Sneak Peek at Mickey’s Halloween Party at Disneyland Park

We’re getting ready for Halloween here at the Disneyland Resort, and many guests’ favorite part of the season is Mickey’s Halloween Party at Disneyland park. I recently spoke with Carla Carlile, Show Director for Mickey’s Halloween Party, to get a sneak peek of what we can look forward to at the party.

“Mickey’s Halloween Party will have the same fun and spooky but not-too-scary atmosphere,” said Carla, who added that this year’s party will feature new elements, like new trick-or-treat locations to explore. “Party guests will be able to explore areas of the park that they haven’t had the chance to explore before,” she said.

And even though Pirates of the Caribbean is closed for refurbishment, Carla tells us that pirates will be taking over Frontierland at Mickey’s Halloween Party. Jack Sparrow will be there along with Goofy, Pluto, Chip, Dale and Pluto, who will lead guests in a variety of pirate games.

There’s plenty for the little monsters, too, with a special pirate treasure map coloring area and meet-and-greets with Phineas and Ferb – the first time at the Disneyland Resort! Here’s what else Mickey’s Halloween Party guests can look forward to:

  • Mickey’s Costume Party Cavalcade – 8:30 and 10:30 each night
  • Halloween Screams fireworks spectacular – 9:30 each night
  • Space Mountain Ghost Galaxy and Haunted Mansion Holiday
  • Admission to Disneyland park up to 3 hours prior to the party
  • Meet-and-greets with Disney Villains
  • Treat stations with candy and healthy goodies

And don’t forget your costumes! Carla told me that her favorite part of Mickey’s Halloween Party is “seeing families come together, dressed up and experiencing Halloween as a family.” Halloween Party runs on select nights starting September 30 through October 31. Click here to purchase tickets.

  • As a first time SoCal pass holder, I’m not getting what happens on the nights for the Halloween party. Are there areas sanctioned off for people that pay extra for the party? What do you get for buying a ticket that regular pass holders don’t?

I hope someone replies with answers…

    Thank you!

  • Is there a discount for annual pass members?

  • “Party guests will be able to explore areas of the park that they haven’t had the chance to explore before”

    — new areas of the park? What does this mean exactly?

  • Will there be special pins for sale that are exclusive to the Halloween party? I see the AP holders pins, but are there any others?

  • We will be there next week starting 10/02/2011. My daughter’s birthday is Sunday, 10/03/2011 does she receive free admission to the party?

  • Will we have to exit and re-enter Disneyland with our separate event tickets on the day we go to the Halloween Party?

  • Hi!! Can’t wait for this. 😀 It’s my first Halloween Party. I have the same question as Jacqueline, though…do you have to dress up?

  • #18 JESSica my bdy is on OCtober 14 too…

  • Hi…My boyfriend and I are going down there on Sept30 and 1st time attending MICKEYS HALLOWEEN PARTY:) Good I found the link the other night..Its my early birthday celebration at the park..SEE YOU GUYS!!SOOOO excited..cnt wait

  • Can’t wait Love this time of the year and love Disneyland USA !!

  • Do you have to dress up?

  • I got tickets for my son and myself, will we both be able to buy costumes at a shop in Disneyland? He is 3.

  • I definitely need to make it to this atleast one time.

  • I am so excited to Celebrate my birthday at the Disneyland Halloween Party on October 14th.

  • I’m really excited about the expanded Pirates experience in Frontierland (I’m assuming Goofy, Pluto and Chip n’ Dale will be dressed as pirates) and the chance to meet Phineas and Ferb (please say Agent P will be there, too!). I’m hoping aside from these meet-and-greet opportunities and the Villains meet-and-greet area that there will also be other character meet-and-greet opportunities (and hopefully more than there were last year with rarer characters than last year). Please say there will be more characters to meet!

  • Can’t wait for HalloweenTime!

My question is this: If we are adults who LOVE to dress up for Mickey’s Halloween Treat, will we be allowed in the park 3 hours before the Party actually starts? Or because we’re dressed up as Disney characters, will we have to wait until the actual “start time” of Mickey’s Halloween Treat?

    Thank you

  • We’ll be at Walt Disney World for Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party. Will the same events be offered at the Magic Kingdom in Orlando?

  • MY family and I will be going to disneyland for our first time this oct. we normally go to wdw. IS Mickeys halloween party thing worth it if you do not have kids?

  • We have park hopper passes for the whole time we will be there. Will we be able to see and do different things if we buy tickets to the Halloween party? We are bringing our grand daughter, so would we have to buy 3 tickets for the Halloween party?

    • Anne – Mickey’s Halloween Party requires a separate ticket for each member of your party. There are exclusive elements of the party that are not available during regular park hours, like the Halloween Screams fireworks spectacular, treat stations, Mickey’s Costume Party Cavalcade and special dance parties with Disney characters.

  • Ooh, ooh! What parts of the park do we get to explore? Maybe the Dream suite? Looking forward to this!

  • Can’t wait to meet Phineas and Ferb. Our whole family loves this show.

  • Will Jack Skellington be making a return to the party? I loved the dance club last year!

  • I’m glad that I will be bringing my family down during Halloween this year. My son was jumping up and down with excitement when I told him that Phineas and Ferb will be there.

  • Can’t wait to see Phineas and Ferb at the party! Will you please tell us where we can find them?

    • Hi Jamie – We’ll have more information about the Disney character greetings at Mickey’s Halloween Party on the Disney Parks Blog soon.

  • Attended Mickey’s Halloween Party at Disneyland for the first time last year & had such an AMAZING time that we’re returning this year. Got our tix back in July & cannot wait! The Halloween Screams fireworks display was the most spectacular I’ve ever witnessed. The cavalcade was great (so much character interaction with our 3 yr-old!). The Halloween music/decor/atmosphere was absolutely fantastic. And I LOVED the fact it was a ticket only event. It limits the crowd so you can actually enjoy everything–THANK YOU, DISNEY!. You’re easily able to snag a prime spot for the fireworks & cavalcade about 15 min. beforehand & watch without being crushed by a mass of humanity AND we didn’t experience any waits for any of the rides we went on. In fact, we walked onto Pirates three times in a row. Can’t say enough about the event. FUN BEYOND WORDS!!!

  • Do we bring our own trick or treat bags for goodie collection?

    • Treat bags will be distributed as guests enter Disneyland park for Mickey’s Halloween Party.

  • I love it! I can’t to go the Halloween Party. This is going to be a blast. 🙂

  • The click here to get tickets link isn’t a link…

  • Can not wait. So excited we are going to be there on Halloween night. It will be our first Halloween party.

  • I am now going to the event in DisneyWorld the 2nd of October with my boyfriend, best friend, boyfriends brother (this is an early birthday present) and of course myself. I am dressing up as Belle she is my favorite princess she reminds me of myself. My boyfriend I think will be CAptain America or Thor. Can not wait!!

  • Loving the Pirate stuff /additions 🙂
