Isn’t this an amazing photo? And we couldn’t wait to share it with you on this lovely Valentine’s Day.
Here’s the story behind the shot, as told to me by the photographer, Yellow Shoes Creative Director Will Gay:
“My son, Owen, and I had just walked away from the Garden Railway Miniature Train in the Germany Pavilion (one of his favorite things to see at Epcot), and he pointed up at the sky and said, ‘Dad look!’ I looked up to see the word ‘LOVE’ in the sky, framed up perfectly by the Italy Pavilion and it just seemed to fit,” Will said.
“I think interesting photos are about being in the right place at the right time. That happened the day my son and I were walking through Epcot. I think Italy is so known and associated with love that it just makes the picture of the skywriting with Italy in the foreground all the more perfect!”

We were there Sept 2011 and saw skywriting too. Wonder if this was taken at the same time. The complete note: God loves you trust Him.
What a great picture and what a great place to visit and share “love” with your family !
It is especially nice because this is where my husband and I were married! There is DEFINITELY love in the air there 🙂
I’ve never been a fan of the sky-writing
We saw this too when we in Epcot last month. Have several shots of it taken mostly over the American Pavillion.
Yeah, that guy is always there. I’ve been to Disney 8 times in the past 5 years and I have a photo of his religious sky writing from every trip.
Yes, this is part of the skywriter’s message. He writes “Jesus Loves You” or “Jesus Saves” in the sky over Epcot and the other parks. Interesting that the person taking the photo caught this part of his message right over Italy, but it is part of a larger message from the skywriter.
My daughter and I look forward to seeing this skywriting each rims that we are on property 🙂
Just about every non-windy day that guy is writing something in the sky.
I love Epcot….Italy is my favorite pavilion…and this photo is so Valentine’s Day. I love it! I just wish I were there.
Allan: Just a guess but this looks identical to the sky writing that my family saw while hanging out at the Polynesian pool a couple of times- it seemed to be a local- the sign eventually said “love Jesus” and God = [happy face sign]. My girls were really worked up at first because they thought it would be a marriage proposal 🙂 Still neat 🙂
It’s awesome looking up and seeing that in EPCOT! Any idea who the pilot is that does that?
Shouldn’t it be…love is in the AIR?
Ah well. Happy Valentines Day Everyone.
That would’ve been a great headline. Darn it! Happy Valentine’s Day.
Happy Valentine’s Day from Antarctica! Thank you for making every day magical, Disney!
Wow! Happy Valentine’s Day to you.
Happy V-Day, All You EPCOT- WS Lovers!
