You don’t have to be a fan of the critically acclaimed ABC TV series “Nashville” to know that the city pulses with excitement. I recently joined a fun group on the new Adventures by Disney Nashville Long Weekend. Like the city, this four-day, three-night adventure way exceeded expectations. And you’d think we were Nashville stars, with all the insider access to so many places, the amazing food and totally VIP treatment.
Not a country music fan? Not a problem.
Nashville deserves its moniker “Music City U.S.A.,” but it’s also called the “Athens of the South” and “Nash Vegas” for good reason. Steeped in art, architecture and culture, Nashville also knows how to kick back and have a good time. There was something for everyone in our group of families, young adults, singles and tweens.
Music literally creates a soundtrack for this Adventures by Disney getaway. There’s a private tour of the famed RCA Studio B where a long list of music greats recorded. It was like stepping back in time, and Adventures by Disney groups even get to record a track of a hit song.
We turned over performing to the professionals for the rest of the adventure. That included a private lunch at The Bluebird Café. Famous long before its appearance on the Nashville TV show, this is where some of the city’s hottest stars got their big breaks. People still line up for a chance to get in and see performances here, so we were thrilled that our private visit included performances by some unbelievably talented, warm and funny artists.
Nashville doesn’t just appeal to different musical tastes either. Adventures by Disney showcases a culinary scene that’s every bit as varied and exciting. In addition to checking out premier Nashville restaurants, we made our own biscuits as part of a private evening and dinner at The Hermitage, President Andrew Jackson’s lovingly preserved former home. And we celebrated our final night together with dinner backstage at the Grand Ole Opry before being escorted to VIP seats for the show.
There’s so much more to the Nashville Long Weekend, and that included one big downside – having to say goodbye to new friends we’d met and our Adventure Guides – Kelly and Paola. Not only did Kelley and Paola anticipate questions and needs the group had, they kept us laughing and entertained all four days. They were the melody that held this Adventure by Disney song together.
Keep an eye out for my next report, from the Adventures by Disney Ireland vacation!

When it comes to gorgeous nighttime shots of Paris, the Eiffel Tower gets more than its fair share of love from photographers. Maybe I’m the type who roots for the underdog, but I’m partial to one of Paris’ other iconic landmarks, the Arc de Triomphe. So when I saw this “After Dark” photo, taken on the Adventures by Disney England and France vacation, I just had to share it.
The Arc de Triomphe is the gateway to “the most beautiful avenue in the world,” the Champs-Elysees. And if you’re a fan of that iconic 1,063-foot-tall tower icon I mentioned earlier, you get a pretty great view of it from atop this arc.
But no matter what you’re most excited to see in The City of Light, Adventures by Disney has you covered. From touring the illustrious Louvre museum to climbing the bell tower at Notre Dame Cathedral to traveling outside the city to the gilded Chateau de Versailles and more, the England and France vacation offers you the chance to explore “must see” destinations in two major European cities.
And when you get there, be sure to snap a few extra photos of the Arc de Triomphe for me!

I’m lucky to have visited San Francisco many times, but not until my recent Adventures by Disney Long Weekend did I realize how much I’d missed on previous visits.
It’s tempting to say I felt like a “local,” but this Adventures by Disney itinerary includes things Bay Area residents can only dream of doing. Hello exclusive visit to the Lucasfilm campus in the San Francisco Presidio! Why, yes, thank you for that private lunch and a wine-blending experience in the barrel room of Silverado Vineyards. And it doesn’t get more “Disney,” than a privately guided tour of The Walt Disney Family Museum.
These are just a few highlights from the chock-full four days and three nights that make up this discovery of the City by the Bay. On the second morning of our adventure many in the group said we’d seen and done so much that it already felt like a full vacation.
Everybody knows that San Francisco is a sightseer’s paradise with iconic attractions like the Golden Gate Bridge and Fisherman’s Wharf. While those never lose their appeal, Adventures by Disney offers a chance to experience the diversity that makes San Francisco so special – cosmopolitan flair, scenic natural wonders, historical sights and much more.
One of the many pleasant surprises about this weekend adventure was how outdoorsy it is. We biked along the bay to the Golden Gate Bridge and hiked the inspiring Muir Woods. There were less-active choices available, but tandem bikes and other options made these activities suitable for pretty much everybody. Later, a quick boat ride to Angel Island and we had breathtaking views of the city and bay and the perfect spot for a picnic lunch.
San Francisco offers so much to see and do that it’s easy to get overwhelmed and miss a lot. Not to worry, Adventures by Disney took care of everything to make sure we got the most from our trip. Adventure Guides, Eleni and Emily, were like two Fairy Godmothers handling every detail.
Our Adventures by Disney travel posse included lots of kids, moms and dads, young adults and Grandpa “Bumpa” Bob on his first big travel adventure. By the end of the trip we all felt like family promising to stay in touch. That’s not unusual, with families often becoming lifelong friends with one another and taking more Adventures by Disney trips together.
Yes, you may leave your heart in San Francisco, but with Adventures by Disney you’ll take away a lifetime of memories.

What sort of view do you want on your dream vacation? Rolling hills, epic mountains, serene lakes, lush vegetation, bustling cityscapes; whichever you prefer you can find it with Adventures by Disney. While I have a hard time picking my favorite, I can’t help but be intrigued by this volcano view, found on the Adventures by Disney Costa Rica trip.
This view of Arenal volcano is visible just outside your window at the Hotel Arenal Fortuna, which serves as the home base for two nights of this Costa Rican adventure. Not only will you enjoy this spectacular sight, you’ll also take flight on a zip line excursion through the rainforest, soak in relaxing hot springs, set off on a white water rafting adventure and more.
And if you’re the type who enjoys basking in a relaxing ocean view the Adventures by Disney Costa Rica vacation offers that too. You can soak in some sea breezes in Guanacaste, on the western coast of the country, and enjoy beach time, a private catamaran excursion, mojito making and other activities perfect for simply unwinding.
What is your dreamiest vacation view?

Adventures by Disney now offers “Long Weekend” getaways, taking travelers on 4-day, 3-night trips to some of North America’s most beloved destinations. While I’m eager to try them all, this early morning shot of the Golden Gate Bridge, one of the most iconic sights you can see on an Adventures by Disney trip to San Francisco & Napa, truly beckons me.

If you’re looking to visit a place with a ton of charm, may I suggest Austria? As excited as I was to visit the Bavarian Alps on my recent 9-day, 8-night Austria, Germany & the Czech Republic Adventures by Disney vacation, my eyes were woefully unprepared for the sheer amount of natural beauty they would behold during the Austrian portion of this trip.
First up was Salzburg, where we took a privately guided tour that included enchanting gardens, lush landscapes and striking fountains that will beg for you to burst into song; and I might have done just that on several occasions. Here we dined at a 1,200-year-old restaurant while being serenaded by a duo of Mozart violinists! I felt very fancy indeed.
On our way to Vienna we made a stop in the adorable town of Mondsee, where we enjoyed lunch al fresco alongside the gorgeous lake. The beauty of this place has earned it a spot on my personal “most charming places I’ve visited” list.
In Vienna the one-of-a-kind experiences just kept on coming. We enjoyed a private marionette performance and got to try our hand at operating them (with guidance from the masters). We learned how to make strudel (and sampled it aplenty), toured the famous Schonbrunn Palace, got an exclusive backstage look at Royal Spanish Riding School and even tested our gracefulness during private Waltz lessons! As a very special treat we also visited the Vienna Zoo after hours, where our group enjoyed a private look at the animals and a unique dinner feast at the former breakfast pavilion of the Emperor, located in the middle of the zoo.
But I haven’t even told you about my favorite part yet. Ask anyone who’s been on an Adventures by Disney trip about their experience and they’re sure to tell you about their amazing Adventure Guides. For this trip our group was educated, entertained and delighted by Adventure Guides Stephanie and Dean, and they truly made every moment unforgettable. The number of exceptional experiences they created for us is too numerous to list, but it was in Austria that they really brought experiences to life the very most. Here they donned a lot of hats, literally and figuratively. Seriously, these two love to dress up. And they know their audience; we all loved it!
And so ends my Adventures by Disney Austria, Germany and the Czech Republic trip. Retelling it has made me want to do it all over again!
