It’s once again time for a quick look at what we’ve been working on for The Disney Parks Blog. And this week, everybody loved a parade – or at least so it seemed after we announced the Main Street Electrical Parade will continue on an open-ended run at Walt Disney World Resort.
By popular demand, the parade at Magic Kingdom Park will continue when “Summer Nightastic!” ends on August 14. If you haven’t let us know what you think, please leave your comment below.
Now, here are a few other stories we posted this week:

We are so excited Disney decited to keep the parade going past August 14th. The reason being we don’t arrive until August 16th.
Thank You Disney
HOORAY! This news just made my day 🙂
I might be visiting disney world in the near future for the first time. Which parade is better in your opinion, electrical street parade or spectra parade? ive heard rave reviews for both. im curious.
I’m glad that you are extending the electric parade. I’ve gone every year since I was 3 and half. And we miss it. But my daughters have not seen it. It will be a real treat for us when we come in Oct. YAY..and we’ll be attending the not so scary halloween bash. I can’t wait to see Mickey.:)
Cool! We went in June, but I only got to see the end of Main Street Electrical Parade! We are going again for Last Tour to Endor. I don’t know if we will be able to use the after 4 convention/meeting tickets though cause that is the only way we can go in that day since we will be arriving late…:(
I’ve always LOVED the Electrical Parade & I’m soo Happy that it will be there when I bring my best friend in December!! This is her First Visit so I’m thrilled to have her get to see this Beautiful parade! All your parades are GREAT but the Electrical Parade is the BEST!!!
So excited that the parade is back!!!!! I’ll be there in December, hope it will still br going on then!!!
Whoo-hoo! Time to get strange looks on the street blaring “Baroque Hoedown” on the car stereo. Can’t wait to see it again for the first time in…longer than I care to recall 🙂
It’s the best night parade ever! I loved it as a kid, and now my girls (almost grown) love it, too. We were all so excited to see it again at WDW. The second best parade ever was the Parade of Nations at EPCOT. We loved the music so much that we bought the CD (thankfully before the CD was updated with all the talking voices). The giant drums were so spectacular and the costumes were incredible! I hope that the Parade of Nations will return sometime, too.
THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! We are coming in December (2nd trip this year) and I was hoping that the MSEP would be continuing. I have such fond memories of that parade. As a child it was one of my favorite things about the Magic Kingdom. I’ve had so much fun telling my almost 6 year old twins (who are coming for the 4th time)all about it. How will we wait until December to see it again? 🙂
I must go!
LOVED seeing the Main Street Electric Parade two weeks ago at MK. It was even more exciting introducing our childen to it. I will never forget the look on my son’s face when he saw the parade round the corner at the caste and head into Liberty Square where we were sitting. He looked at me and grinned then gave me two thumbs up and a giant smile. That smile got bigger when he saw the Eagle at the end of the parade. It was a special night for our family at Disney!
I would love to be able to share this parade, a favorite of my childhood trips to Disneyland, with my 5 year old son. We will be visiting WDW in early December, so I’m hoping that the open-ended run means it will still be there! (Fingers crossed)
You know what we would also love to see on our trip? A character meet’n greet with the characters from Phineas and Ferb. 🙂
I’m so glad that the Electrical Parade will be extended!! I am going to Disney right after Summer Nightastic ends and was really disappointed that I would miss out on a lot of the benefits. But now I won’t miss out on the main attraction!
SO disappointed that you do not have electric parade at Disneyland. Too much Pixar stuff. And that is not just me, but all the people around us as we were waiting for World of Color show. As season ticket holders, I really miss it. Also, I hope you will keep Aladdin indefinitely. Truly a classic….and again same sentiment from everyone we talked to.
