I agree with Dave, Club Cool at Epcot is a perfect stop on a hot summer day – like today. And once inside, you’ll likely hear chatter ( maybe even a few stories) about an Italian beverage called Beverly. It’s made by The Coca-Cola Company and it has a distinct taste. I certainly remember the first time I tasted it and here are a few others who probably will too. Check it out:
Yes, some Guests crave the stuff – I’ve met a few. Of course, you can sample other Coca-Cola products from countries around the world at Club Cool. Here’s the list:
- Krest Ginger Ale from Mozambique
- Fanta Kolita from Costa Rica
- Vegeta Beta from Japan
- Kinley Lemon from Israel
- Lift Apple from Mexico
- Smart Watermelon from China
- Mezzo Mix from Germany

Yes, I’ve tried the ‘Alka Seltzer’
Favorite beverage: Fanta Kolita
Beverly is, I think, supposed to taste like the Italian soft drink chinotto. I like it but it takes some getting used to.
I did this back in jan. took my uncle to club cool and he loved beverly i even recorded he trying it for the first time just to get his reaction and it back fired as he loved the stuff. Can’t say i’m a fan though! though i do enjoy club cool very much. nice place to go for a quick break!
My favorite one from Club Cool! I also love the Fanta Kolita.
Love the lemon drink from Israel!
I actually drank 25 of them for Epcot’s 25th
Varsenik – the only one of the drinks that contains caffeine is Mezzo Mix, as it contains regular cola. The rest are caffeine free. We asked them on our last trip.
While I wouldn’t say I enjoy Beverly, it doesn’t elicit the reaction in me that it does most others. I like to say it is because of my strong Italian genes. 🙂
We love the Club Cool and it is a great way to cool down on a hot Florida day and it’s FREE! We visit WDW every year, and each time go with a different relative, and watching their reactions as they taste “Beverley” is hilarious. In this video, I especially love the kid who says its “good” and then quickly takes a drink from his water bottle!
We tried Mezzo Mix in Germany. I have to say that it wasn’t something I would want to have on a regular basis. On that same day she made us try Nutella. I can’t say that I like that too much either.
Just by the mention of Beverly, I get that “unique” taste in my mouth. I can’t wait to get there in September and trick my two kids into trying it…again! We have the Coke Museum here in Atlanta with all those same flavors, but even the Beverly somehow tastes a little better at Walt Disney World. We love Club Cool!
I LOVE Beveley! It’s just like Chinotto – bitter grapefruit – it’s fabulous!
The “trick” to enjoying Beverly is to drink it FIRST, before you try any of the other sweet drinks. You’ll find it tastes like licorice and isn’t sweet. If you drink it after one of the sweet drinks it tastes like aspirin.
I’m with Melanie on the Mezzo Mix! My husband and I loved it when we lived in Germany, and our girls got hooked on Mezzo Mix when we took them traveling. We buy Coke and Fanta and mix it half-and-half – so good!! We wish had known they have it in Club Cool. We were just at EPCOT earlier this month.
I absolutely adore the Smart Watermelon! It’s so yummy and, when it comes to the heat of the day, extremely refreshing. Beverly tastes like nail polish remover. It’s just foul. There’s actually this great shirt over at CafePress that says ‘Friends don’t let friends drink Beverly.’
I haven’t tried any since I’m not sure if they’re gluten free or not. Stupid food intolerances! I really enjoyed WATCHING the husband try Beverly, though. 😀
Whenever I take someone to Club Cool for the first time, I make them try all the other colas first and save Beverly for last because it always gets the biggest reaction! I have a few friends who liked it, but almost everyone else makes a fantastically awful face before quickly drinking something else. This video/blog brings back wonderful memories of my own first experience with Beverly!
Yes, Beverly is always a memory!
I tried Beverly once and…one was all I ever needed 🙂
Every time we go we try them all including “Beverly”. However, my favorite it Mezzo Mix. 🙂 They should make disney pins for all the flavors.
Since my name is Beverly, I was very excited to see the name on the fountain …. well, not so exicted after I tasted it. But honestly, the taste has grown on me over the years. It is a bit shocking at first becasue it is not as sweet as other sodas, but once you get over that it isn’t bad. I would honestly drink a glass of it
Love this exhibit … look forward to stopping by every time we visit Epcot !
Does anyone know if Beverly (or any of the other unusual drinks at Club Cool) contain caffeine?
I always stop and taste each time I visit EPCOT. Great place to refresh; great tastes also.
Funny stuff! I like going to Club Cool and I do have to try a sip of Beverly when we are there. I think the Apple soda from Mexico and Mezzo Mix are the best of the bunch.
I’ll be in WDW at the end of October and can’t wait to drink up all the Beverly. Yummy! ;P
It’s so cool to have a nasty drink share my namesake – the family gets a kick out of it!
My daughter, who was 6 at the time, tried it for the first time a couple years ago. She took a sip, declared that she LIKED it… and then immediately threw up all over Club Cool.
I’m one of the weird ones that actually really does like it!
Tracy – Club Cool is in the same place it has always been. It was never in World Showcase.
Everyone has to try it at least once! We celebrated our 25th anniversary last year at Walt Disney World with friends and family. All ten of us did a shot of Beverly in honor of our anniversary. LOL I once saw a guy wearing a shirt at Epcot that read “Friends don’t let friends drink Beverly”.
I want to try it XD
Very funny video.
Our first time through, my wife and I temporarily let down our “parenting guard” and went through with the kids trying everything until after about the 5th or 6th cup our girls started getting the “I don’t feel so good” look. We had to rush outside and stand near a trashcan for a while, wondering what we were thinking letting them drink so much in so short a time. The little cups fooled us. 😉
So, parents, if your kids aren’t used to soda (or lots of it) just remember moderation!
I make it a point to do a shot of Beverly every time I pass through, a kind of ritual sacrifice to the Imagineering Gods. That stuff tastes like carbonated bile.
We have been going to Club Cool or it’s former name for the last 10 years. Every year we still try the Beverly as if it will somehow taste different. It never does, but it is a famiy tradition. We do enjoy all the other flavors. Although my wife is in clear disagreement over the Smart Watermelon from China. I think it is awesome, she vehemently disagrees. We do agree on the unique “taste” of Beverly.
My favorites are Lift Apple and Kinley Lemon. I think there was another Fanta flavor from Puerto Rico that I liked also, but don’t see it listed here.
Funny!! It doesn’t make me want to try it.
Last year I took my Fiancé Andrew to WDW for his very first trip, It being my 19 trip I was sure to take him to the Cool Club!!! Everyone needs to go and experience Coke products that the would normally never have the chance to do. Well I just wish I had my camera ready when Andrew tasted the Beverly. The look on his face was both shock and disgusting at the same time. Everyone need to taste it at least once. You might even like it. My mother loves it. Chances are if you like grapefruit you will like the Beverly drink. Personally our favorite is the Watermelon. Really wish we could get that here and in a diet version. Thanks Disney for broadening our tastes buds!!!!!!!
Oh yea!!!! Beverly is actually one of my favorites!!! I also like the Smart Watermelon!!
We tried Beverly and the other Coke products at Epcot in 1999, and it was cool getting to taste all of them. (But Beverly was nasty.)
The next time we went back was in May of this year, and we had different people with us. We were looking forward to trying all the drinks again, and also introducing the drinks to the new people who went with us. We got to Club Cool a little after 7pm, but, unbeknownst to us, Club Cool had already closed at 7pm, whereas the rest of the park wouldn’t close until 9pm (or 11pm, depending on how you define the term “closed.”) We were all pretty mad that we didn’t get to try the drinks. It was one of the worst parts of the vacation, because we were looking forward to trying the drinks. We don’t understand why some parts of Epcot close before others. (Also, it seems like in ’99 that the Coke drinks were in a building in the World Showcase, which is another thing that threw us off, because we knew that parts of Future World closed early, so if we had known the joint was in Future World this time, we would have gotten to Club Cool earlier.)
My favorite is the Kinley Lemon. I love that stuff. I also like the one from Japan. My 6 year old son, however, likes Beverly! I gave it to him for his first time thinking it would be funny. But he just said it was “good”, and now gets it first every time we go into Club Cool!
The Cool Club is one of my favorite places when I’m at Epcot on a hot day. I don’t like most of the flavors of soda, but the watermelon is excellent. Beverly is awful.
omg! I can’t wait to get down there in September!
My kids were tricking people into trying Beverly when we were there last month. It was so funny.
I’ve tricked family members into drinking Beverly before. Needless to say, I was not their favorite person for the next 2.8 seconds while they swallowed. Japan’s Vegeta Beta (Watermelon) is my personal favorite.
Love the video! Thanks for the laugh today.
Beverly definitely sticks with you. I would say it’s reminiscent of an an effervescent antacid. A must to sample but it shouldn’t be the last thing you try. Vegeta Beta is a personal favorite.
Do yourself a favor and pass on the Beverly–unless you really love things that are extremely bitter– it should have a sigh–try at your own risk!!! 🙂
I was there the day they filmed this, and had just tried Beverly, and they were like “ooh! That’s what we are looking for, would you drink some more and do that again for the camera?” And I politely declined. OMG, that’s the worst tasting drink ever. BITTER as all getup. I would love to thank Disney and Coca-Cola for the chance to taste those drinks from around the world.
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the Krest Ginger Ale from Mozambique. The others are good, too, with the exception of the Beverly. EWW!!!!!!!!! The Mezzo Mix from Germany is kind of strange, but no where near as bad as Beverly.
It reminded me for some reason of the dentist. And dentist + Disney World are two things I never thought would come together.
My favorite is the Mezzo Mix. Sometimes I mix orange soda and coke at home and it tastes a lot like it.
We love to try new things when we are at WDW, but from the looks of other people’s reactions, we might pass on Beverly!! lol! Can’t wait to see you in April Epcot!
I know I’m not such a fan of the Beverly myself. I just wish we could buy bottles of some of the sodas there. I know I LOVE the Smart Watermelon from China.
I want to call Beverly an acquired taste, but I only needed to taste it once to stay away from it.
Kinley on the other hand, delicious!
