As others have said, no, it is not a water ride. It does not need to be, and that is really out of necessity;
IF it were a water/boat ride like Pirates of the Caribbean or Splash Mountain, it would not make any sense at all. Because if we were watching a scene that supposedly takes place underwater it would not make sense when we ourselves would be floating on the real water’s surface.
Therefore, for a real water ride to make sense, it would have to not feature any “under the sea” scenes at all. And for The Little Mermaid, that would be very restricting.
No, there is literally not one drop of water on this ride..
Danielle: it’s not a water ride, it’s a dark ride like Snow White, Pinocchio, and Peter pan, but uses the Omnimover technology like Haunted Mandion. A very good reason for it not being a water ride is it’s location: it is now in place where the Golden Dreams theater used to stand. To revamp the whole structure to make it a water ride would have been a nightmare, I’m sure.
Its’s getting down to the wire, will there be any soft openings or AP previews? I think the excitement for this ride rivals the new Star Tours. Also, is there going to be any special merchandise available when the ride opens?
i wish i could be there for the opening day…i just cant afford it…and i have a very important person in my life having surgery the same day…what a day…i live and breat ariel too…wish i could just win the lottery or something so i can get a season pass and just drive down and see her as much as i possiblby can….see you in november i hope…its gonna be wild
