The incessant hum of vuvuzelas may be missing, but several elite youth soccer players will get a World Cup type of soccer experience when they travel from Walt Disney World Resort to London to represent the United States against several European amateur teams.
The all-expense-paid trip for these 17-under players is one of the perks of being selected to the Disney Soccer Showcase All-Star team. Thanks to support from Adidas and Chelsea FC, the team trained at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex at Disney before heading off to the UK to take on a slew of international competition, plus attend matches between Chelsea FC, Manchester United and England’s National Team – a once-in-a-lifetime experience for any youth soccer player.
