We’re getting ready for high-seas adventure here at the Disneyland Resort with the World Premiere of “Pirates of the Caribbean – On Stranger Tides” at Disneyland park on Saturday.

Tickets to the event sold out in three days, with all proceeds benefiting the Boys & Girls Clubs of America. If you’ve been to Disneyland park recently, you might have noticed that we’ve been preparing for the park’s first 3D outdoor World Premiere ever.

We’re building a 90-foot-wide, six-story-tall motion picture screen on an island created especially for this event.

A state-of-the-art outdoor amphitheater – fully carpeted with stadium seating – is being built right on the Rivers of America just outside of the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction.

Watch for a recap of the World Premiere of “Pirates of the Caribbean – On Stranger Tides” on Monday, with photos from the “black” carpet – including stars from the film and other special guests.

  • How I wish Fantasmic and World of Color had seating just like this so my little ones can see the show really well. WDW has stadium seating…why can’t Disneyland?

  • My daughters and I wished we could have went!!! Our youngest daughter is a HUGE fan of Johnny Depp! Can’t wait to see the follow-up report!!!

  • went to world’s end world premiere! would give anything to be there tomorrow! BEST DAY OF MY LIFE! Have fun whoever goes!!!! 🙂

  • Gregory from PA, this isn’t equipment for a one time use. Here in Southern California there is a movie industry that hosts dozens of movie premieres per year, and there is an entire sub-industry employing thousands of people to stage and fabricate these types of events using rented equipment and supplies. Disneyland and the Disney Studios simply contracted out for this setup, with a heavy dose of Disneyland magic and set design to make it extra fabulous. It’s not stuff that gets thrown away, at least not in SoCal – The Entertainment Capital of the World.

  • I am so looking forward to this. I went to the last one it was a very long day sitting there, but it was worth it and so cool to meet other pirate fans that I was sitting next to. I will be there bright and early with my camera to get a lot of great pictures. Thank you Disneyland for having the red(black) carpet event again. It would have been so cool to be able to see the movie out in the open air. I know when I went to the festival arena where they were showing the extended clip of the movie was so cool. So I will have to just settle for it in the theater.

  • My daughter and I won tickets through Verizon to this Premiere. We are so excited. We have our costumes ready! We still can’t believe we are going. As part of the package, we walk down the black carpet to the pre-screening party then we get to see the movie.

  • I was there on wed the 4th and it was amazing, i plan on being at Disneyland on sat morning as early as they allow so i can save my spot for the ‘black’ carpet event. To be able to see all the actors walk down main street will be my highlight of the year. I’ve been going to Disneyland since i was about 4 yrs old…born and raised so cali girl!

  • What are they going to do with all this when the event is over?

  • Wow. Sure hoping you plan to recycle all of that plastic and metal when you tear it down…

  • Love the set up, very cool! Hope we’ll see some video clips from the premiere here on the Parks Blog.

  • This is an amazing amphitheater, especially for being temporary! Just WOW!

  • I sure hope that the Disney Parks blog will have photos of the event.

  • For anyone that has gone to the Pirate premieres in the past, if I want to watch the stars arrive on the red(black) carpet do I just wait on Main Street all day and they will NOT kick me out of Disneyland after the park closes at 5pm?

  • I was at Disneyland just last week and saw the construction. As sad as I was that Fantasmic, my favorite Disney show, wasn’t happening due to the construction, I’m sure that the premiere will be incredible!

  • I was fortunately able to attend Pirates Fan First event last December and wish I won contests to this event but who ever goes I hope they have a blast!

  • Very cool!

I am so glad that the world premiere for all four movies has been at Disneyland.
Since it is the original, as well as the place where the Pirates ride began, it is very fitting.

I love it whenever Disneyland gets cool publicity like this!

  • i wish i could be in disney to watch the premeire looks really cool!!!! and tomarow is my B-day!!!! just acouple more years before I move to orlando and start woking at disney!!!then mabey ill be able to see a premiere for a different movie!!!cool right

  • Wow! Holy cow! That has got to be the most awesome pirates experience yet! I can imagine the excitement throughout the crowd as they watch stranger tides for the first time in a setting like that. Guess I will have to settle for my little local theater in Milford, Ohio. People got up and applauded twice last time though on the first night here, and some came in costume! Hope everyone enjoys! Cant wait to check back on Monday!

  • This is great! May 7th, correct?
