  • Pirates of the Caribbean is my favorite ride if I had to choose just 1. The changes that they made to the ride only made it better! They didnt take anything out they just added stuff to make it cooler and more up to date. Usually the rides match the movies they are based on and they needed to add that stuff to incorporate the movie.

That being said the Haunted House is totally different from the original ride during the holidays. Now thats a dissapointment. They change the whole ride and Im not really a big fan of the nightmare before christmas. The only good part about it is that they change it back after the holidays.

I have to say I just love all the rides but I have to mention Indiana Jones, Its a small world, Matterhorn, Thunder Mountain Railroad, Splash Mountain, Jungle Cruise, and of course Star Tours.

  • Splash Mountain! comeee onn 🙂

  • I have to admit, two of my favorites are gone.
Country Bear Jamboree with the Holiday show was wonderful, although I also very much liked the Vacation Hoedown. Don’t think Pooh is nearly as much fun. I wish they’d use those shows at WDW instead of the classic show, which I don’t care for as much.
I also miss America Sings, although that’s been gone for a long time.
Of the remaining rides, I would have to go with Space Mountain, although Soarin’ at DCA also makes me homesick for California every time I ride. A ride that can thrill me and bring me to tears simultaneously is actually doing something very right!

  • My favorite rides are Pirates of the Caribbean, The Haunted Mansion, and Splash Mountain. I do have to mention the Matterhorn, Space Mountain, and Alice in Wonderland as well. Alice only because that is my favorite cartoon Disney movie of all times. I also enjoy Sleeping Beauty’s Castle because she is my favorite princess.

  • Forgot to mention – Indy is great too! xD

  • Gotta agree with Pirates. 🙂 Over 40 years have done nothing to wear away the timeless thrill of the attraction, with its inspired scenes, advanced animatronics, immersive environments, and memorable music.

    Dead men tell no tales!

  • Hands down…Peter Pan. An original, and a favorite since childhood.

  • 1. Pirates
    2. Indiana Jones and Temple of the Forbidden Eye (orginal version where you had more time in the que)
    3. The Matterhorn
    4. Haunted Mansion (or, Haunted Mansion Holiday)
    5. Slash Mountain

Honorable Mention: Jungle Cruise, Tiki Room, Space Mountain, People Mover (bring it back!!), Star Tours, Main Street Vehicles, Big Thunder

  • Matterhorn Bobsleds are so very unique. It is a classic Disneyland attraction, dating back to the 1950’s; a rollicking ride down the icy slopes of the majestic Matterhorn. Plus, you’ve got caves, tunnels, ice, Glacier Grotto and the Abominable Snowman. Additionally, there are FOUR! waterfalls and an exceptional splashdown. AND, it’s got dual tracks that are completely separate experiences in their own right. I absolutely love the Matterhorn Bobsleds! Especially at night!

  • I also love all the rides however, I have a soft spot for the two I have loved since chilhood. PETER PAN is so beautiful flying over all the lights of London and ALICE IN WONDERLAND. I love to tell people that these are original rides and where they might not be as grand as rides like Pirates or Haunted Mansion they are ever bit as imaginative when remembering how old they are. I also love the TIKI ROOM and THE JUNGLE CRUISE which I have read were two of Wallt’s favorites..

  • I LOVE Pirates and I don’t think there are THAT many changes, sheesh! Still love it. That and the Haunted Mansion are my favorites!

  • Pirates and the Haunted Mansion has always been one of my favorites at Disneyland. For the first time this year I ate at Blue Bayou and that was neat being nestled in the Priates of Carribean ride. Although, I do think Indian Jones is moving very close to these original rides.

  • We’re heading to Disneyland in ONE WEEK! Can’t wait to ride all the rides 🙂

  • oh i LOVE Haunted Mansion!!!!!!:D

  • There is nothing like the Haunted Mansion at Christmas time!! Its incredible! I also REALLY enjoy riding on Space Mountain. Its hard not to be happy in the happiest place on earth!! 🙂

  • Haunted Mansion got a dumbing down a while back… if you were at Disneyland in the 70’s, you’ll remember that the pop-up ghosts in the Graveyard used to shoot up real fast, and without any notice… it really made you jump.

Now they make all sorts of noise BEFORE they come up from behind the tombstones and other things, and they do so REALLLLLY slowly… it’s nowhere near the frightening or startling experience it used to be.

Likely this was done to reduce the chance of heart attacks… which is a sad thing. People should know their limits and avoid rides that risk aggrevating a health condition.

Pirates got much the same treatment, but it was more to soften some of the material… I suppose too many folks voiced concern over the role of the female characters throughout the ride. Not that it was “violent” but it was much more “intense” than it is now.

Still, I like them both a lot.

  • Just like most people have stated all the rides at Disneyland are fantastic. I have two favorites of all time’s though, Splash Mountain, I love to sing Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah- along with all the characters, and I do really like It’s a Small World, I sing along with that too!! Disneyland makes a person feel like a kid again and makes you happy and that is so special to me!!!! I’ve been going there since 1959 and will keep going as long as I’m able. Donna

  • My favorite ride has to be the Indiana Jones adventure! There’s nothing like it!

  • My favorite is the Indiana Jones Adventure ride. It’s only available at Disneyland and lived up years of anticipating going on it.

  • @Sally Pirates was in no way ruined by the changes that incorporated elements of the movies back into the ride.

That being said, it’s hard for me to pick a favorite. I love Space Mountain, Pirates, Haunted Mansion, especially the holiday overlay, The Indiana Jones Adventure, all of the Fantasyland dark rides, well, not so much Snow White’s Scary Adventure, but the rest of them.

And no doubt that over at DCA, my favorite ride is Soarin’ Over California.

  • How cool is that Paul, Congratulations!!!
I think my favorite ride would be not at Disneyland, but, in California Adventure. I really enjoy Soarin’. I love it, actually. I’ve always wanted to hang glide and I feel like I’m doing that. I also love that they pipe in the smell of oranges when flying over the orange groves near Ventura Cty. I love the smell and breeze of the Pacific Ocean and the all time favorite part is getting the rush after seeing the F16s fly over head, awesome!

  • For one ride Big Thunder, but I consider Tom Sawyer’s Island one entire ride and that would be my vote. So much to do

  • ALL OF THEM!!!!

  • I voted for Pirates! No, they didn’t need to make the changes, but I like them. They don’t bother me at all. As long as they don’t change it again… 🙂

  • Mine is the Haunted Mansion I love love that ride!!

  • What’s wrong with Pirates? I think the new waterfall is VERY cool, I ‘d have to say they are moving in the right direction.

  • Pirates is my favorite ride. Ever since I was seven years old, I have always wanted to stop the boat and walk around the ride. I recently got to fulfill my childhood dream. I got cast in the most recent Disney Resorts commercial. I not only got to walk around the ride, but I got to sword fight on the ride dressed as a pirate!!!!!

    I Love Disney

  • After the changes that have been made on Pirates, I’m disgusted that anybody would vote for it as their favorite.

Space Mountain and Haunted Mansion I have no problems with.

  • As many have said before me, I love them all. Star Tours, Space Mountain, Thunder Mountain, Indiana Jones, all of them.
