We’ve been chronicling the development of “World of Color” on the Disney Parks Blog for months now, and the moment many of us have been waiting for is finally here! The world premiere of the show is tonight, and the show officially opens to guests tomorrow, June 11.
Just as we’ve been sharing behind-the-scenes photos and videos throughout the development of the show, we will continue to give you an insider’s look at the events over the next couple of days.
Here’s a preview of what you can expect to see here on the blog:
- Tonight, we’ll be taking photos of celebrities at the red carpet premiere, and we’ll share them here. For the most up-to-the-minute reports, follow us on Twitter, @Disneyland. (The carpet for the premiere event is actually a brilliant blue color to reflect the color of the star of the show: water).
- Tomorrow, June 11, we’ll share video from the blue carpet and the opening ceremony at the world premiere, and a preview of “What’s Next” at the Resort that will include some special announcements and never-before-seen photos and renderings.
- Tomorrow, we’ll also share a photo of our “World of Color” Trivia Contest Winners at the blue carpet premiere.

Is this show going to be only over the summer? Or a year-round show like Fantasmic?
Heather, I would LOVE to see a featured video about Amy Grant doing the vocals for World of Color if thats available at all.

I can’t wait. We are heading down next week. My son just flew in from So. Korea on military leave and we are surprising him and his brother with reservations at Ariel’s Grotto with dinner and the show. It is going to be a time to remember!!

I’m so jumping up and down like a 3 yr old in anticipation to go see this show. I am going to be impossible to live with until then. I am in awe of people with this kind of talent. June 27, 28, and 29th we will be at the Disneyland Resort and I want to see this show at least 2 times!!!! This show looks fantasic and I am so excited about seeing this night time extravaganza. Fantastic!! The video almost makes me cry. I went to WCA last month during my spring vacation from Japan expecting some sneak events, but… I definitely　will go again this year!!

I feel like such a dork, but I think I just watched this 10 times…I just reserved dining at Wine Country Trattoria for August 9th and have been counting down the minutes for months.

For those that haven;t discovered it yet, the online order for the boxed picnic meals is up and active! You can order up to 30 days in advance and they are only $12.99. Even though we have dinner reservations with the reserved seating for tomorrow we went ahead and got box meals for Saturday’s show. I figured it was going to take seeing this more than once to really take it in. There were people already lining up this afternoon for mad dash to the fast pass for tomorrow! I’ve been going to Disneyland since it opened in 1955 and I seriously can’t remember anything this big, except for maybe the Pirate’s Premiere being this big. The magic is back and bigger and better than ever!@

Just watched the show on Ustream tonight and the show looks wonderful. When is the soundtrack going to be available on Itunes. I have my picnic lunch reserved for Tuesday and want to here the soundtrack a couple of more times before I get there.
Thank You Disney!!! The live Ustream was AWESOME!! Please Please PLEASE consider bringing World of Color to a much larger audience down in WDW. As much as I love Fantasmic I would be ecstatic if World of Color were to replace it at Disney Hollywood Studios!
