Acting much like Santa’s helpers, a group of Walt Disney World Resort VoluntEARS made a special delivery this morning that’s sure to warm the hearts of many children this holiday season.
With approximately 20,000 brand new toys in tow, VoluntEARS joined Mickey Mouse and Duffy the Disney Bear in giving a sizable donation to the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve’s Central Florida Toys for Tots drive.
Cast members have spent the past few weeks collecting tons of new toys as part of Walt Disney World Resort’s annual effort to support the Toys for Tots campaign. I always get a thrill out of gathering toys for Toys for Tots and love to see the donations as they come in. This one needs a lotso love.
In addition to contributing toys, Disney VoluntEARS have given thousands of hours toward helping the U.S. Marines register families in need, sort and stock toys and assist with toy distribution.
This year, Central Florida Toys for Tots expects to assist 7,200 families from Orange, Osceola and Seminole counties in celebrating the holiday season with gifts for more than 20,000 children. The annual toy drive is meant to send a message of hope to youngsters by ensuring they have at least one new gift to open during the holidays.

I love seeing Mickey and Duff Bear help out! I also love seeing the smiles on the faces of the voluntEARS and soliders. It’s amazing how such a simple thing can bring joy to someone’s day. It’s memories like that that last a lifetime, and it’s memories like that that Disney is all about. Happy Holidays everyone!!
