Do you want to get a sneak peek at the medals for the inaugural Disney Wine and Dine Half Marathon Weekend? We just released them, so take a look and let us know what you think.
The first medal is for finishers of the half marathon, while the second medal (below) is for those who compete in the relay.
Both races will begin at 10 p.m. on October 2 at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex and finish at World Showcase inside Epcot. The race is already sold out, so if you didn’t sign up already, you can still get into the Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend events. Just go to disneyenduranceseries.com.

It’s too bad Disney didn’t allow voting for this race’s medal like they did for the January marathon.
Now these are nice medals. If I could get to WDW for this event I would.
They always lure me in with the “inauguaral” medals! I will be adding this to my Disneyland 1/2 Marathon and Princess 1/2 Marathon inaugural medals.
Very sad that Disney would choose to leave the “Inaugural” and the “date” off the medal for the relay runners!!!! The medals are super important to most of us and the fact we make it all the way to Disney to participate means we really appreciate collecting them at the finish! I was so disappointed I missed the chance to do the relay before I saw it was full, but after seeing the medal, I’m going to be much happier collecting my cute little 5K one instead. Certainly hope Disney keeps these comments in mind for future events. ALWAYS DATE THEM, and ALWAYS put INAUGURAL or FIRST on events being done the initial year!
Agree with Shannon from TN. My husband and I are also running the relay. The relay medal should state somewhere the date and that it’s from the inaugural race. I think it should emphasis the inaugural aspect because, I believe, this is the 1st time Disney has had a relay 1/2 marathon of any kind. We may not be running the full 13.1 but we are still part of this new race event.
So awesome! I’m not running this year, but I’ll be at the after-party to admire all these pretty medals!
Crystal – The middle trinket is the logo for the event (two shoes with a wine glass silhouette in the middle).
I am doing the half (non-relay) and love the medal. It reminds me of the last Race for the Taste medal. I love the Spaceship Earth background too. I am puzzled why the inaugural was removed for the relay group. Maybe it is on the lanyard? It looks like the lanyards are different from the little peek.
Good Job Endurance Team!!!!!
I see cheese and grapes but what’s the middle trinket?
I agree with Shannon! I think the relay medal should say inaugural with the date. It is still the inaugural food and wine half marathon relay! They are cute medals though.
My husband and I are doing the relay this October. We are so excited to be in the inaugural race. I noticed that the “inaugural” section was removed for the relay. Does it say it anywhere else? Or the date? We are still a part of this race too and it would be nice to have those on our medals to commemorate our teamwork.
I’m totally doing this next year!
