Unwrapping the Entertainment for Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party at Magic Kingdom Park

posted on November 9th, 2012 by Shawn Slater, Communications Manager, Walt Disney Parks and Resorts Creative Entertainment

Tonight’s the night!

Cinderella Castle During Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party at Magic Kingdom Park

It’s time for the first Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party of the season at Magic Kingdom Park, and nothing else puts me in the holiday spirit quite like it! All your favorites are back this year – Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade, snow on Main Street, U.S.A., “Celebrate the Season” at Cinderella Castle and the Holiday Wishes fireworks spectacular in the skies surrounding the park.

Since its debut a few years ago, “A Totally Tomorrowland Christmas” has become another must-see for my family. We love seeing characters like Buzz Lightyear, Stitch and Mike Wazowski in the show and really enjoy the fun, modern twist on classic holiday tunes.

This year, the Creative Entertainment team is introducing a couple more modern elements that kids of all ages will be sure to enjoy. The popular dance party with Disney characters over at Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Café is getting a new look and a new name – Club Tinsel. And the Kringle Crew will be keeping everyone entertained on Main Street, U.S.A., while you’re waiting for the parade to arrive.

The Kringle Crew shows up with a “Ho! Ho! Ho!” calling all elves big and small to join them in the street and dance it out like Santa. They’ll teach you moves like the Candy Cane Twist, Hang the Tinsel, the Santa Shake and Drive the Sleigh, all to the tune of “Shake Santa Shake” by Zendaya, from the new Disney Channel Holiday Playlist album. The dance-along soon turns into a sing-along, and the next thing you know, it’s time for the parade.

Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party is being held on 20 select nights between now and Dec. 21. I know my boys will be ready to show off their moves at Club Tinsel and jam with the Kringle Crew. How about you? I can’t wait to see them – and you – out there. Happy holidays!

Peek Inside a Very Merry Christmas Party at Magic Kingdom Park

posted on December 1st, 2011 by Jennifer Fickley-Baker, Social Media Manager

Happy Dec. 1!

While Christmas is still a few weeks away, the holiday parties – Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Parties, to be exact – are already underway at Magic Kingdom Park.

One of the highlights of the party for me is always Mickey’s Once Upon A Christmastime Parade, which features Disney characters in holiday attire, scented parade floats, and much more.

After seeing this video again, I still can’t decide which sight I enjoy more – the adorable line of miniature ponies that lead Cinderella’s Pumpkin Coach, or the life-size marching toy soldiers.

Remaining parties will take place Dec. 2, 4, 6, 7, 9, 11, 13, 14, 16 and 18. Day-of-event pricing is $62.95 and $57.95 for ages 3-9. Savings of $6 per ticket are available (on select dates only) if tickets are purchased in advance.

Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party Returns to Walt Disney World Resort Tonight

posted on November 8th, 2011 by Jennifer Fickley-Baker, Social Media Manager

UPDATE: We’ve released information on the 2012 edition of Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party at Walt Disney World Resort.

When I moved to Florida more than 10 years ago, something I knew I’d miss during Christmastime was snow. During my first holiday season in Central Florida, I wondered how I’d ever find the holiday spirit while surrounded by sunny skies and green palm trees. But all of that changed the moment I stepped into Magic Kingdom Park for my first Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party – and for my family and I, the holidays haven’t been the same since.

Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party at Magic Kingdom Park

Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party is a hard-ticket event that takes place after Magic Kingdom Park closes (yes, you need a separate ticket for entrance). Parties run from 7 p.m.-midnight, and during that time, guests can enjoy snow falling on Main Street, U.S.A., special holiday entertainment, additional character meet-and-greets, seasonal treats, and an illuminating performance of Holiday Wishes: Celebrate the Spirit of the Season fireworks.

Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party at Magic Kingdom Park

This year, Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade will feature an appearance by Duffy the Disney Bear, and new character meet and greets will be available, including Phineas & Ferb in Tomorrowland, the Seven Dwarfs in Frontierland and Duffy the Disney Bear in Town Square. (Entertainment is subject to change).

Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party at Magic Kingdom Park

Parties will take place Nov. 8, 9, 11, 13, 15, 18, 27, 29 and 30, Dec. 2, 4, 6, 7, 9, 11, 13, 14, 16 and 18. Day-of-event pricing is $62.95 and $57.95 for ages 3-9. Savings of $6 per ticket are available (on select dates only) if tickets are purchased in advance.

I’ll see you there!

Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party Interactive Storybook

posted on December 2nd, 2009 by Thomas Smith, Social Media Director, Disney Parks

Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party Interactive Storybook
This year, there’s a new way to experience Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party — online, through an interactive storybook. You pick the adventure.

Getting started is as simple as going to Disneyworld.com/christmasparty and entering a name. The first series of online choices is interesting and a no-brainer for me. I’m clicking the Dapper Dans for a special Christmas song. You can also check out video featuring Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade or holiday greetings from Disney friends.

After each experience, more choices appear. They include video of Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade and even snowflakes on Main Street, U.S.A. And during the journey, there are some special hidden surprises to discover. Check it out and let us know what you think.

Also, here’s a look at how Magic Kingdom Park transforms for the “Christmas Party” if you missed it and how you can buy tickets for the event.

Magic Kingdom Park Transforms for ‘Christmas Party’

posted on November 13th, 2009 by Thomas Smith, Social Media Director, Disney Parks

If you enjoyed our first time-lapse video from Magic Kingdom Park, wait until you see our latest — it’s the transformation of Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party to Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. We’re showing several nights of work at Walt Disney World in less than one minute. Blink and you’ll miss the vanishing jack-o-lanterns.

Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party is underway and as you can see, David Hartmann, art director with Walt Disney Entertainment and his team have beefed up the look of the Mickey floral in the front of the park. Also, scarecrows are being replaced by toy soldiers. They were a huge hit at Santa’s meet-and-greet and now they’ll be hard to miss in Town Square, according to David. Another new touch in Town Square will be peppermint sticks.

The Magic Kingdom Park enhancements are based on David’s experiences during trips to Disney as a child. He’s trying to inspire people to take some magic home with them.

There’s plenty to look forward to at this year’s Party. Besides the enchanted Castle Dream Lights on Cinderella Castle and Mickey’s Once Upon A Christmastime Parade, there’s a magical snow fall on Main Street, U.S.A. and live entertainment featuring Disney characters. The event runs from 7:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. on the following dates:

  • November 10, 12, 13, 15, 17, 19, 20, 29
  • December 1, 3, 4, 6, 8, 10, 11, 13, 15, 17, 18

You should know that Magic Kingdom theme park admission tickets will not allow you to attend Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. Tickets can be ordered online or by calling (407) 934-7639.
