Disney’s Dreamers Celebrities Share Their Favorite Disney Moments

This spring, Walt Disney World Resort welcomed the 2011 Disney’s Dreamers to what has become an annual event called Disney’s Dreamers Academy. For the past four years, 100 students are picked out of thousands of applicants to attend a four-day program that has a simple mission; to encourage the students to dream.

Educators, singers, actors, and executives from a myriad of industries spend time with each student to help them harness their full potential. The four days are chock full of interactive workshops and experiences that are designed to focus, inspire and jump start each child’s passion. Yes, there is a lot of work, but the weekend is also filled with lots of Disney magic.

You can follow the past and current Dreamers on their Facebook page and their Twitter page.

While we had them here, we asked these three well-known celebrities what their favorite Disney memory is. They surprised us with their answers! What are your favorite Disney Parks moments?

  • LOL! “Bass Fishing and Golf!” That would totally be my husband too!

  • Back in 2008 at WDW, my niece and I were trying to catch Mushu in the China pavilion. A CM had told us to come back at a certain time but we were running late from dinner, literally. My niece at the time was a few weeks shy of 10-years-old and I was 28. Well being that I am a taller person I was able to run faster, being torn between not wanting to leave her in the dust or not getting there in time to stop Mushu from leaving I looked back over my shoulder. As I turn back she yells “Run, Erica, Run!” She looked so cute trying to keep up, with her pin lanyard bouncing, her arms flapping and holding onto her autograph book and her mickey ears crooked form running. I will never forget that moment, we must have looked to crazy, from my peripheral vision I could see that people were eyeing us , wondering “where the fire was.” We did make it to China, but sadly the line had been cut. My nice was just deflated, I looked around not knowing how to fix this, since it was out last day. The CM we hand talked with before, Mushu’s handler, looked over and saw that we had made it. He whispered to wait at a bench. So we waited for the lien to finish and as they walked away Mushu stopped at the Bench to meet my nice and I and they even gave up the curtesy of allowing the Photopass photography take out picture. Though sadly it was the best picture since was had been running, but the memory of that place and time will alway be vivid in my heart for two years have already passed and I think my niece has grown already into too much of a teenager to fast ::sniff:: I think she would be embarrassed now to run with me to meet Mushu.
