Boyz II Men Celebrate 20 Years of Hit-Making at Walt Disney World Resort During Epcot International Food & Wine Festival

In an industry where a singer can be on top of the charts one week and nearly forgotten the next month, it’s quite an achievement to have the talent and dedication to succeed for even a few years. But how about 20?

On Monday night, music legends Boyz II Men celebrated their 20th anniversary following a performance as part of the “Eat to the Beat!” Concert Series during the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival. Mickey Mouse joined the trio on stage and helped them celebrate with a two-tiered cake.

In the early 1990s, Boyz II Men exploded onto the music scene with “Cooleyhighharmony,” the debut album that featured smash hits like “It’s Hard to Say Goodbye To Yesterday” and, in a nod to their Philadelphia background, “Motownphilly.” That album vaulted the group into superstardom and they would go on to sell more than 60 million recordings and win multiple Grammy Awards.

Two decades later, they are now more “Men” than “Boyz,” but still producing hits, performing live concerts and gaining a new generation of fans. This week also marks the release of their new studio album, “Twenty,” which features brand-new songs and some of their biggest chart toppers from the past 20 years.

Today (Oct. 26), Boyz II Men will perform their final concerts for this year’s “Eat to the Beat!” performance series. If you’re heading to Walt Disney World Resort this afternoon, be sure to try and catch their show in the America Gardens Theatre at Epcot. Performances are scheduled (subject to change) at 5:15, 6:30 and 7:45 p.m., and the concerts are included in regular admission to Epcot.

  • I love boyz II Men I’m glad they’re still around

  • We were at Epcot this time last year and the Boyz II Men Concert was a complete surprise and one of the highlights of the trip.

  • Anyone remember the Boyz II Men hit “Motownphilly” in a Disney attraction?

The answer is The Timekeeper (1994-2006) in the Magic Kingdom.

After Jules Verne explores the future with 9-Eye, he is accidentally returned to our present day, where Boyz II Men’s “Motownphilly” can be heard in the background.

    • Wow — Scott, you have quite the memory (and quite the ear for music). Great fun fact about “Motownphilly” being included in The Timekeeper. I definitely learned a new Disney Parks fact today!
