Yo ho, let’s go! The sense of adventure of a pirate’s life can entertain little ones of all ages and we’ve got lots of exciting ways for kids to get in on the action. We rounded up some of the top ways at Walt Disney World Resort for kids to feel like a real pirate for the day in this handy graphic.
In addition to these great experiences, there is even more swashbuckling fun to be had across the theme parks and resorts. For fans of Disney Jr., don’t miss character dining and meet & greet opportunities with Jake and the Neverland Pirates at Disney’s Hollywood Studios! The adventure continues at our resorts with special Pirates Adventure Cruises, where little scallywags can set sail to find hidden treasure. There are even pirate-themed rooms at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort.

I just returned from an amazing Austria, Germany and Czech Republic Adventures by Disney vacation. I’ll be sharing some of my favorite experiences from that trip here on the Disney Parks Blog shortly but, in the meantime, I wanted to show off my favorite room with a view from this adventure.
Imagine waking up to the sight of the Bavarian Alps outside your window. Well I did just that during my Adventures by Disney stay in Berchtesgarden, Germany! And as you can see, the three nights I spent here as part of this 8-night trip were truly breathtaking.
The Austria, Germany and Czech Republic trip is also one of the uniquely designed multi-generational trips Adventures by Disney is offering for 2015. The Aug. 21-29 departure of this trip will include a professional photographer on hand to capture photos of your extended family together.
Of course, every Adventures by Disney trip offers some pretty remarkable views. Be sure to follow the new Adventures by Disney Pinterest page for even more great shots like this one!
The Disneyland Resort Diamond Celebration continues all summer long, honoring 60 years of the Happiest Place on Earth, and on July 4th we’ll also be saluting 239 years of the United States of America with some special Independence Day entertainment.
- Disneyland park – “Disneyland Forever,” the all-new street-to-sky fireworks spectacular, will be presented July 4 at 9:30 p.m. Following the show on that night only will be a patriotic, pyrotechnic grand finale to celebrate America’s birthday.
- Disney California Adventure park – On July 4, a special pyrotechnic water display will be presented at the start of all three performances of the new “World of Color – Celebrate!” at 9 p.m., 10:15 p.m. and 11:15 p.m.
- Military Bands – Several outstanding Air Force and Marine bands will be performing at locations throughout the Disneyland Resort, from July 2–6. Be sure to check out Kevin’s original post for all the details!
Who’s ready for some red, white and blue?!
We have great news to share – the special pricing we announced last July on theme park tickets and accommodations for active duty and retired U.S. military personnel at our domestic sites will be extended now through mid-December.
Magic Kingdom Park is a wonderland of pleasant places and experiences waiting to be discovered, and then made into regular visit traditions. When the summer sun is beaming it brightest, every seasoned guest has favorite attractions that are refreshingly air-conditioned and/or cooled nicely with fans and are relatively moderate as to queues (of course, “subject to change without notice” and all that stuff).
I adore tonight’s “After Dark” image, which was shot at Epcot’s France Pavilion.
Hollywood couple Angela Bassett and Courtney B. Vance, along with their twin 10-year-old children, Bronwyn and Slater, recently took time at Magic Kingdom Park to pose for a photo with Goofy – Angela’s favorite Disney character.
One of the most important questions you should ask yourself before setting sail on your Disney cruise is, “How can I transform my family into the most swashbucklin’ pirates on the high seas?”
It’s no secret that breakfast is my favorite meal of the day. Last year, I wrote about some of my favorite places to grab breakfast before a day in the parks at Walt Disney World Resort. Today, I have a few unique breakfast picks to share with you—all available without a dining reservation.
From July 2-5, guests can enjoy more special performances by military acts than ever before, continuing a tradition of inviting the military to perform at Disneyland, started by Walt Disney on opening day. If you are visiting the Disneyland Resort this Fourth of July weekend, you may want to catch one of these patriotic shows! Below is a schedule of performance times.
