by , Public Relations Manager

Disney’s Night of Joy is less than a month away and the excitement is building. Throughout the summer, artists have been stopping by the Vacation Kingdom and we’ll be showing some exclusive video of their visits here on the Disney Parks Blog in advance of the event.

Today’s video is from Fervent Records’ Christian hip hop sensations Group 1 Crew.

Blanca, Manwell and Pablo, who hail from Central Florida, burst onto the Christian music scene in 1996 and haven’t slowed down a bit. They stopped by the Magic Kingdom recently; and, after a little fun on Space Mountain and a special meeting with their pal Goofy, the band chatted about their new EP Spacebound.

Comments

  • bring something like this to California please!

  • With all due respect, why is a two day Christian concert series an official hard ticketed Walt Disney World event? Mr Stowall please take this opportunity to explain. I have never understood this.

  • I think this is an awesome event, just wish we could go this year. It needs to be a hard ticket event, look what great bands you are getting to see. Third Day, Mercy Me, just to name a few. If you went to see them in concert it would cost a lot more, plus you have the benefit of the park! This way the park is exclusive to only the people who want to see the bands and appreciate that they are there Praising the Lord!

  • My wife & I are anxious to attend this event. We’re pleased the folks at WDW have once again included this venue in their summer lineup.

  • I think this is wonderful!

  • Michele,
Disney World hard ticketed events include Mickeys Not So Scary Halloween Party, Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party and Princess and Pirate Party. These are all Disney related. Then there is Night of Joy which is a Christian rock band party.
I’m just trying to figure out how Night of Joy fits in with the other Disney World special events which are non religion specific. No one has addressed this question yet.

  • They should add House of Heroes to the lineup!

  • OH NO! What happened to Francesca Battistelli? Is she going to be too close to her due date? I was afraid of that. She was the number one draw for me coming this year. RATS!

    • Unfortunately, Francesca couldn’t be with us this year. She and her husband are having a baby – which is great news. They are such a great couple. But their baby is due around Night of Joy time. So, we have added the Canadian Christian rock group Thousand Foot Krutch.

  • To address your comment Paul:

Walt Disney is a private company, so there is no justification required on their behalf as to why they may offer an event such as Night of Joy. This event requires a separate ticket purchase; therefore, no average guest simply visiting for the day will be “subjected” to the performances by the guest bands. It is simply an option Disney has decided to provide to it’s potential guests.

  • Night of Joy and Grad Nights have been hard ticket events for over 25 years.

  • This is awesome. I didn’t even know it existed! Definitely bring it to Southern California!

  • I would not like this in California. Please keep it on the East Coast. Sounds really lame. I prefer good music. Ha.

  • Great line up! We have been to Disney during Night of Joy for the last 4 straight years and are so THANKFUL Disney offers this amazing line up at our favorite place on Earth!

  • Traveling all the way from ILLINOIS to rock Disney with all these amazing Christian Bands:)

  • We are coming again this year and I am so excited but now seeing the schedule, I am a little upset! Why are some groups playing at the same time on different stages, like Casting Crowns and Tenth Ave. North both at 9:45, and neither are playing 2 concerts so you could try to make the 2nd one of one of them? We have been the last 2 years and many of the artists play 2 different times, but this year it looks like not very many are playing twice in the night. As much as the tickets cost, and as far as people travel, I really hate to be there and miss an artist I really want to see because they are playing at the same time as another group I want to see. Please tell me this isn’t the final schedule!!

  • Is Night of Joy SOLD OUT? The Night of Joy page is Down and I cant get thougt the Phone lines.

  • Charles you and your staff do an amazing job putting this together each year and I’m proud that Disney has the courage in today’s secular climate to continue providing this opportunity for those who appreciate it.
