Fun in the Sun Aboard the Disney Dream

Can you believe in just one year the Disney Dream will take its maiden voyage? To celebrate the beginning of the countdown we are announcing details about new experiences coming to the upper decks of the ship.

An elaborately themed interactive sports deck, whimsical water play area, and relaxing poolside oasis for adults are just some of the ways guests can have fun in the sun on the decks of the Disney Dream.

On Goofy’s Sports Deck, the magic tees off with Goofy’s Golf – a miniature golf course where “lessons” featuring Goofy and his son, Max, lead guests through nine themed holes of wacky fun. Also on Goofy’s Sports Deck, two digital sports simulators, full-court basketball and two mini-sized sports courts for little ones.

At Nemo’s Reef, little cruisers will have fun at a fanciful water-play area overflowing with pop jets, bubblers and lovable underwater friends like Nemo, Dory, Marlin and others from the Disney•Pixar film, “Finding Nemo.” Shaded for protection from the sun, the 1,500-square-foot Nemo’s Reef is a place for children to cool off and play among colorful, interactive figures that move and spray water. Take a look:

Reserved exclusively for guests 18 and older, the Quiet Cove Pool and Cove Bar is a retreat for adults to sunbathe and swim, indulge in a cool drink or enjoy a relaxing dip in a nearby hot tub overlooking the ocean.

  • I’m a single Mom with 4 kids, and is soooooooooooo relaxing to know my kids are in good hands with the Oceaneer club cast members. The kiddy “beeper” is GREAT to have in case they need me, and in the mean time I can actually RELAX for awhile. OH, by the way, most of the time, my kids do not want to leave the club, I have to convince them it’s sleep time. MUCH, MUCH, THANKS to Disney, and all their wonderful crew. I’ve been cruising with Disney since 2007, and hopefully many more years to come. The ships are just the right size. Please don’t go to mega ships,(I can go to the mall at home) keep them just as traditional, family geared, and elegant as the style you have now.We all LOVE you just the way you are.

  • It’s been 2 years since our first voyage on the Disney Magic. We wanted to get off the ship and right back on again. Hopefully we can schedule another cruise vacation soon! With my husband in the military and his deployments – it’s hard to schedule a year in advance. The Disney Dream looks beautiful – I only wish it would be available for longer cruises as it is jammed packed with so much fun to have!

  • I’ve only seen a cruise liner thru a Periscope but some day iam going to go to sea on one and enjoy myself instead of working 12 to 20 hours a day a tired Submariner 🙂

  • Wouldn’t it be awesome if Disney held a drawing for those who are celebrating their birthday’s on Jan 26, 2011, the same day the Disney Dream débuts!

  • The Disney Cruise Line just keeps getting better and better! We were aboard the Wonder a little less than a year ago now but I already want to go back and do it all over again!

  • I think the miniature golf with Goofy sounds really good (and funny). I hope the Dream’s Quiet Cove pool has waterfalls like the Wonder does. Could we maybe see some pictures of the Disney Dream’s construction in a future post?

  • Already booked! April 2011! Can not wait! As DVC members we are always looking forward to the NEW thing at Disney!

  • Looks amazing! I cannot wait to get back on a Disney Cruise and the Dream seems like the perfect choice. As usual, no detail is left out with Disney!

  • These upper deck areas sound and look great! I know my wife and I enjoyed relaxing in the Quiet Cove Pool area on the Disney Wonder earlier this month. Signals and the Cove Café were also nice places to unwind at the end of the day. I can’t wait for us to sail aboard the Disney Dream!
