Mickey’s Soundsational Parade

Music will fill Disneyland park tomorrow, when “Mickey’s Soundsational Parade” makes its debut. The parade will kick off Disney Soundsational Summer, which will also include the openings of The Little Mermaid ~ Ariel’s Undersea Adventure and Star Tours, along with new experiences at the Disneyland Hotel and Paradise Pier.

“Mickey’s Soundsational Parade” will feature favorite Disney characters, including Aladdin, Ariel, Peter Pan and more, all led by Mickey Mouse. With unique rhythms and instruments, they will tell the story of Disney music as drumlines, percussion teams and jazz horns bring a new energy to each storyline.

Nine newly designed float units, each telling its own musical story, will travel from Main Street, U.S.A., to “it’s a small world.” Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Pluto, Chip ‘n’ Dale and Goofy get the party started with a six-member drumline, followed by characters from Disney’s classic film, “Aladdin,” including Genie as Drum Major and six cymbal dancers.

From there, the parade goes “Under the Sea” with a distinctly Caribbean-style sound including steel drums and marimbas, and on to the spicy sounds of Latin America with The Three Caballeros.

Next, a grand procession of Disney Princesses, including Belle, Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella and Snow White, is followed by Rapunzel’s tower rising overhead. Then, jungle drums sound the arrival of Simba, who is perched majestically atop Pride Rock.

Princess Tiana glides past next on a classic riverboat surrounded by Mardi Gras dancers beating tambourines in time to a New Orleans jazz beat.

Adventure is waiting in Neverland as Peter Pan, Captain Hook and Mr. Smee are joined by Tinker Bell, who is playing a rhythm on mushrooms instead of drums. Finally, Mary Poppins and Bert bring “Mickey’s Soundsational Parade” to a close, along with chimney sweeps performing a broom dance amid the rooftops of London.

“Mickey’s Soundsational Parade” begins tomorrow at Disneyland park! Please be sure to check the Disneyland park entertainment schedule for parade times.

  • I’m looking forward to seeing it this weekend. 🙂

  • This looks so magical O: Wish I could go! Hopefully I will be able to see it in the future~

  • I can not wait unit my DLR trip in August! I have booked 5 nights at the Grand Cal. Planty of time to see all the new attractions!

  • Will there be a livestream event for this parade like World of Color?

  • Any news on whether or not this is going to be coming to Florida as well? I’d love to see it at Disney World.

  • I’ve heard lots of great things about the new parade! Hope to catch it tomorrow!

  • I’m quite excited for the Peter Pan float<3

  • Break a leg, Disneyland!! Your day parades are always amazing! Can WDW please get something like this? It looks stale to be using the same parade floats 10 years later. New music, new outfits, and a paint job do not make a new parade, just a recycled one. =)

  • This looks way cooler than the Magic Kingdom daytime parade…we Florida regulars are very jealous.

I love seeing more “Princess and the Frog” in the parks…Louis is awesome!

  • Are there any new parades schedules for Disney World this year? We are coming in September. I think Hollywood Studios should bring back the parade with the Cars characters!

  • This looks so fun, what a exciting parade.
Huge fan of the music of Princess and the Frog too!
Hope it’ll come to Walt Disney World.

  • I saw the media premiere yesterday, (thursday). It is awesome! I just wish that they could send a new parade to Disney World.

  • Parades and Disney go hand in hand and this looks like a great one! I just wish we could see a little video…New England is so far away from California. The visuals are amazing and I am sure the music would have me dancing at my computer.
