This week, we shared even more holiday experiences happening this season at Disney Parks as well as a special behind-the-scenes peek at how we transform Magic Kingdom Park for Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. If you missed it, take a look at what happens while you sleep.

This week, we shared several holiday surprises on the Disney Parks Blog, including the first of a new series of Disney Side live video events – a look at “A Frozen Holiday Wish” as it happens at Magic Kingdom Park. If you missed our live stream, you can watch a replay this weekend and through the holiday season.

Of course, “A Frozen Holiday Wish” is best experienced in person at Magic Kingdom Park – shows are now being presented nightly through December 31, 2014.

Also, Erin shared an update that you will be able to experience the popular nighttime spectacular “Fantasmic!” at Disneyland park with new viewing options beginning December 12. “Fantasmic!” will feature reserved and stand-by viewing as well as several all-new dining packages. This week, we may have been chocked full of great Disney Parks Halloween stories but there were also some big updates to share with readers, including the announcement that Morimoto Asia and the BOATHOUSE dining experiences are coming to Disney Springs.

Morimoto Asia will be Chef Masaharu Morimoto’s first-ever pan-Asian restaurant featuring flavors from across the continent. This Disney Springs dining destination will include unique exhibition kitchens showcasing traditions like Peking duck carving, and dim sum when it opens in the Summer of 2015.

Also, another new concept dining experience, The BOATHOUSE, was announced for The Landing in Disney Springs. The BOATHOUSE will be an upscale, waterfront dining experience that’ll immerse guests both on land and on water when it opens in the Springs of 2015.

Also, Disney Cruise Line announced that it’s tropical itineraries are getting an extra dose of pixie dust in 2016. The popular Caribbean ports Tortola and Martinique are being added to the destination lineup, and they’re returning to San Juan, Puerto Rico for another special season of Southern Caribbean sailings.

This week, we shared an update many of you were thrilled to read – Wandering Oaken’s Trading Post, one of the most popular parts of last summer’s “Frozen Summer Fun LIVE!” event at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, is back and staying through the holidays.

The new Wandering Oaken’s Trading Post & Frozen Snowground! can now be found on Streets of America just steps away from Studio Catering Co. and “Lights, Motors, Action! Extreme Stunt Show.” It features a larger-than-ever play area with real snow, plenty of “Frozen” merchandise, and those yummy “Frozen”-inspired cupcakes and other treats.

This week, we shared that the stars of Disney’s new animated feature “Big Hero 6,” Hiro and Baymax, are heading to Disney Parks to greet their fans in November.

At Walt Disney World Resort, guests visiting Disney’s Hollywood Studios can step inside The Magic of Disney Animation attraction to tour the lab from the San Fransokyo Institute of Technology and then meet Hiro Hamada and his huggable buddy Baymax in Hiro’s garage workshop.

At Disneyland park in California, the characters will find a home-away-from-home in a recreation of Hiro’s robotics workshop near the Starcade in Tomorrowland. Disneyland guests can also get an exclusive preview of the film at the “Special Extended Sneak Peek of ‘Big Hero 6,’” now playing in Tomorrowland’s Magic Eye Theater.

This week, we captured an unusual sight in the sky above Magic Kingdom Park – a rare lunar eclipse called a “blood moon.”

The moon added the perfect spooky atmosphere to our parks, especially Magic Kingdom Park, which is already decorated for Halloween. Photographers David Roark and Matt Stroshane were on hand to document the moon’s path over our parks.

This week, we officially welcomed the newest addition to our gorilla family troop at Disney’s Animal Kingdom in our weekly “Wildlife Wednesday” series. The new Western lowland gorilla is the second gorilla birth this year, and the fifth in the park’s history.

All Western lowland gorilla babies born at Disney’s Animal Kingdom have been a part of the Association of Zoos and Aquariums’ (AZA) Species Survival Plan (SSP), which ensures long-term survival of species by helping AZA-accredited zoos and aquariums manage species’ genetic diversity through detailed records of individual animals.

The 19th annual Epcot International Food & Wine Festival kicked off this weekend and we shared a few stories on the Disney Parks Blog to help during your visit, including Pam’s post featuring the top ten “must-try” new tastes at this year’s event.

Epcot International Food & Wine Festival: Brazil Marketplace

There are 35 new food offerings this year and Pam recommended 10 to look forward to tasting. At the Farm Fresh Marketplace, there’s the perfect taste of Southern comfort food: griddled “Yard Bird” (chicken thigh) with collards and a dollop of the house-made habanero sauce. The Lobster Alfredo at the Hops & Barley Marketplace also made the list. Go check out the complete list.

This week, Tom Staggs shared the exciting update that construction is starting at the Walt Disney World Resort on a brand new “Frozen” attraction at the Norway Pavilion in Epcot. The new attraction, which replaces Maelstrom, will take you to Arendelle and immerse you in many of their favorite moments and music from the film.

Tom also shared that “Frozen’s” popular characters will have a bigger presence at Magic Kingdom Park this holiday season. Queen Elsa will use her powers to transform Cinderella Castle into an ice palace every night starting in early November and Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party-goers can see Anna, Elsa, Kristoff, and Olaf in “Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade.”
