This week, we were excited to share a new rendering of the amazing Disney Vacation Club Bungalows coming to Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort.

The 20 Bungalows will sleep up to eight guests each in a home-like setting reminiscent of the South Pacific. The re-imagining of the resort includes a plunge pool overlooking Seven Seas Lagoon, and the view of the fireworks over Magic Kingdom Park.

And we continued our “Building the Dream: The Making of Disneyland Park” series this week with a few very rare photos of Main Street Station, the popular starting point of your “grand circle tour” aboard the vintage trains of the Disneyland Railroad. The image above was taken as the framing of the building was far enough along to recognize the train station we know today.

This week, we shared the exciting news that Disneyland Resort will celebrate the opening of spectacular new “Frozen Fun” at Disney California Adventure park, featuring magical adventures with characters from Disney’s blockbuster hit, “Frozen”.

A sneak peek of many of the experiences begins Saturday, Dec. 20. The “Frozen Fun” officially launches at Disney California Adventure park starting January 7, 2015, and a new “Frozen” show makes its debut in Fantasy Faire at Disneyland park.

This week, we featured some “must-see” time-lapse videos on the Disney Parks Blog, including an amazing look at the all-new Disney’s Contemporary Resort Gingerbread Holiday Ice Castle inspired by Disney’s blockbuster film, “Frozen”.

We also kicked off a new series at Disney’s Contemporary Resort this week. Our “Room with a View” stories will feature suites at the Walt Disney World Resort that have something special in common – a spectacular view.

Our first room with a view is a Club Level 1 Bedroom Theme Park View Suite on the 14th floor of Disney’s Contemporary Resort. You can see more images as well as book a stay at the Resort in our original story.

This week, we shared several holiday surprises on the Disney Parks Blog, including the first of a new series of Disney Side live video events – a look at “A Frozen Holiday Wish” as it happens at Magic Kingdom Park. This week, we may have been chocked full of great Disney Parks Halloween stories but there were also some big updates to share with readers, including the announcement that Morimoto Asia and the BOATHOUSE dining experiences are coming to Disney Springs.

Morimoto Asia will be Chef Masaharu Morimoto’s first-ever pan-Asian restaurant featuring flavors from across the continent. This Disney Springs dining destination will include unique exhibition kitchens showcasing traditions like Peking duck carving, and dim sum when it opens in the Summer of 2015.

Also, another new concept dining experience, The BOATHOUSE, was announced for The Landing in Disney Springs. The BOATHOUSE will be an upscale, waterfront dining experience that’ll immerse guests both on land and on water when it opens in the Springs of 2015.

Also, Disney Cruise Line announced that it’s tropical itineraries are getting an extra dose of pixie dust in 2016. This week, we shared an update many of you were thrilled to read – Wandering Oaken’s Trading Post, one of the most popular parts of last summer’s “Frozen Summer Fun LIVE!” event at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, is back and staying through the holidays.

The new Wandering Oaken’s Trading Post & Frozen Snowground! can now be found on Streets of America just steps away from Studio Catering Co. and “Lights, Motors, Action! Extreme Stunt Show.” It features a larger-than-ever play area with real snow, plenty of “Frozen” merchandise, and those yummy “Frozen”-inspired cupcakes and other treats.

This week, we shared that the stars of Disney’s new animated feature “Big Hero 6,” Hiro and Baymax, are heading to Disney Parks to greet their fans in November.

At Walt Disney World Resort, guests visiting Disney’s Hollywood Studios can step inside The Magic of Disney Animation attraction to tour the lab from the San Fransokyo Institute of Technology and then meet Hiro Hamada and his huggable buddy Baymax in Hiro’s garage workshop.

At Disneyland park in California, the characters will find a home-away-from-home in a recreation of Hiro’s robotics workshop near the Starcade in Tomorrowland. Disneyland guests can also get an exclusive preview of the film at the “Special Extended Sneak Peek of ‘Big Hero 6,’” now playing in Tomorrowland’s Magic Eye Theater.

This week, we captured an unusual sight in the sky above Magic Kingdom Park – a rare lunar eclipse called a “blood moon.”

The moon added the perfect spooky atmosphere to our parks, especially Magic Kingdom Park, which is already decorated for Halloween. Photographers David Roark and Matt Stroshane were on hand to document the moon’s path over our parks.
