Singer/songwriter Chris Daughtry, lead singer of the band “Daughtry,” visited Disney’s Hollywood Studios this morning and stopped by the Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith attraction. While there, he posed for this photo with Minnie Mouse. Ever fashionable, Minnie was decked out in her best rock and roll attire. The Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights at Disney’s Hollywood Studios is one of the most resplendent holiday sights you can see on Walt Disney World Resort property this time of year – and starting tonight, it’s about to get brighter.
Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights debuted at the park in 1995, and has since grown to feature more than 5 million lights, animated holiday displays, music and so much more! “Glow With The Show” ears, which debuted at the park’s nightly performances of “Fantasmic!” earlier this fall, will enhance this holiday offering beginning tonight. Ear hats can be purchased at merchandise locations throughout the park, or you can bring ear hats previously purchased at other Disney Parks to wear – they operate on the same technology and will work.
Will you head out to Disney’s Hollywood Studios to experience this for yourself this holiday season? Tell us in the “Comments” section below! (And thanks to Gene Duncan for the photos!).

Just like starlets of yesteryear at the original Hollywood Brown Derby, guests can enjoy a beautiful afternoon or evening relaxing on the new patio lounge at The Hollywood Brown Derby Restaurant at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
Shaded by big umbrellas, guests can sip wine, beer and cocktails such as a classic Mint Gimlet (Nolet’s Silver Dry Gin, simply syrup, lime juice and fresh mint) or a Bloody Mary with Absolut Peppar Vodka. There are flights of martinis, Champagne, wines, Scotch and Grand Marnier. And wine by the glass or half bottle.
Small bites are on the menu and include artisanal cheeses, charcuterie, duck confit tacos, steamed Prince Edward Island mussels, Derby Cocktail with jumbo lump blue crab, black tiger shrimp, avocado and a horseradish-tomato juice, and two Derby Sliders—a Wagyu beef slider with cognac mustard aïoli, smoked gouda cheese, bacon and avocado; and a house-made chorizo slider with chipotle mayo, manchego cheese, pickles and crispy onions.
You can also just stop for dessert, with Chocolate Three Ways (praline milk chocolate cream, crunchy ganache and orange-chocolate mousse), a banana-white chocolate toffee tower on a cocoa-almond cookie and bananas Foster, or strawberry Champagne cheesecake.

Last night, “Fantasmic!” at Disney’s Hollywood Studios became the first Walt Disney World Resort Entertainment offering to debut the addition of “Glow With the Show” ear technology. Were you there to see it? The “oohs” and “ahhs” coming from the crowd made the unveiling positively thrilling to see in person.
From now on, the new ear hat technology will be featured as a regular part of the nightly show. Guests who wish to purchase “Glow With the Show” ear hats can do so at merchandise locations throughout the park.
Check out the video below for a look at the show’s debut – and don’t forget that “Glow With the Show” ears will debut at Magic Kingdom Park this Saturday night (October 19), during the “Celebrate the Magic” nighttime projection show and “Wishes” fireworks.

Indulge in a chocolate fountain fun after lunch or dinner any day of the week at Hollywood & Vine restaurant at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, delicious warm chocolate spilling over like a waterfall. Fresh strawberries, pineapple, apple wedges, dried mango, marshmallows, strawberry shortcake – there’s always something delicious for dipping in the sweet chocolate at the buffet restaurant. The strawberries and marshmallows are clear crowd favorites.
Beyond the chocolate fountain, other housemade favorites include a dense chocolate pecan bar, a light-as-air banana cream puff, gooey brownies, key lime tart, red velvet cake, macaroons, and oatmeal cookies. (It’s vacation, after all.) And, surprisingly, one of the most popular desserts is the no-sugar-added cheesecake – don’t confuse “no sugar added” with “no taste” – the pastry chefs work their magic with this one.
Do you have a favorite Hollywood & Vine dessert?
