This week, Walt Disney Parks & Resorts Chairman Tom Staggs continued our MyMagic+ series on the Disney Parks Blog with an exciting update on FastPass+.

Beginning tomorrow, after guests have used their first three FastPass+ selections, they will be able to select another one at one of the kiosks located in each of our WDW parks. When they’ve used that one, they’ll be able to select another, and so on, ultimately providing guests with even more ways to customize their Walt Disney World Vacation. Tom also said that guests will be able to select and use their additional FastPass+ entitlements when they hop from park to park.

And Seven Dwarfs Mine Train achieved another milestone this week when Walt Disney Imagineering removed the final construction walls from around the attraction. Jennifer shared some of the first photos showing what the entrance will look like, including both the Standby and FastPass entrances.

This weekend, guests at Disney Parks on both coasts can enjoy an exclusive sneak peek at Walt Disney Studios’ “Maleficent,” which opens in theaters May 30. It’s playing daily in RealD 3D at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in the ABC Sound Studio and at Disney California Adventure park.

And to kick off this special opportunity, we shared an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the making of the film.

And did you see our new Disney Parks Blog series? In coming days, we’ll be sharing stories featuring some of the original attractions at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in honor of the park’s 25th anniversary.

We began the series with a look at The Great Movie Ride. Housed inside a full-scale reproduction of Hollywood’s iconic Chinese Theater, the attraction offers a trip through movie history, starting with early black-and-white “talkies” and musicals to all-time classics like “Casablanca.” Check out Jennifer’s original story to learn more.

Tom shared an update that we’ve reached an exciting milestone – we’re now providing guests who might only be visiting for the day with the ability to fully engage in MyMagic+ before their visit. Guests can register on My Disney Experience online, reserve access to some of their favorite experiences with FastPass+ and also purchase MagicBands on-site, if they choose.

This week, we invited the world to join a first-of-its-kind, online global sing-along at SmallWorld50.com to celebrate the 50th anniversary of “it’s a small world,” – the classic Disney Parks attraction that opened as a tribute to UNICEF’s work for children around the world at the 1964 New York World’s Fair.

We’ll be celebrating the anniversary on April 10 but we’ve already kicked things off at Disney Parks. Visit our original post to learn how you can participate in the celebration and create virtual “it’s a small world” dolls to share with your friends. The Walt Disney Company will donate $150,000 to benefit UNICEF in honor of the 50th anniversary of “it’s a small world,” plus $1 for every sing-along video recorded on SmallWorld50.com and another $1 for every virtual doll created on the website, up to $100,000.

Disney Parks Blog readers were also among the first to see a new trailer for Walt Disney Studios’ latest cinematic vision, “Maleficent.” And starting April 18, a special extended sneak peek will be playing daily at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in the ABC Sound Studio and at Disney California Adventure park in the naturalistic “underground” setting of the Bug’s Life Theater.

“Maleficent” stars Angelina Jolie in the untold story of Disney’s most iconic villain from the classic “Sleeping Beauty” and the elements of her betrayal that ultimately turn her pure heart to stone. “Maleficent” opens in theaters on May 30, 2014.

‘Disney Festival of Fantasy Parade’ Debuts at Magic Kingdom Park

The “Disney Festival of Fantasy Parade” officially arrived at Magic Kingdom Park and this week, we celebrated on the Disney Parks Blog with new images and video.

Jennifer shared some highlights you won’t want to miss including seeing Maleficent appear as a fire-breathing dragon, and an appearance by Anna, Elsa and Olaf (from “Frozen”) on the Princess Garden float.

And did you hear? Anna and Elsa, from Disney’s Academy Award-winning film “Frozen,” will be moving from Epcot to Magic Kingdom Park. We announced that starting on April 20, they’ll join some other Disney Royals at Princess Fairytale Hall, where Disney FastPass+ service will be available for this character greeting experience.

Elsa and Anna will appear together each day until the early evening, after which other visiting Disney Princesses will be available to greet guests.

This year’s Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival returned to the park this week, with new Muppet-themed topiaries, Outdoor Kitchens, and Flower Power concerts.

On opening day, the Disney Parks Blog showed how Kermit and Miss Piggy are appearing in topiary form with a special behind-the-scenes video. Both can be found between the Italy and the Germany pavilions with a display inspired by the new movie Disney’s “Muppets Most Wanted.”

The Flower Power Concert Series also returned this weekend at Epcot. Upcoming acts include two bands making their debut Flower Power Concert performance: Gary Lewis and the Playboys (“This Diamond Ring”) and The Alan Parsons Live Project (“Eye in the Sky”). Performances are included in park admission and take place Friday through Sunday at 5:30, 6:45 and 8 p.m.

140 Characters Formed a Hashtag at Magic Kingdom Park and Invite You and Your Family to 'Rock Your Disney Side' During a 24-hour Party to Kick Off Summer

This week, we shared a tweet that truly featured 140 characters to officially announce our bicoastal, All-Night Disney Side Party to kick off summer. And we also gave Disney Parks Blog readers a look at how Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy, Pluto and 135 of their friends gathered at Magic Kingdom Park at the Walt Disney World Resort to form the familiar shape of a hashtag for our “Ultimate Tweet.”

The “Rock Your Disney Side Party” will be a fun-filled 24-hour event at both Disneyland Resort in California and Walt Disney World Resort in Florida on May 23 where you’re invited to dress as a favorite hero or villain.

The Disney Side celebration on both coasts will feature a cavalcade of events showcasing the good-vs.-evil of classic Disney stories including character meet-and-greets throughout the parks, special entertainment, event merchandise and special food and beverage offerings.

We also hosted the Disney Parks Blog’s all-time most popular live chat this week with Imagineer Dave Minichiello. This week, Disney Parks unveiled a new collection of amazing costume creations for “Disney Festival of Fantasy Parade,” which debuts at Magic Kingdom Park in March.

'Seashell Girl' from 'The Little Mermaid' Unit in 'Disney's Festival of Fantasy Parade' 'Cha Cha Girl' from Storybook Circus Unit in 'Disney's Festival of Fantasy Parade'

The costumes are some of the most extravagant and elaborate in Disney Parks history and took almost a year to complete. The creations transpired in 10 different costume houses across eight cities and two countries, with the Creative Costuming facilities in both Florida and California among the mix.

Captain America: The Winter Soldier

And did you hear? Captain America is set to arrive at Disneyland park next month. Captain America: The Living Legend and Symbol of Courage, will be part of Innoventions at Disneyland park in Anaheim and he’ll be greeting friends and fans alike beginning on March 7.
