In a recent post, my fellow Disney Parks Blog author Steven Miller previewed the Gear Up For Adventure Mystery Pin Set originally scheduled to be released this summer as part of our annual summer pin event at the Disneyland Resort. With the highly anticipated Cars Land opening at Disney California Adventure park, we’ve shifted gears and have changed our annual weekend event to a series of summer releases and signings.

We’ve been revving our engines and polishing the chrome on release info and have some news to share with you. The first release themed around “Road Trip to California” is scheduled to take place June 29, 2012. The second release with a “Car Show at Disneyland” theme is scheduled for August 17. Of course, we’ll share more details on these releases in the coming months on the Disney Parks Blog and www.DisneyPins.com.

Now, I couldn’t let you go without a sneak peek at a couple more pins from these collections. So take a look!

  • Love it!!! Thanks so much for sharing — the map is just awesome!

  • Is that map only going to be at Disneyland, because I am only 20 minutes from WDW and I’m in love with it!!!

  • It’s sad to hear that Gear Up For Adventure has been changed from a Pin Event to just two pin releases. But I am grateful for the info on the dates and the previews. I hope there will be a DLR Pin Event in 2013!

The previewed items look AMAZING!! Is the map a boxed set or a framed set? Will there be any Vinylmations for the Gear Up For Adventure merchandise line?

Unfortunately I am unable to attend the February 17 Disney Trading Night. Hopefully there will be some preview images on ODPT:)

  • Great art, but, we’re supposed to believe that Mickey and friends actually come from Walt Disney World and are making a “road trip” to California and the birthplace to it all?

  • For the pin trading event on the 17th, do we need to buy tickets or anything? I’ve never been to one but my daughter and I are planning on coming for the first time. What is the experience like?

    • There is no need to buy tickets to the Trading Night on the 17th. The venue will be open from 7pm to 10pm in the Pacific Ballroom at Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel. It’s great fun and I know you’ll enjoy it. You’ll meet a lot of other novice and avid traders at this gathering and will also have the opportunity to see some of the upcoming releases on display.

  • For the pin event on the 17th, do we need to buy tickets or something? I noticed it said on the website not to line up more than an hour prior to the event. Why do people line up? I’m excited because this is our first pin trading night and I’m bringing my youngest daughter with me. We pin trade together. Any help or ideas would be nice.

    • Craig, I’m so glad that you’ll be joining in the fun of Trading Night. You’ll have a great time. There are typically a lot of novice and avid traders, Disney fans, etc. Guests are often anxious to get into the room to begin their evening of trading and fun, so they will often get to the venue a little early and wait for the doors to open. Definitely bring some pins and vinyl to trade and be prepared to see amazing collections from some of our great Disney fans.

  • I was so looking forward to the annual pin event. I love the goodies that come with it such as tshirts and special pins. Will there be any goodies with the the pin releases?

  • So DLR no longer gets an event?? That is horrible news! I really enjoyed the event last year and have been looking forward to attending again this year. Now its just been dissolved into 2 pin releases? That is very un-magical.

  • Good point Loren!

  • I have a question has the pins below the road trip map come out yet if not when do they come out
