Big Adventure on Main Street, USA

Big Adventure on Main Street, USA
Somehow, I doubt the bright orange Tigger hat influences this young man in any way as he carefully and slowly places his sneakered feet in just the right spots as he journeys down Main Street USA, but it is the perfect topping for this adventurous lad. I would characterize this image as a portrait of an imagination at work, (lest we forget how little is required in order to enjoy the simple pleasures of life).

  • We enjoyed viewing your posts! Maybe I’ve had more experience than most, but I could pick your work out from an extensive line-up…yours has a certain look, and beckons a second one. You are very talented, both visually through photography, and verbally through these insightful and enjoyable comments you have provided. Your grandkids and I enjoyed viewing all you have posted…again! 🙂

  • Thanks Marie- it does have its moments…

Sara- Fair question. Had I planned this photograph, I would have used a longer telephoto and a very shallow depth of field so as to visually isolate the little boy from the rest of the scene. But I didn’t plan it, and it happened right in front of me, so I had to capture it the best way I could. I then recreated (in Photoshop) that shallow focus that I feel helps direct the eye to the boy.

  • What a great reminder that you shouldn’t always make your kids stop what they are doing and pose for a picture. Sometimes real life is better!

  • Sara, you can go to the website…it is free!

  • This is SUCH an adorable photograph. I love people watching when I visit Disney and seeing little kids experience such random details of the park for the first time.

  • If I ever have children, this is the kind of photograph I want to take of them. Beautiful composition and exposure. Thank you for sharing.

  • I adore this image!(It makes me really excited to bring my boys back there this October.) Mr.Duncan, I think your job as a Disney World photographer must be SO fun!

  • Is the blur on this photo natural or photoshopped?
