The Holiday season has started at Disney Parks, with Holidays at the Disneyland Resort and Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party beginning this week. As we begin celebrating, we’re taking a look back at Holidays 2009 at Disney Parks.

Are you celebrating the Holidays at Disney Parks this year? Let us know how in the comments.

Top 5: Holidays 2009 at Disney Parks

  1. Disney Parks Unveils ‘Small World’ Holiday Spot – Last November, we launched a new holiday television spot and shared it with you first on the Disney Parks Blog.
  2. Your Favorite Part About Celebrating The Holidays At Disney Parks Is… – What do you like best about Holidays at Disney Parks? See what guests had to say.
  3. Magic Kingdom Park Transforms for ‘Christmas Party’ – This time-lapse video showed the transformation of Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party to Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party at Magic Kingdom park.
  4. Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World – Morning To Night – Take a very special look at Main Street, U.S.A., decorated for the Holidays.
  5. Disney Characters Decorate Disneyland Park Through the Years – Last year, we shared a video of holiday decorations at Disneyland park from the ‘60s through the ‘80s. Take a look at the Christmas trees from different years.

  • We go every year during the holidays and always tell our friends that it is the best time to go. We love the lighting of the castle, Osborne lights and Candlelight Processional. All of the decorations around the park and outfits on the characters are great. Looking forward to it again this year!

  • Oh… this is my favorite date night of the year. The processional, the dancing lights… the entire feel of the park. All of it is magical. We go early in the day and stay til it closes. We stroll, eat, take pictures and just lose ourselves in the holiday magic like only Disney can create.

  • I’d love to come and see the park all dressed up for the holidays. I found out about the “Give a Day – Get a Day” program too late this year to be part of the 1,000,000 guests. I’m hoping that this beautiful offer will be available in 2011. Here is my sincere hope that you will do that again!!!

  • We have been to Disneyworld 17 times but this will be the first time at the holidays. Arriving Saturday after Thanksgiving for 9 day stay at the Riverside. Will be seing MVMCP, Candlelight Processional, Osborne Xmas lights and La Nouba. We can’t wait!

  • Attending Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party and the Candlelight Processional have become a family tradition.

  • I’ll be celebrating the holidays in Disney in 15 days. Got tickets to MVMCP, reservations for a Candlelight Processional Package, and will be seeing the Osborne Spectacle of Lights on our first night there. Can hardly stand to wait!

  • My friend and I are coming down the Sunday after Thanksgiving and staying for a full week. I cannot wait! Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, the Osborne Dancing Lights, the Holidays Around the World… it’s going to be spectacular!

  • We arrive in Disney Land on the Sunday before Thanksgiving! It’s the first trip for my kiddos & my husband! I cannot wait to share Disney with them!

  • We will be celebrating the holidays with family. We will also have an exchange student from Italy. I hope he loves it as much as we do. Look out Mickey…here we come!

  • We are coming down on Dec 26th to Jan 2nd. We have never been down during the holidays and are so excited to see all of the decorations.

  • We are not making it to Disneyland during the holidays, however, our Christmas present to our grown kids is a trip to Dland in February. I can not wait to give it to them. I already have decoy gifts wrapped “proving” that I have been shopping for other-than-dland presents. And every now and then, they let their disappointment accidently show thru. Giving really is better then receiving. 🙂

  • Coming down for Magic & Merriment!

  • We’re going to be at DW in December. Really excited. We’re wondering if the Magic Kingdom Christmas parade (the one at the Christmas Party) happens on nights when it’s not a the Christmas Party. In other words, do we have to go to the Christmas party to see the parade?
