We have some news to share from Tokyo Disneyland following last month’s earthquake. The Tokyo Disneyland theme park, Tokyo Disneyland Hotel and Disney’s Ambassador Hotel are all scheduled to reopen to guests this Friday, April 15. A portion of every ticket sold through May 14 will be donated to the Japanese Red Cross and the park will operate during daylight hours only in an effort to conserve power.

Tokyo DisneySea and Hotel MiraCosta will remain closed but officials with The Oriental Land Company (owners and operators of the Tokyo Disney Resort) are working to reopen both as soon as possible.

Please check back here on the Disney Parks Blog for future updates from Tokyo Disney Resort.

  • Thanks for the update!

  • Thank you for the update. I have only read great things about the Tokyo Disney folks and their response when the earthquake hit. I’m sure the reopening of the park will be a tremendous morality boost for everyone there. Prayers and blessing for all of the Tokyo Disney folks and for all the people of Japan…

  • One of my dreams is to visit the Tokyo Disney parks in the near future. So sad for the people that are suffering in Japan, but glad to see that they are already moving forward.

  • I’ve watched the videos of the Tokyo Disneyland cast members and have to say that I am blown away by the heart, respect and genuine kindness I observed even during one of their nation’s greatest disasters, they still kept the magic alive.

There is something very special about Disney Cast Members. They are unique people with big hearts and a warmth to them I am remiss to find in any other line of business anywhere else in the world. Every time my family and I visit Disneyland the cast make us feel like old friends and that is a big reason why we go to Disney, your people are the world’s kindest and don’t hear it enough.

  • My best smile for all the guests.
From Tokyo Disneyland Hotel and Disney’s Ambassador Hotel cast.

  • What a heartwarming news. This is why I love Disney from the very bottom of my heart.

  • Hi Thomas! With what happened last month, will Fantasmic! for Japan be affected in any way?

  • This is great news. I have read that 50% of all tourists to Tokyo go to Tokyo Disneyland. I will be one of them. It will the 5th Disneyland park I will have visisted this year and I am excited to go and show my support. I have heard of people not wanting to go to Tokyo after the earthquake, but I say we should keep our flgiths and hotel plans to go to Tokyo Disney and give some of our tourist dollars to help out the recovery.
