Another Look at ‘Taste of Disney’ Series

We got lots of fun feedback on the post on the Mad Hatter Tea Party cupcakes, so here’s another. This time, my daughter Katie and I headed over to Sanaa at Kidani Village at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge, where one of the cultural reps took Katie on a tour of the dining room to explain all the beautiful design pieces, and then I got a peek in the kitchen with Chef Bob Getchell to see just how they make that divine naan bread. The secret is two tandoor ovens – take a look and learn a little African history, then come with me in the kitchen.

We hope the new “Taste of Disney” series for Disney.com will continue – tell us what you’d like to see! To see the other three videos, go to http://disney.go.com/disneyfans/taste-of-disney.

  • This is my favourite section of the DisneyParks blog and since you ask, what I’d love to see is at least one recipe with every post that pictures the mouth-watering Disney food and drinks. I read the descriptions and see the pictures but know it will be months before I can be there myself. Would love to try some of cocktails you featured at home and some of the dishes from the Disney Cruise ships.

  • Guest at the park do not get a chance to see how the flavors of Disney are created. It is wonderful that you are sharing cooking techniques and insight into just how wonderful a Disney dining experience can be. Having watched chefs cook with a tandoor oven, I can say that it is culinary ballet, all about timing and rhythm.

  • So glad you visited Sanaa for your Taste of Disney series! It is one of my favorite restaurants at WDW and I really enjoyed learning more about it.

  • I love this vid!my mom and I are going to disneyland tomorrow just the two of us.she’s always working for the family so do I. we never have time for us.so i finally convince her.I’am excited!:)

  • Love love love watching these! And so does my son! Please keep it up.

  • I’d love to hear/see more of The Wave at the Contemporary. It’s on my list of “maybes” for my next trip. The menu seems very fresh and interesting.

  • My 11 year old son and I LOVED the cupcake round and this is great too! We are enjoying the “Taste of Disney” very much and we always enjoy making something out of their cookbooks. Keep it up!

  • I love Sanaa – we went there for the first time on our last trip and had such a blast. Aside from the amazing food and atmosphere, it was great to be able to sit and watch the animals while we ate.

  • Living on the west coast I always go to Disneyland, but your new series really makes me want to visit WDW for the food alone. Thank you so much!
