Just last month I had the opportunity to meet up with Pin Product Developers Jeanne Lewis and Julie Young. That’s not an easy feat, since they are both based at the Walt Disney World Resort. Luckily for us, I was able to get a few minutes of their time at the Sci-Fi Academy event where they took me through some of the pins you can expect to see this fall. Here are a few of my personal picks that I know you’re going to love.
Wondering when you can get your next Star Tours pin fix? Wait no more. On September 8, despite having “a bad feeling about this,” C-3PO will steer your course for adventure. Then you’ll only have one or two months to wait before Aly San San “Welcomes You” aboard with our next pin release on November 17. Don’t worry, that time will fly by.
Now Annual Passholders, you might be asking… what about us? Well good news. There is a Silly Symphony Swings Annual Passholder pin “in store” for you on August 4 and right behind that release is a Halloween-inspired jumbo pin. Of course, you need to wait until pumpkins are in season at the Disneyland Resort for this one, so swing by the Disneyana Shop on September 17. Special Note: The artist will be on hand for the September 17 release as we will be celebrating the debut of our Halloween and Haunted Mansion Holiday inspired merchandise treats.
Before I go, there is one more set of pins you might want to get your taste buds ready for. The Haunted Mansion Holiday Gingerbread Mystery Collection debuts October 8. What a tantalizing “treat” for any Disney pin fan. The collection features replicas of the gingerbread displays that have been the focal point of the Haunted Mansion Holiday attraction for almost 10 years, created by our Entertainment Designers Brian Sandahl and Tim Wollweber. Brian and Tim will be on hand for a special signing of this collection as well, so mark your calendars now. Reminder: An online wristband opportunity will take place for this release so please watch DisneyPins.com for more information.
That’s all the pin news I have for now. But if I get any more scoop, I’ll post it right here on the Disney Parks Blog.
