Meet Characters from Disney•Pixar Films ‘Up’ and ‘Cars’ at Disney California Adventure Park

Are you an aspiring Wilderness Explorer? Did watching the new Disney•Pixar film “Cars 2” get your engine revving? If so, you should know that you can visit with characters from “Up” and “Cars” at Disney California Adventure park! As we told you last month, the Wilderness Explorer Camp is now open at Redwood Creek Challenge Trail, and young guests are already earning their Wilderness Explorer Badges. Also, near the future entrance to the upcoming Cars Land, guests can take a photo with hotshot race car Lightning McQueen and his best friend, Mater.

  • Though we enjoyed the new Ariel ride at CA Adventure, my family is always on the lookout for anything new that isn’t either yet-another-princess or isn’t geared more for teens and older (e.g. ElecTRONica, which I like but which my young sons would just as soon pass by). The chance to meet Dug and Russell was just the thing for our two boys, and it kept us motivated to do the activities in the Redwood Creek Challenge Trail, which we had already done several times before. My boys completed the challenges and then participated in the Wilderness Explorer ceremony.

    We’re hoping for more Phineas and Ferb, too.

  • I think it’s great that the Redwood Creek Challenge Trail is being used as the Wilderness Explorer Camp! It’s a great way to take something old and turn it into something new. And of course I’m excited for Cars Land!

  • I cannot tell you how happy I am to see Russell and Dug at Redwood Creek Challenge Trail. I love how it’s been transformed into the Wilderness Explorer Camp. It was great being greeted by Dug where we looked for squirrels together. Then, I earned all my badges and got sworn in by Russell. How fun is that? And, taking pictures with them there is the perfect background. I can’t wait to take my nephews to earn their badges! Thank you for bringing these characters to Disney California Adventure. Now, can you bring Carl there, too?

    PS – I am also very excited about Cars Land!

  • If you are in Utah for the rest of this week (Thru Aug 14)you gotta go see the “UP” house in the parade of homes! It is phenominal!
