Here’s your first look at merchandise events, product releases and signings taking place in January 2014, as we kick off a new year at Disneyland Resort.

January 4 – 5: Stop by WonderGround Gallery in the Downtown Disney District from 1 – 4 p.m. to check out the latest releases from artist Erin Leong. Learn more here.

January 16 – 19: Are you signed up for the 2014 Tinker Bell Half Marathon? I’ll be sharing all of the details on this year’s Tinker Bell Half Marathon merchandise in the coming weeks. So get ready, because there are quite a few things that I’m pretty sure you’re going to run in for.

January 17 – 18: Get ready for an Art Attack! Artists J. Scott Campbell, John Coulter and Noah are taking over WonderGround Gallery in the Downtown Disney District with live art performances, artist signings and more taking place between 5 – 9 p.m. Who will you be rooting for? Learn more here.

December 7: Stop by Animation Gallery at Disney’s Hollywood Studios for the limited edition release of Last Resort featuring retro Mickey, Minnie, and Pluto on a holiday gone awry. Now – December 29: The holiday collection from Precious Moments doll maker Linda Rick is now available at Once Upon A Toy in the Downtown Disney Marketplace and Heritage Manor at the American Adventure pavilion in Epcot. December 17: Calling all Traders! Disney Trading Night will take place December 17 from 6 p.m. – 9 p.m. at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. So if you are looking to meet avid and novice traders, make friends, or share stories about your collections, then this is the place for you.

Reminders: The specific location of Trading Night will be in the ESPN Wide World of Sports Grill Restaurant area, adjacent to the lobby. Space is extremely limited. Please limit the number of items that you choose to bring. Learn more.

Vinylmation Celebrates Five Years with Special Events in November 2013 at Disney Parks

I find it difficult to believe that Vinylmation is celebrating five years. I’ve been writing about these collectible figures since October 2009 (it was my second article for the then brand new Disney Parks Blog! On November 7, 2008, Vinylmation was introduced at the Festival of the Masters event in Walt Disney World Resort. You can read about the humbling beginnings of Vinylmation in this article. Today, Vinylmation is found at numerous places around the world including Disney Parks, Disney Stores, online and even on Facebook. To commemorate this year’s milestone anniversary, we are holding two special release parties at Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resorts. Here is a look at the figures created for these events.

Disney Design Group Artist Thomas Scott designed the fifth anniversary figure shown above. The item has an edition size of 1,000, and will be sold in a mystery box that the Vinylmation team is calling, “Eachez.” The black figure is the more common figure in the box (900 of those), while the green figure is more rare (only 100 made). You may recall this concept from the 2013 Epcot International Food & Wine Festival. Thomas said the figure was inspired by both the question mark figure and the black and green colors that have been associated with Vinylmation for years.

Thomas also designed a new limited edition Meet & Greet Mickey figure for the 2013 Festival of the Masters event.

Artist Maria Clapsis designed two limited edition sets inspired by long-time popular artwork found on shirts and other items at Disney Parks. Each set has an edition size of 2,000.

Finally, Ron Cohee designed this year’s Festival of the Masters limited edition figure. Presented as the “Eachez” concept described above, the figure has an edition size of 1,200. Mickey Mouse covered in paint is the more common figure this time.

Fans can meet Thomas, Maria and Ron on Friday, November 8 at D Street in Downtown Disney West Side from 10 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. All of their figures, plus one more mysterious set from Thomas, will be released on that day at D Street in Florida.

For guests in California, the fifth anniversary “Eachez” figure and a mysterious set that my fellow author Michelle Harker previously mentioned will be released on Saturday, November 9. Thomas will also be at D Street in Downtown Disney District from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. that day.

New “Fab 5” Ink & Paint Cels To Debut at Disneyland Park

New Ink & Paint cels are set to debut at Disneyana on Main Street, U.S.A. at Disneyland park beginning December 5. Curious to see what these open edition cels will look like? Wait no more. These new images, sold separately, will actually each feature a member of the Fab Five: Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, Goofy and Pluto.

Artists Charles Landholm, June Valentine Ruppe, Eric Scales, Dave Smith and Todd Wiesenhutter have been hard at work detailing each piece. Last Resort Cel Release & Signing at Disney’s Hollywood Studios

I dare you to ‘drop in’ for the newest limited edition Ink & Paint cel release to debut at the Animation Gallery at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Materializing December 7, is “Last Resort” which features a retro-inspired Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse and Pluto, on a holiday that has clearly gone awry, as they stand in front of Hollywood Tower Hotel otherwise known as The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror. Take a look!

I can’t believe that we are about to talk November events. Can you? What’s next, Christmas? Actually, the answer to that is yes too! So let’s get started. Here’s a quick look at what is coming your way and hopefully it will help you get a jump on your holiday shopping.

October 17 – November 4: There’s nothing more boo-tiful than these Halloween inspired dolls by Precious Moments doll maker Linda Rick. Representatives will be appearing daily at Once Upon A Toy in the Downtown Disney® Marketplace, as we celebrate the release of these new dolls, among other fan favorites. Look for a special appearance by Linda Rick, herself, October 17 – 20. Learn more.

October 22: Calling all Traders! Disney Trading Night will take place from 6 – 9 p.m. at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. So if you are looking to meet avid and novice traders, make friends, or share stories about your collections, then this is the place for you.

A Few Reminders: The specific location of Trading Night will be in the ESPN Wide World of Sports Grill Restaurant area, adjacent to the lobby. Space is extremely limited. Please limit the number of items that you choose to bring. Disney bus transportation will be running to and from the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex until approximately 10p.m. Learn more.

UPDATE 10/2/13: Due to unforeseen circumstances, Author Dave Bossert is unable to attend the book signing on October 5 at Disneyana in Disneyland park. However, special guest Roy P. Disney will be on hand for a special appearance and signing of the book, “Remembering Roy E. Disney.”

It’s almost October! Time to start thinking about costumes, tricks, treats, and of course, all of the events that you simply can’t miss at the Disneyland Resort.

October 5: Pick up a copy of “Remembering Roy E. Disney,” which draws a poignant and funny picture of a man revered and idolized by legions of Disney fans and admired, cared about and very well liked by all those that had the honor to know him. Author Dave Bossert will be on hand for a special appearance and signing from 9 – 11 a.m. at the Disneyana Shop in Disneyland park.
