Bake Me a Cake – 24 Layers of Goodness in this Extravagant Disneyland Dessert

You can only taste it in one place, and sorry, no recipe with this sweet ending. Next in our “Bake Me a Cake” series is the 24-Layer Cake from Steakhouse 55. There’s something nearly perfect about a chocolate dessert after a hearty steak – so be sure to save room on your next visit to this restaurant in the Disneyland Hotel.

We love watching baker Romel Manalang as he carefully builds 2 dozen thin layers of cake and sublime flavors of chocolate – a nutella and cream layer; a dark organic chocolate layer and a milk chocolate layer, stacked with chocolate sponge cake. He finishes with a dark chocolate ganache. Irresistible!

Have you tried the 24-Layer Cake?

  • That looks so good! I love chocolate cake!

  • Holy cow! Dinner is served.

  • Have I tried it?…Sadly, no, although it does look worth traveling 3,000 miles to try.

However, if you tried putting it in the next Recipes by Disney column, I might give it a whirl. 🙂

  • OH MY GOD !!! What is the price of this delicious piece of heaven?

  • that looks amazing… yum 🙂 thanks for posting!

  • Oh my, that looks amazing. Please bring it to WDW! We’ll be there in April for our 35th anniversary and this would be wonderful to share together.

  • We have eaten at many Disneyland Resort restaurants, but never at Steakhouse 55. We decided to go there for our anniversary a few weeks ago. We were not disappointed in the food. In fact, we went back again for New Year’s Eve. My husband, the root beer fan, chose the deconstructed root beer float for dessert. I, the chocolate purest, hesitantly selected the 24-layer cake. Though it wasn’t all dark chocolate, it was surprisingly good. I brought home half, and I would highly recommend it!

  • WOW!
