I don’t know how many of you believe in luck, magic, unicorns, or even double rainbows, but this month you can be on the lookout for all of these, plus a little more. What does this all mean? Well, I’m here to tell you, there are some pretty cool events and releases coming up in March and I can guarantee you won’t want to miss them.
Sci–Fi Academy
Have you joined the ranks of the Sci-Fi Academy yet? This year’s trading event will be a blast to the past as well as a foray into the future. Tickets went on sale March 1, and if you haven’t had the chance to check out all of the galactic offerings available, do it today. My favorite pieces so far are the Mechanical Kingdom “Steampunk” Map Set, the Penny Arcade Mystery Collection and the Stand-Up Pin Set – 8 Bit Mickey. Have I geeked out too much? I mean, what’s not to love?
Clover-licious
If you’re “lucky” enough to pick up this month’s treat, you won’t regret it. Freshly made for you this month and straight from the candy kitchens is a St. Patrick’s Day-themed apple and marshmallow treat. So if you are looking for something sweet to eat on March 17, stop in to Candy Palace or Marceline’s Confectionery.
St. Patrick’s Day Offerings
If you’re hoping to find the pot of gold at end of the rainbow this year, let us help you do it in style. There are some great offerings “in store” for you, and fellow blogger Steven Miller had fate on his side. We had a coin toss to see who would be the one to show off this year’s St. Patrick’s Day “must have” items, and he won. So keep watching the Disney Parks Blog; it won’t disappoint.
Robert Olszewski Signing
On the schedule to appear at the Disneyana Shop this month, (March 19, from 9-11 a.m. to be exact) is miniaturist Robert Olszewski. For those of you who have collected other sculptures from Olszewski’s Main Street, U.S.A., Collection, or from the attraction series, this piece will be probably be a dream come true. This is the first time that Olszewski has re-wound time to give us a glimpse of the “House of the Future.”
Have you collected any of Olszewski’s pieces?
Precious Moments
Last but not least this month, both Walt Disney World Resort (March 25) and Disneyland Resort (March 26) will introduce a new Disney Theme Park exclusive sculpture and ornament. Dara will be blogging later this month about these new releases and the events that will be taking place on both coasts. So save the dates and be on the lookout for more information.
I don’t know about you, but with all of these events, my calendar is full. So be sure to add these releases to your calendar before you miss out. I have so much more to share with you this month, including an interview with Designer Tarina Tarantino, some hidden mysteries of Main Street, U.S.A., and even a little bit of good old-fashioned magic, so I better wrap this up and get started on my next post. Where can you find details on some of the events and releases mentioned above? Get all the details at www.ArtofDisneyParks.com.

I love Olszewski’s work! I have a question, is he going to be in Disneyland or Walt Disney World on December 19th because I am going to be at Walt Disney World on the 19th and I would love to see some of his art, and maybe even see him.
Any idea if the Olszewski item will be made available on disneystore.com as the Event Servies link on Art Of Disney is only for US/Canada guests. I appreciate the item is intended for those who can get to the Parks, but the online restrictions just create a market for eBay sellers.
Nice piece and I hope to get one!
I have always loved the House of the Future! Well done, Bob!!! Also, my daughter Ashley just started working at Disneyland with the Disney College Program. She is my lucky charm at the park!
Oh, please keep us posted on any Disney Unicorn items. The “Animal Kingdom” parking lot (and lack of Buttercup merchandise) is not enough. 😉
I was nine years-old when I last saw THE HOUSE OF THE FUTURE! I just LOVED the attractions that fascinated my parents. I used to wave googbye to it as I exited my favorite land… TOMORROWLAND! I can even remember seeing it on WONDERFUL WORLD OF COLOR before the Summer finally came, and I got to do the walk thru IN-PERSON. What a thrill it was to see a glimpse into the future. Real Disney Magic!
Anything happening this weekend???
I read that when they tried to take down the original House of the Future with a wrecking ball all it did was bounce off. Now thats funny!!!
I wish those Penny Arcade pins were actual games!
