Mackenzie-Dumbo doesn’t close until 1/9/12.
mackenzie- Dumbo doesn’t close until January 9. I’m not sure about the cards.
I don’t care what anyone says. Ultimately, the idea was from Jason Segel, co-written by Nick Stoller, and it was director James Bobin’s vision. They all contributed ideas to the film, and they all deserve credit.
Pixar only gave their imput. (Which may or may not have been major) We do not know the extent of their involvement. Every movie script goes through several drafts.
Jason Segel should not be scoffed at. He is a good person and he is a big Muppet fan. I am stating facts, not speculation.
The decision to delete already filmed scenes were made by the director and editors, same with any movie.
And its a fact that the decision to bring back obscure characters came from the director, James Bobin, that fact has been cited by one of the performers.
At any rate, I’m glad that the film was so successful. 🙂
While Segel is due some credit for pitching a story treatment that was closer to the original Muppet Show than “Muppet Wizard of Oz” was, let’s give some LONG OVERDUE credit to some of Disney’s own in-house story writers–including many from Pixar’s story department–who had been handed Segel’s original draft for “a few improvements” (to put it politely), at the same time as they were doing last-minute storyline tweaks on “Tron Legacy”.
Many of Pixar’s folk are also true longtime Muppet fans, and from the amount of Segel’s original 3-hour storyline that was left on the cutting-room floor at the last minute, I’d say a lot -more- Muppet fandom shows in the final cut. 🙂
I don’t care what anyone says, I loved the new Muppets movie and I appreciate the fact that Jason Segel pitched his idea to Disney to bring the Muppets back to the big screen.
He is a big Muppet fan and he has said so several times in interviews.
So, thank you to Jason Segel, Nick Stoller, and James Bobin for bringing the Muppets back to the big screen. (And for bringing back so many of the obscure characters like Thog and Uncle Deadly.)
I just have to say, I love the Muppets!
I see Disney is using the “new” art for the Muppets movie, with just the characters–
I like it, it’s an improvement over the old art with the Sitcom Guy, the “Enchanted” Star and the new What’s-his-name in it. Sort of sums up why most of us were going to see the movie in the first place. 🙂
Hi my family is going to Disney World in 13 days and we were wondering if Dumbo will be open and we would also like to know if Sorcerers in the Kingdom cards are available for purchase there. Please write back.
