As the Disneyland Resort Diamond Celebration continues to dazzle, 2016 is a great time for you and your girls to channel your inner princesses at the Disneyland Resort. Whether you are celebrating a special occasion or simply spending quality girl time at the Happiest Place on Earth, try out these fun activities for a magical girlfriends’ getaway!

Show off matching Mickey Ears, hats or t-shirts
Stepping out in matching Disney style is the perfect way to celebrate your friendship! Minnie ears from The Mad Hatter at Disneyland park, Disney t-shirts from Gone Hollywood at Disney California Adventure park or cute accessories from the World of Disney store in the Downtown Disney District make great photo props.

Capture your memories with Disney’s PhotoPass Service
Disney’s PhotoPass Service ensures that all the girls can get in the group photo. Friendly PhotoPass photographers will pose you in front of iconic locations in the parks, capture Disney Character greetings and even snap a photo with your personal cameras.

Rejuvenate at Mandara Spa at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa
A getaway is not complete without pampering fit for a princess! The Balinese-themed Mandara Spa inside Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa provides an escape to paradise with relaxing massages, manicures, facials and more. Reservations are recommended.

Enjoy dinner in the park at Carthay Circle Restaurant
With an exquisite menu and décor inspired by the Golden Age of Hollywood, you and your best friends will dine like stars at Carthay Circle Restaurant in Disney California Adventure park.

End a spectacular night with the “Disneyland Forever” fireworks spectacular
The recipe for a memorable night includes grabbing a cup of hot cocoa, cozying up near “it’s a small world” and spending quality time together as the “Disneyland Forever” fireworks sparkle in the skies above Disneyland park. This spot has a great view of the beautiful animated projections on the exterior of “it’s a small world,” too.

Grab drinks at Trader Sam’s Enchanted Tiki Bar
Located at the Disneyland Hotel, the torch-lit terrace of Trader Sam’s Enchanted Tiki Bar is a relaxing spot to unwind and continue the fun after a day in the parks. This tropical-themed lounge evokes the feeling of a mystical oasis, and some colorful cocktails may conjure up magical surprises!

How do you have fun with your best friends at the Disneyland Resort?

Moms Panel Monday: Planning Your 2016 Unforgettable Disney Vacations

posted on December 28th, 2015 by Leanne O'Regan, Director, Social Media, Disney Parks

With Christmas behind us and the new year fast approaching, if your family is like mine, the kitchen conversation starts leaning towards spring and summer vacation decisions. Knowing that a Disney destination is top of mind for many people, our Disney Parks Moms Panelists are ready to start helping folks narrow down the choices to a perfect Disney get-away.

Aparna from Ontario will be taking her family on their very first Disney vacation in May 2016 and asks what dining options are best for her three young children. Moms Panelist Whitney gave her some great advice including one of my favorites, Flame Tree Barbecue at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, which is delicious!

Matthew from Illinois will be here with his family also in May and asks about transportation options to get from his Disney hotel to their dining reservation at a different Disney resort. Moms Panelist Lauren knew exactly how to help.

Cari from Ohio wonders about renting personal watercraft during her stay as something different to do. Moms Panelist Susan helped her based on her own experience with the water recreation activities.

And Moms Panelist Ashley helps a new mom from Tennessee plan their November 2016 traveling with an infant. Ashley’s own experience vacationing at Disney Parks with a baby came in very handy as she offers great advice including sticking to a routine, utilizing portable cribs and visiting the Baby Care Centers located in each Disney theme park.

Make sure you visit the Disney Parks Moms Panel as you start planning your 2016 Disney vacations. Our panelists have a wide range of experience and are here to help your vacations be unforgettable and magical.

Today’s Moms Panel Monday shares different Moms’ Views on planning a large family vacation. She wants to make sure everyone in the family has a magical vacation. Our Moms Panelists to the rescue! A dozen Panelists stepped up with some really unique and fun ideas for the entire family.

Moms Panelist Brenda suggests experiencing the live entertainment offerings so the whole family can have fun together, like Turtle Talk with Crush at Epcot and Enchanted Tales with Belle at Magic Kingdom Park.

Susan suggests attractions that are top picks for her family including Festival of The Lion King at Disney’s Animal Kingdom and Living with the Land at Epcot.

Panelist Andrea shares some “off the beaten path” ideas like exploring Tom Sawyer Island at Magic Kingdom Park or becoming a Wilderness Explorer at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

And Moms Panelist Whitney made me laugh with her advice based on her own large family gathering experience in the parks.

You can find this question with the all the panelist’s answers as well as other helpful questions and answers on the Moms’ Views section of the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

Create a Disney Magical Memory for Family and Friends From Disney Floral & Gifts

posted on December 11th, 2015 by Jean Volante, Manager of Dream Making, Disney Floral & Gifts/DEG

I love celebrating holidays and special occasions because it gives me an opportunity to let family and friends know how special they are. Sometimes it’s the coveted gift that lights up loved ones. For others, it’s articulating what makes them so special through a note or card. Here are two ways to share your heartfelt sentiments at home and at Disney Parks.

For the next holiday meal you host, consider sharing your sentiments through the place card above. On one side of this “gift”, write your guest’s name, on the other side, note what makes them special to you. Once all are seated at the table, let them know of your surprise message. For some, this “gift” will become a treasure … one they may keep to read again in the future. To help you get started, just print the card and you’re off to create a special memory.

For family coming to Walt Disney World or Disneyland, your family and friends can help you create a similar surprise for your loved ones through our new Disney Magical Memories program. Here’s how it works:

Let’s say your family is coming to Disney for a holiday visit or special occasion and you want to create an over-the-top Disney surprise for them. Begin by ordering some holiday gifts from our website for delivery to your resort room. At the end of your order, you’ll be asked if you’d like to invite family and friends to create a surprise for your loved one(s) through a free note that will be included in an exclusive Disney card and delivered to your resort room along with your gift. They will receive one card, but it can include numerous notes from grandparents, aunts, uncles, etc. surprising them with a free special message.

Oh and by the way, the card is an exclusive piece illustrated by Disney artist Charles Wissig.

To learn more about this offer at Walt Disney World, visit our Disney Floral and Gifts website or call a friendly Dream Maker at 407-WDW-GIFT (939-4438)! For Disneyland, you can visit this Disney Floral and Gifts link or call 714-781-GIFT (4438).
