With “Disney Junior – Live on Stage!” making its debut today at Disney California Adventure park, we thought it would be fun to ask some of the show’s “biggest” fans what they like about it. Take a look at this video for a peek at “Jake and the Never Land Pirates” and to see what kids think about this interactive experience.

Along with Jake and his pals, “Disney Junior – Live on Stage” brings back cast members from three audience favorites – “Mickey Mouse Clubhouse,” “Handy Manny” and “Little Einsteins.” The production is jam-packed with music, dancing, beloved characters and Disney storytelling.

Dan Fields, creative director for the show, said it was exciting to be able to add Jake and his pals to the production within a month of their appearance on Disney Junior.

He added: “‘Disney Junior – Live on Stage!’ is the only place where Mickey and friends are the same size as toddlers, so the show is very approachable and fun for young guests and their families. The Disney characters directly ask the audience to be part of the action. Plus, there are more than a dozen musical moments in the show, so it’s pretty action-packed if you’re four or five years old!”

The new television creation Disney Junior launched in February, introducing “Jake and the Never Land Pirates” to children across the country. The park production opened at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Florida earlier this month.

What do you think of the new marquee at Disney California Adventure park?

  • I love the new marquee! It looks great!

Jake and the Never Land Pirates is a cute little show. Disney Junior Live on Stage is a great show for kids.

  • Jake and the Neverland Pirates is probably one of the best things Disney has come out with for the preschool set in the past few years, it’s entertaining and educational without being overly patronizing. It’s great.

  • My kids liked it, but they were upset that the “Hot Dog” song wasn’t played…probably because I assumed it was coming up and got them all excited, and then the show just ended without it.

  • I have 2 boys. 6 yr and 3 yr that never miss Jake and the Neverland Pirates they play all the games via computer and even pretend play it. I had to go buy swords, gold, and even a hook for my 3yr old that says he’s Capt Hook. We live in FL. So tell me will this ever come to WDW?? If so..when? I’d be planning a trip to WDW to see this as my boys screamed at this video!! Praying it comes our way.

  • i miss the old version with stanly and bear in the big blue house and jo jo circus guess i am getting old

  • Jessica–
Yes, this show is also at WDW at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. It opened there earlier this month.

  • Lovely!

  • I miss the Pooh sceen that Jake replaced.

  • I absolutely love the new marquee! It’s amazing how a few flourishes make a difference. The Disney Theater sign looks classy and classic.

The addition of the Jake and the Never Land Pirates sequence is fun and it’s neat to see Captain Hook and Smee in puppet form. 🙂 You can tell the cast members are all proud of the new theater and show.

Any chance, though, of having Jake come out to do meet-and-greets as I heard he will be doing at Disney’s Hollywood Studio in Florida?

  • We went on opening day at DCA because we are fans of the old show and my kids couldn’t wait for the new show. I have to say that we were completely disappointed in the “new” show. The only thing new was Jake and the Neverland Pirates. Little Einsteins isn’t even on Disney Junior where we live, so why is it still in the show? The rest of the show was exactly the same. I heard lots of moans from moms in the audience who expressed the same disappointment as we did. Disney could have at least changed the story line a little bit.

  • Little Einsteins is still on in my area, but its on VERY early in the morning.
