Yo ho! Yo ho! A Pirate’s Night For Me

'Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides' Premiere at Disneyland Resort

It was a fantastic time at Disneyland Resort as we helped host the premiere of “Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides.” It’s very exciting to welcome our friends from the Walt Disney Studios back to Disneyland to show off their latest film. I’m not going to spoil it for you, but I am confident you’re going to love it!

I’d like to congratulate and thank all of the people from the studios and our parks who organized the event. It was a huge success in every way. It’s also great to see Jack Sparrow back on the big screen for another wild adventure. (My mistake…I meant to say, Captain Jack Sparrow).

This is the fourth time the studios and Disney Parks have celebrated a new “Pirates of the Caribbean” film. Having been to all of them, I think this was the best premiere yet. One of my favorite moments of the evening was seeing all of the fans and guests cheering as the stars of the film walked the carpet. This is really a unique event for our guests and they, in turn, add tremendous energy and excitement to the whole evening. I can see why the studios team keeps coming back – and we’re happy to have them!

  • that was soo much fun!

  • No worries Brett, it was my pleasure. I also saved the recorded event in my “Virtual Disney” file, so that the other half could watch it at her leisure.

  • If you attended this event, were you at the park already or was this done by invitation?

  • There were “Disney celebrities” (like Bob Iger, Jay Rasulo, Dave Smith and of course Tom Skaggs) Disney Channel Celebrities (Orlando Brown and Kyle Massey being my favorites) TV Stars, Movie stars, Music Stars, and of course SUPERstars… what a great night! When Walt Disney Studios and Disneyland combine you KNOW magic on an AWESOME scale is going to happen!

@Ralph – thanks for the mention of the coverage of the event ! Yes, you can still watch the black carpet arrivals there, it was recorded.

  • I am going to remember that day for the rest of my life. Ive never seen that much star power in my life. And mainly all of them sign autographs and interacted with the crowds. The cast members kept us entertained throughout the looooooooooong day. The hats were awesome. Disneyland really outdid themselves. Thank you for this once in a lifetime experience.

  • Actually, for those of you that are interested, you can see the event by going to the Visions Fantastic website. They did a webcast for 6 hours on Saturday, and had nearly 1000 people watching.

The video is rather pixelated and at times nonexistent, but they keep the audio all the way through. At one point there was a Johnny Depp look-a-like that walked by well before the real Johnny Depp, but the fans weren’t fooled, and in true form, Depp made a lot of fans very happy. Anyway, for what I saw online, I thought it was good, and I may even spend a 1000.00 to go to the next premiere. That’s what it cost, but the money all went to charity. So, for a thousand smackers, you got to walk the black carpet, watch “On Stranger Tides” at Disneyland, rub elbows with the celebs, and get a tax write off. All in all, not a bad night.

  • This was such a fun event. So glad I got to attend! Thanks Disney!

  • It looks like it was a blast!

Yes, I’m hoping there will be some video.

  • The best part…The park closed at 5 but the attractions stayed open until 8! 🙂

  • Will there be any video posted of the premier?

  • Will the red or in this case black carpet be televised? It would be great if video could be put on the Disneyparks Youtube channel, I’d love to see the stars walking the carpet.
