The hitchhiking ghosts have found new ways to interact and play with you. And today, Imagineers are sharing their stories on how it all came together. Using some of the newest and most innovative technologies, you’re placed at the center of the story right in your “Doom Buggy” at the Walt Disney World Resort. It’s amazing, check it out.

  • My husband and I experienced the changes shortly in April and we loved them. They fit in with the changes done to the inside of the mansion a couple of years ago. Imagineers you’ve made Walt proud once again. Thanks and keep dreaming!

  • Remember everyone;

    Walt Disney WANTED Disneyland to change, and that should be true for every Disney park.

    Change is not necessarily a bad thing! 🙂

  • I got to experience this last weekend, and it was a surprise beacuse I had not yet read this article. I am a Disney purest and don;t normally like things changed, but this was fun and stayed in the spirit of the ride, a lovely addition!! 🙂

  • I agree with Robert;

    Disneyland’s Haunted Mansion does not need an interactive queue at this time. However, Disneyland should really get this new hitchhiking ghost effect, it would really give the attraction a breath of fresh air.

  • Amazing! Nice work Imagineers!

  • I am excited to see the new changes on the haunted mansion ride!

  • Please bring the Hitchhiking Ghosts to Disneyland, but not the interactive queue

  • Disneyland too please!

  • Amanda–
    Constance fits in just fine with the rest of the mansion. Both Madame Leota and the singing busts are projected effects just like Constance.

    Walt Disney wanted Disneyland to change, to reflect public tastes and new advancements in technology. That should ring true for every Disney park.

  • Nicely done

  • Its a real shame that the new hitchhiking ghost effects are not at Disneyland.

    Please don’t forget about Walt’s original park!

  • Any chance that this will be added to Disneyland next year when they remove the NBC from Haunted Mansion?

  • I fail to see how computer generated imagery is meant to look better than physical effects, props, or reflections.

    And once again, as with Constance, the new effect does not fit in with the rest of the Haunted Mansion.

  • I want this at Disneyland too! The Magic Kingdom has been getting so great extra details that the original could use as well. Totally loving this.

  • This is something to be excited about and WDI to be proud of. Flat out I thought the interactive queue was out of place in the story, although it was also well done. Congrats on this especially since it clicks on all cylinders!

  • looks cool, but i hope they keep the one in anaheim as it is…

  • Can’t wait to see the new updates when we visit in June!!

  • just got to experience this first-hand last week, and the new effects are amazing, and they did a great job of having them blend with the existing attration! LOVED IT!!
