Festival Disney is truly a music festival with character. Next year will mark the 8th year of Festival Disney, Disney Youth Programs’ annual competitive music festival held at the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida. We had a wonderful time this year watching all the extremely talented instrumental, vocal and auxiliary ensembles take part in this magical competition.
Today I am excited to announce that next year’s Festival Disney competition will take place on select weekends from March 9 – May 5, 2012, as well as June 1 – 2, 2012, at the Walt Disney World Resort. We are truly excited to see what next year has in store for us. Here is a look at the event:

I have done Festival Disney in 2010 as a trumpet player. This is a wondeful program that I encourage all band directors to take their students, it is especially memorable if the student hasn’t even been to “the happiest place on Earth”, which it truly is. We spent day 1 at the Magic Kingdom, my favorite park. Day 2 was spent performing in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, later, we went to Downtoen Disney to hang out with our friends, had a dinner with the band at Planet Hollyood, and watched the amazing show by Cirque Du Solei, La Nouba. Day 3, We spent the day at Disney’s Hollywood Studios and we had the award ceremony. It is truly the best band trip we had, if only we could’ve stayed longer…
