5th, 2014 by Jennifer Fickley-Baker, Social Media Manager

Earlier today, Anna and Elsa, the royal sisters from “Frozen” were officially welcomed at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, well, for the first time in forever!

FPL706111

Anna & Elsa’s Royal Welcome” is a new daily procession that gives everyone a chance to enjoy the pageantry and cheer of the grand arrival of the royal sisters of Arendelle. Stepping off at the front of the park, Anna and Elsa proceed through the parade route in a royal horse-drawn sleigh, while their friend, Kristoff, travels on a Wandering Oaken’s Trading Post float. Our “Frozen” friends are flanked by plenty of royal entertainers, including a flag corp twirling the flag of Arendelle, a troupe of ice men performing a routine with ice picks, sliding skiers, skating snowflakes, and more. Upon arriving at the stage in the center of the park, the sisters receive their official welcome to “Hollywoodland” before returning to their carriage and completing the rest of the parade route, ending just before the Star Tours – The Adventures Continue attraction.

FPL706222

I was there to see today’s inaugural procession for myself, along with my son, who like so many kids, watches “Frozen,” plays “Frozen,” and even sings “Frozen.” By far, one of my favorite elements was seeing the kids who were chosen to join in on the fun. Each day, 20-30 of our young park guests are going to be randomly invited to become honorary royalty of Arendelle and march along in the parade. Although these children are randomly selected to appear in the procession, word on the street is that one way to increase your chances of being selected is to dress and be seen in your Arendelle best!

“Anna & Elsa’s Royal Welcome” is one of many “Frozen”-inspired offerings that guests can enjoy at Disney’s Hollywood Studios through September 1, which also include a new fireworks spectacular, ice skating, a singalong, dance party, merchandise opportunities and more.

Chart-topping singer Katy Perry took a break from her global concert tour to join friends at Walt Disney World Resort for a little R & R (rest and relaxation) and M & M (Mickey and Minnie) during the Fourth of July holiday weekend. Perry is currently on the U.S. leg of her Prismatic World Tour.
