What a week!
On Sunday morning, the Disney Dream returned from her four-night maiden voyage to the Bahamas, a cruise filled with smiles and laughter from the many veterans and first-time Disney Cruise Line guests aboard our newest ship.
After stopping in Nassau on Thursday and a leisurely day at sea Friday, on Saturday the ship visited Castaway Cay, Disney’s private island, for some sun-soaked fun among its white-sand beaches and turquoise waters.
Guests made the most of the sunshine, clear skies and many enhancements we’ve recently added like Pelican Plunge, a 2,400-square-foot floating platform with two corkscrew water slides.
Back on the ship, on Friday night we presented an updated version of our popular stage show “The Golden Mickeys: A Timeless Tribute” in the Walt Disney Theatre. On Saturday, we proudly debuted an all-new production, “Disney’s Believe,” which was met with boisterous applause at all three performances.
On behalf of the ship’s crew members and the many cast members who support the Disney Dream back on land, thank you to all the maiden voyage guests for sharing the fun with us! For everyone else who’ll be sailing with us soon or is maybe thinking about taking their first Disney cruise, we hope you’ve enjoyed these exclusive reports on the Disney Parks Blog and Twitter.

DEAR D.C.L. STAFF.
SO ENJOY ANY PICTURES YOU SHARE OF THE NEW DREAM. HAVE BEEN TO CASTAWAY CAY IN 2007 BUT………..NEVER GOT OFF THE SHIP AS IT WAS SO VERY HOT AND HUBBY HAD TROUBLE BREATHING BUT THE 2 GRANDAUGHTERS NEVER RETURNED UNTIL 15 MIN. BEFOR THE SHIP WAS TO CAST OFF. THEY HAD A BALL. WE SAW THE ISLAND FROM THE DECKS AND I HAVE TO SAY AS WE SPENT THE DAY ON THE SHIP WE SAW SOME OF THE INTERNAL WORK THE CREW DOES TO KEEP THEM SPOTLESS. WE WATCHED A MAN IN HARNESS HIGH UP ON A SCAFFOLD CLEANING THOSE FANTASTIC GLASS LAMP DECORATIONS………….IT GAVE NEW MEANING TO: I DON’T DO WINDOWS” HA HA
PLUS WE ENJOYED THE AC ON BOARD AND A WONDERFUL LUNCH SO THERE IS SOMETHING FOR EVERYONE.
WE SAIL AGAIN IN APRIL ON THE DREAM THIS TIME AND FINGERS CROSSED THE TEMP. WILL BE GOOD ENOUGH FOR HUBBY TO GO ON THE ISLAND……..GOT TO DO IT!!!!!!!
BUT………..FOLKS……………..PLEASE, PLEASE……TELL ME THAT PIRATE SHIP WILL BE BACK THERE? WHERE IS IT? WHAT HAPPENED? TO AWAKE AT THE ISLAND AND OPEN THE DRAPES TO SEE THAT PORATE SHIP REALLY MADE A HUGE CARRIBBEAN PIRATE ISLAND EFFECT. OUR GRANDAUGHTERS JUST GASPED TO START. WAS SUCH FUN. PLEASE TELL US IT WILL BE BACK! SO ANXIOUS TO GO ON THE DREAM

Can’t wait – sailing on June 12th. The ship looks spectacular. We are combining our trip into a land/sea trip and can’t wait to get there for a much needed escape reality vacation.
This is so awesome DCL. We all wanted to be on the maiden voyage but of course not possible so this was the next best thing. We are going on our 2nd DC in June and I am bringing my best friend and my youngest daughters best friend along with my oldest daughters best friend and I have my best friend hooked. The show on the wonder of Toy Story was OUTSTANDING so I am sure the Believe is going to be the same. Love what you did the Castaway Cay. thanks again.

My wife and I were on the maiden voyage and it was FANTASTIC!! Thank you to all of the Disney crew and imagineers for giving us such a terrific ship to enjoy. I highly recommend the Dream to anyone who wants to experience the very best that cruising has to offer. We have sailed on the Magic and the Wonder and they are great ships as well.
