A Double Toast to Disney Beverage Program

Raise a glass to Disney Parks & Resorts for the big win in Cheers Magazine’s 2012 “Cheers Beverage Excellence Awards” and also the 2012 VIBE VISTA Award for “Best Wine Program” in the hotel/cruise line segment.

Cheers is the only beverage business publication devoted to full-service restaurants, bars and hotels, and each year they honor companies for creativity, originality and impact on sales. The Disney award is “Best Chain Multi-Concept Beverage Program.” Entries were evaluated by a judging panel that includes previous Beverage Excellence Award winners and Cheers staff.

The VISTA Award recognizes quality, selection and menu list/design plus depth of training and continuing education.

Congrats! And here’s one of the many reasons … a vodka martini with a sweet twist.

Blue Glow-tini
Walt Disney Parks and Resorts

Serves 1

1 ounce Skyy Infusions Citrus Vodka
½ ounce BOLS Peach Schnapps
½ ounce BOLS Blue Curacao liqueur
1 ounce sweet-and-sour mix
½ ounce pineapple juice
1 glow cube

  1. Mix first 5 ingredients in a large cocktail shaker with ice and shake vigorously.
  2. Strain into a 7 ½-ounce martini glass with a sugared rim. Add glow cube.

  • Congratualtions on much deserved accolades! The Blue Glow-tini has become our favorite drink to make at home. I think some friends come over just to have a delicious glow cube experience!

  • Yes, its delicious! My favorite, though, is the Kungaloosh, a delicious blackberry/brandy strawberry daquiri drink from the world renowned Adventurer’s Club. I understand it may now be available at Trader Sams in Disneyland. Cheers and Kungaloosh!

  • My favorite is/was the Kungaloosh also. The red version with whipped cream preferably served in my Yakoose mug from the Adventurer’s Club. Found the recipe and now it is a party favorite at home.

  • While I enjoy the Kungaloosh, my favorite has been the Gypsy Moth, named after Adventurers Club Aviator, Hathaway Browne’s beloved biplane, served in a Club Canteen!
